Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Just did a small article on Minerals :

http://www.cryptoarticles.com/crypto-news/minerals-x11-powpos-with-no-wallet-download-before-end-of-pow

Not bashing the coin, just pointing some things out, still recommend people give it a try though Smiley

I would like to know what u want to achieve with this coin ?
what will it be used for ?
or is it just another coin for the sake of having a coin ?

For me you have last chance to do it in time. 3x postponed=game over, although i want to everything is ok tomorrow.

why the fuck are you supporting a closed project like this ? because it uses starcraft image ? pretty damn smart.

Because it have saome interesting new features, show me second coin with this distribution of coin? I'm not even like StarCraft, i'm in because it's looking good.

Premine: 0 (0%)

You say this, but are in full control of the pools that are skimming 1%.

So in the end, you will have control over 1% of the coins anyhow, should just say "1% co-mine" or something.

Sounds a bit scammy like the x13 coins and their "donation" addresses.

+ 1
The devs(2) and the Admin(1), control the ONLY pools for this coin, so, each one of the three will get 100,000 coins. Sounds like a pseudo-premine to me. But, who knows, maybe it will work. Why not just one pool then? Or just have everyone sign up, give everyone a percentage of the 30,000,000 coins, then there is NO distribution problem. Everyone who downloads the wallet before launch gets their percentage. Then there is no electricity wasted mining, and it couldn't be more fairly distributed.

As a pool operator, I take exception to your insinuation that pool operators do nothing for their 1% fees. I'm sure that in the world you live in, servers, electricity, bandwidth and the operator's time are free. Drop us a postcard so we can visit some day.

This community can surely be a handful sometimes... Just take your time dev, like you said, a smooth launch is 100x better than an early start while knowing there may be complications. All these guys whining about the coin being postponed have no saying in it.

Also, this coin could get some attention from one of the biggest reddit communities r/starcraft if the plan is to somehow have those players to start using it. PM me if you need help with marketing the coin on reddit, I have a lot of experience with reddit under the same username.

Well, pools are collecting fees regardless whether we run them or other people and some even charge more than 1%. Maybe the wording doesn't cater to everybody but I think it is fair to say that relatively to any other coin there is no premine.

Pool operators have cost, there is no question about that and I apologize if I insulted someone, however any coins left after paying the costs (assuming that pools on average are profitable) don't go toward coin development.

We have extensively tested everything. We are ready for tomorrow's launch. Per worker limits work fine - at 50 MH/s as demanded by the community.
Pool registrations are now open. Please, choose your closest pool:

http://scv.minerals.pro  US East (N. Virginia)
http://drone.minerals.pro  EU (Ireland)
http://probe.minerals.pro  US West (N. California)
http://mule.minerals.pro  US West (Oregon)
http://refinery.minerals.pro  Asia Pacific (Singapore)
http://extractor.minerals.pro  South America (São Paulo)

There has been one change in reward schedule - first 100 blocks will have 1 coin reward and not 150. Also, first 20 blocks, i.e. 20 MIN have been already mined - this is due to some problems with stratum pool mining from block 1, i.e. blocks found by the pool are orphaned if block height is less than 20 (I believe this is X11 coin issue). We've decided to go around this by solo-mining first 20 blocks. These 20 MIN will be given to the next poster in this thread after I post this.

awesome! can't wait to start mining tomorrow.

I noticed you split up the pools making it available in different regions. Thank you for providing a US East pool, hopefully we get some good hash on that one Cheesy

We also hope that people will mine based on their geography and therefore hashes would be naturally spread.

Btw, komodovpn, you will be the recipient of the first 20 MIN Smiley

wow cool I didnt even notice.

I like the idea of pools being in different geo areas but I think it is inevitable for one pool to eventually dominate in hashrate over the others:

- more miners may be located in a specific region
- perhaps later other miners will just hop on to the biggest pool

without standard pools i'm out.

too much scams around to trust that kind of launch; too bad; i'm a heavy starcraft player.

good luck anyway

why would you need standard pools? You will lose more than you will benefit if the coin source released during POW stage. Asics will flood in, big farms and rentals will flood in and dump coins right away. Average miner gets nothing. Not to mention pools that charge you up to 2% fee for nothing on top of the premine that is needed for coin promotions. Why all coins are crap now? Because of unfair distribution. Distribution of Minerals going to be fair. We are setting up abe block explorer to be totally transparent from the start

You think these pools have DDOS protection? Think again.

We charge 2% because we are a premium pool where shit just works.

We'll see on launch :p

I saw the 20 blocks in the pool when i signed up.  My question though is, how are you going to keep people from mining over 50 MH?  Is there room for fluctuation at all?  I know some rigs can jump from like 50 MH to 60+ MH in some short bursts.
