1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - X11 POW/POS Cryptocurrency for StarCraft fans. No premine. on: June 13, 2014, 08:25:02 AM
Although I think this coin has added some new interesting ideas, the way it is has been handled by the dev is awful.

I pointed all my six rigs to this coin (4, 2.5, 2.5, 9, 12 and 25 MH/s). As I just woke up, I found that all but 4 MH/s rigs were not working properly. Having checked this thread I found the announcement by the dev that all but 1 worker would be deleted.

So this means I have been heating up my house and office (during summer time) with expensive electricity for nothing in return.

It sucks.

It also means that the dev sucks.

And that I feel like I have been cheated by the dev...

Why the one hour only notice? Sure, I should have had other coins as backups, but I didn't, I just had other Minerals pools as backups because I had decided to go all in on Minerals.

Still, this doesn't mean the coin and the ideas behind all this are bad, just very, very poorly handled by the dev.

You suck.

And just to make things clear, I am writing this not as a pool operator but as a common miner and supporter of the coin.

Controversial coin this one. Going to be worth a lot!

Let's let it play out the way the devs intend and we'll see what happens. It will be an interesting experiment I guess.

It won't be worth anything.  Exchanges aren't hosting it.

You'll be mining air.

Coin is dead before it started.

Buhuhuuhuuu binaryclock are not get any money at all. So fair it can be

Notice : Dedicated pool are DDoS other pools to get all the hashrate!

DDoS'ing is just childish, carnt see why dedicated have beef to be honest theres plenty more coins in the sea

i think some pool op's (not all) are afraid .. if this coin is successful minerals can maybe set a new trend and pools like dedicated will lose importance.
minerals is an experiment, flop or not - future will tell. at least minerals is trying something new (hats off for that).
we had some coins in the last months where 1 pool had almost all miners anyway .....

I agree. As much as we would love to set up a pool for this coin, we still wouldn't dream of sabotaging the coin launch by contacting exchanges and trying to make them ignore this coin.

Acting childish just because we cannot have a pool for it is something we would never do.

The way DedicatedPool (and some other pool operators) is behaving right now just shows who can and cannot be trusted. Like I said before, Dedicated has done it before (PyramidsCoin).

I will be mining this coin with my rigs and give it a chance, that is what I will do Cheesy

EDIT: Wow, that is me! I just got 20 MIN! Cheesy
sorry i just copy and pasted that from a few pages back.it from dev.u dont get the 20 MIN.

Ooops. Sometimes it may pay off Reading an entire post before getting all excited about things... Tongue

You think these pools have DDOS protection? Think again.

We charge 2% because we are a premium pool where shit just works.

We'll see on launch :p

If there is no competition among pools DDoS just makes no sense. Why would anyone DDoS our pools if one cannot profit from it?

Sorry, not going to work.  Already contacted exchanges and gave them the heads up.

Nobody is going to host this coin on a major exchange.

If you mine this coin you are killing crypto.  And in fact, since you won't be able to trade it, you're just wasting electricity.

But why are you doing this? We are trying to have some innovative way of distributing coins and you want to kill this idea because pool operators, like yourself, can't participate? We were going well in discussion with Bittrex of listing us from the launch but I am afraid that they might not do it given your reputation.
This is just sad and makes no sense to me.

People will DDoS your pools because of the threat this coin poses to all other coins, if the system you introduce turns out to be more attractive than what is considered "normal" up to this point. If you bring something new to the table that revolutionizes the way the silent majority thinks, the ones who were in control will do everything in their power to remain in control.

Limiting the hashrate is a wonderful idea, but it's also a threat to the big wales out there. It is also a threat to every coin that uses the old system, and, along with it, to every pool owner that has a pool set up for any of those coins. If people find your coin more attractive than the others, they will migrate to it and abandon anything else.

If you mine this coin, you are SAVING crypto, not killing it. All people should be able to acquire coins at the same rate. There should be no difference between miners due to the fact that some can afford expensive equipment while others can't. Being able to increase the amount of coin one gains by selling the mined coins and reinvesting into mining equipment should not be possible, because this leads to an exponential increase in reward for that person. This is wrong, and it represents one of the main reasons why crypto cannot be seriously considered to replace real currencies in it's current state.

I think it's better to stay away from Dedicatedpool after this. If they are using their power to control the revolution cryptocoins were supposed to be, like the mafia of crytocoins. Then it's probably better to avoid them.

I'll mine this coin, it's become important to support it

This is the second time this week that DedicatedPool threatens to use their influence to stop a coin from being registered at exchanges. This should be a warning signal to anyone. Trying to influence the market by being the dominating pool should make people avoid them.

Last time it was Millionairecoin that was the target of Binaryclock's/DedicatedPool's rage when the source code was like an hour late at launch...

This being said I still think the fact that all pools are controlled by the coin owner is a cause for concern, but I will personally be mining this with my private rigs and see what happens.

Same think happened with Pyramidecoin as well, same guy threatening to ruin their chances with Bittrex and other exchanges, since they "held back the code". Even after the code was published and the really humble dev had apologized in the forum and promised "never to do it again", the humiliation kept going! The coin is still not on Bittrex, wonder why? Who is this mafioso with so much power? Who is Bittrex accepting to be controlled by mafia? We should stop giving power to such mental's. I've seen too much of this in Easter Europe and how it can really ruin peoples lives. Disgusting!!!

I totally agree. And I was wrong, it was not Millionairecoin, it was Pyramidscoin that was the last one, but still, he is trying to destroy/harm coins for which he has been unable to set up pools.

Buying MIL at Poloniex at launch was perhaps not the wisest thing I ever made, but now I have done it and, well, I am holding all my MIL and waiting. I only wish I had waited a few minutes more Before buying Tongue
