Total curiosity question, just because i love knowing stuff.. Just transferred 64xmr and i noticed when i did a refresh the first transaction that showed up, before showing all my transfers in the purple text, was 3 transactions received: 1 for .6, 1 for 6, and 1 for 10.. for a total of 16.6xmr received and then all the purple text showing the transfers going out.. my final balance is correct, nothing extra received see screengrab if necessary: http://imgur.com/c7P6tmEso i guess my question is now obvious, why is that? where did that 16.6xmr come from? is it part of my transfer? and why 16.6 when i sent 64? ok so i guess that's 4 questions i know i wen't a little overboard with the redacting, but once i started i couldn't stop! Thanks, That's your change. In order to send 64, the wallet used one or more outputs adding up to 80.6 (maybe a bit more with fee), of which 64 (60+4) went to the recipient and 16.6 (10+6+0.6) came back to you. Bitcoin works the same way and you can see these change transactions if you look on a chain explorer, but usually wallets don't normally show the low level details the way simplewallet does. Makes sense, thanks! You learn something new every day...

The post linked to about the miner has been deleted.. any other place to find updates about it? It looks like the user was banned maybe.. google translate doesn't do the thread any favors so it's kind of hard to figure out what's going on.

Fuck it.
WTS my Mintpal account with 5000 XMR in it.
Feel free to PM me offers.
Why oh why do people hold coins on an exchange? How many GoxPals will it take before hard lessons endured by others are learned by the masses? I pulled my XMR off Polo.. yeah probably got spooked, i know, but 6 months worth of mining is precious to me. It's for the best anyways, any time I attempted to trade on a swing I'd get greedy and end up losing XMR lol.. saving me from myself

Oh man, Civilization 1.. my first PC game ever! Still play it on DOSbox from time to time, still just as good. Thanks for making me nostalgia hard! Were you a player back in the day?

v9.1 is available:
- Improved pool-related routines: less disconnects, more hashrate on some pools. - Fixed issue with some old 6xxx/5xxx cards ("lowDifficultShare" error).
9.1 gets flagged as malware in google chrome, have you added some dlls which could cause this? In Chrome go to 'Settings' and under 'Privacy' uncheck the 'Enable phishing and malware prevention' box, that will let you download it. Just don't forget to re-check the box when you're done.

Are XMR payouts on hold? I haven't received one in 12 hours, usually it's 3-4 like clockwork.

This kind of even distribution basically ends up helping people being whales who can overcome the limitation. By having no value I meant that it's not listed on any exchanges.
Unfair distribution is all about limited access. Anyone can download an app, anyone can ask a friend to download an app, the problem with unfair mining is you need a lot of expertise and money outlay to mine big and be a whale. This gives access to anyone with a phone. This is about true fairness ie the mainstream, selfish miners on here shouldn't apply. The only way I can see to game the system is have loads of phones going around in a tumble dryer or loads in a backpack. I know some have already done this but it still takes some human effort. I've bought some of guys doing this, fair play to them. I prefer this to some nerdy twat with a massive Mining computer in his parents basement Right, so let me point out all the issues I found with mangocoinz: - it's an android app, an .apk file which can be easily decompiled and manipulated. - by default, it tracks the movement of the accelerometer and once it reaches a certain value, it add coins. And while I don't know much about android apps, I'm fairly certain you could shape or even completely eliminate the need for shaking to reach the maximum amount of coins you can get. - the app identifies devices by their IMEI number so 1 device can only have 1 account, however it is pretty easy to emulate a huge amount of android instances with individual custom IMEI numbers on PC as there are several android emulators out there (I just mined 1 coin in an emulator with the unmodified version as a test). Or you could just might build a version without the IMEI verification so you could in theory run the app on the same device as many times as possible. - it is very likely centralized and there's no proof of the amount of coins generated so far other than a counter on the official website. - lack of transparency, no information regarding the coin details, future plans, no block explorers or richlists, total users, etc that I could find. - mining has no cost associated which means it's value will be based on scarcity but some people probably went through the hoops to amass a lot of coins and they will dump them once it will get on an exchange. So I think in essence this has too many red flags to be taken seriously. ^^All of this! If i can download a modded Simpsons: Tapped Out APK with 9999999 donuts, all old items, hacked to shit, ect... and play it on EA servers then imagine what a motivated programmer could do with this platform, it would be complete anarchy. For almost all apps with IAP content there is a hacked version that removes all protections. It's too easy to manipulate the Android platform. And i'm a loyal Android user, I'm not saying that's a bad thing!

Aha, yes.. I looked up the transaction ID and the fee was 0.101058420000. It did take a hella long time to go through too, like over 24 hours. I thought maybe because there was a lot of transactions in the transfer. The pool I'm on pays in odd numbers, not like most pools where it's a static .3 or .5. It pays like .39441698 and that comes through as 2 transactions: .30000000 and .09441698. I just counted, it was 46 transactions. Would that make it take a long time? Should I break it down into smaller amounts?
Nah, probably want to send in as large of tx as possible, to minimize impact of 0.1 fee and additional dust fee. Might want to try mining at a different pool that pays out in slightly larger and more regular amounts though (like 0.5 every time). Agree however in answer to the original question, you don't want your pool to do that. You want the minimum number of transactions sent to you since that will make it easiest for you to spend at the lowest cost. So you should request that your pool improve their payouts or switch. Agreed, I did think it was unusual. I've reached out to them with the suggestion. Thanks for the prompt replies. The one question remains: Will a high # of transactions (in my case 46 to transfer 17.6XMR) cause the transfer to take longer? Or was it just a glitch on Polo's side that made it take 24 hours to arrive?

Hi, quick question..
I had 17.771058420000 XMR in my wallet, and I transferred 17.67 to Polo. Immediately after I transferred it said:
balance: 0.001058420000, unlocked balance: 0.000000000000
which is correct. When I refreshed and saw the transfer go through (purple text) it then said:
balance: 0.000000000000, unlocked balance: 0.000000000000
What happened to the 0.001058420000? Believe me, I'm not sweating 0.001058420000 XMR. I'm just curious, is a tiny balance like that just zeroed out? If so, I will be much more precise in the future with my transfer amounts to make sure that nothing is lost.
Thank you, and continue to kick ass!
I think it got added to your tx fee, since it would be unspendable with current fee structure anyway. It is kinda weird that it showed up as locked balance, but then disappeared, I agree... Pool is down? Cannot connect and website is down so I suppose that's a dumb question. The odd part is that I can't connect to crypto-pool.fr either. Normally that would make me say that it's me, but I can connect and mine on mine.moneropool.org
What's going on?

For 'thin' clients that will definitely be required for broad and widespread adoptance (mobile phones, etc), I think that the processing required for hashing some POW would be prohibitive.
Why would you mine on a cellphone? thin clients will only get onboard after some blockchain-level online wallet or lightclient is developed... This wasn't about actual mining just a tiny amount of PoW to earn the right to submit a transaction and discourage spam without paying a fee. Bitmessage does something similar, and some may be unaware that PoW was invented as an anti-spam measure for email. However, in rpietila's altcoin thread we talked about a billion cell phones mining at night while they are plugged into a charger. That was pretty interesting. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miner.pro&hl=enAndroid based miner that just recently added support for cryptonote coins.. On my Galaxy Note 3 (quad core) I've yet to find a share, and set to the highest priority I can literally watch my battery go down! But it works, I tried it with LTC and got around 3kh/s..

Rig keeps either shutting down or freezing ever 4-8 hours. Psu and cards have been checked in my main computer and seem to run fine. I know the best thing to do would be upgrading but it's just not in my budget right now. Any ideas what the problem could be or what I can check would be helpful.
Rig spec's (from an old Gateway GT5082) cpu AMD 64 x2 3800+ mobo FOXCONN C51GU01 ram 2gig hynix pc3200u-30330 psu cooler master GX 750w gfx sapphire 7990, evga 750ti windows 7
your psu could be failing after a couple hours, that happened to me twice. eventually i got a bigger psu. if it's just *pow* shutting completely off out of the blue then it's probably the psu. in fact, it could work alright in a regular computer because it will only fail if there is massive power being drawn. just a thought.

Hi all, how hot does this algo run on AMD GPUs?
cooler than anything else I've tried.. scrypt was pushing 80c+ during the summer, x11/x13 around 76c and this is running at a nice 72c in my fully enclosed main pc with 2x270x's. My 2nd open rig with 2x7970's runs at 72c as well with a box fan aimed at it. Both are overclocked well past anything I could do with scrypt or x1? 270x's are 1150/1500 and 7970's are 1110/1750. Those clocks would crash any other algo I've tried. Get's me 2kh/s.. anywhere from 2.2-2.5 XMR a day, if I dumped I'd get close to .01btc which I can't see getting reliably from any other coin. That's what I was getting from scrypt in april and x11 in june.. not anymore!

Do you know it would take 0.26296128btc to get FRAC to 45k satoshis on poloniex?! I was messing around today and bought the price up to 1.9k from 1k, placed some orders and guess what? OTHER PEOPLE NOTICED AND STARTED TRADING TOO!!! If you've got FRAC, do us all a favor and start trading it. Let's get something started here. If you look at the 'all' chart there's good history and a ton of potential. Devs should also maybe talk to jl777 about the Supernetwork project, maybe Fractalcoin+Slingshield is something that could be perfect for it. Look at Boolberry, similar chart except for the massive gains lately because they are now associated with the Supernetwork. Maybe it's not right, I don't know a TON about it but it's worth a shot.
I'm gonna keep trading, someone come join me.
