Hello RIOTers, small update for you.
Things are still looking good in implementation of our wallet messaging system, however I was unable to get through the testing completely.
Appropriately, but very unfortunately, the other developer I am working with to complete this feature lives in a country which is currently in a major conflict. He has intermittent power, though truthfully that is probably the least of his concerns at the moment. Development has not fallen far behind, but I do not want to pressure him and add unnecessary stress to his situation.
People in situations like his are a major motivation for continuing this project, and we intend to do just that! I hope to have another update for you all soon, and thank you for your understanding.

Hi Dev,
All that is needed is a quick reply once a day providing a general update of where you are in development. This will automatically reduce the number of FUD attempts and result in a more active community around discussing the ideas behind RIOT coin. For most investors the forum is the only way to interact with the dev team and by being absent for 5 days no one knows if you are working or have decided to quit. From watching other alts, community and dev communication is what stabilizes an altcoin's price and allows new investors to invest with some level of confidence.
You're absolutely right! In the development cycle it is hard to nail down a % to completion, and I do not like to give ETAs because they are always taken as an exact timeline, BUT I believe I am about two days from private testing. Working through a few compile issues and trying to make sure it's somewhat user friendly without sacrificing timeliness. I will let everyone know here as it gets closer, whether there are issues to overcome or successes to announce! Thank you all for your patience. |

To easy for folks to throw out "Scammer" at everything without having researched it properly. Now the fact that Developer shows up every 5 days may be an issue. Sorry for being missing lately, things have been very busy and caused me to fall behind on forum posts! I am happy to say that development for RIOT's QT messaging system is well under way I would like to estimate that it is over halfway complete, but will stop short of giving a date of completion. I will do my best to be more active here now, thank you for the support! |

Hello, RIOT dev here.
I'm working on a nice presentation. For the people who hold RIOT and check the forums, I would like to give a sneak peek.
I intend to add TOR support and possible anonymous function if the community wishes.
As of now I am working on a p2p communications protocol that will allow users of RIOT wallet to send messages to one another or to groups of subscribers. This is step one of my project. It is decentralized and trustless, so you dont need to trust any entities like SSL certificate authority.
All messages will be fully encrypted, and it is designed to keep "metadata" private so nobody can spy from the outside.
Users will be able to collect POS blocks, help sustain the RIOT network, and help broadcast messages around the network.
Users can learn of a broadcaster who publishes content of interest to them. After adding them to the subscribe section, their messages will appear in the users inbox. One will be able to anonymously publish content using the same anonymous identity.
I'd like idea from RIOT holders but the working name is now RIOTCOMM.
I wish to promote news and sharing about positive uprisings against the corrupt governments of the world. Users will be able to connect securely and share information over a decentralized network. I have these ideas after seeing how people in countries such as Egypt, Turkey, China, and maybe one day many many more, are blocked from twitter and cannot communicate safely. I wish to help stop censorship.
It is my wish to implement this distributed messaging system both over regular RIOT nodes and through nodes in TOR.
I have been working on things such as offline notification management problems and spam problems. I will go into more detail about these soon.
I have been working on this project as a standalone application which the QT will tie into via local XML-RPC API calls. However I am considering integrating it entirely into the wallet itself.
All users will have the option to run a decentralized node. The option will be available not to serve content, if you wish to avoid scrutiny.
After this is implemented I plan to grow this project into hosting forums in a decentralized manner, however I will focus on Phase 1 initally.

On my team we also have those with investment knowledge, and we are giving slow updates to avoid creating a huge market spike (and the resulting crash) so we don't have people who buy too expensive and must hold and feel stress. I will talk with the other members about releasing their identities or pseudo-identities. There is some concern because of the type of services we wish to implement. Coin is pretty new, there have been no issues, thanks to the community staking a healthy amount of coins, and because the nodes I host are quality servers.
No premine, coins were mined out within 48 hours. Less than 600,000 coins exist. People are anxiously awaiting news from me. I will release soon, but I'm waiting on more coins to exchange hands first so its not just the original miners holding all.
I'm currently waiting on my graphic designer to finish some header images for the ANN. When that's done I believe we will post news.

This is not a scam coin. Don't be mad because you missed the launch! I was there for it because I take it seriously. Trust me Jarvis, I had no intention of mining this SHITCOIN. No chance. And now I have to wonder if I even want to trade at BitTrex anymore. There can't be any explanation for listing this SHITCOIN so fast other than they were involved in a P&D. If so I would love to hear it. You shouldn't. Just close this tab, sell your rig and turn your back on all this. Seriously, imagine how much time you would save if you wouldn't have to write all these super intelligent posts that no one takes serious anyway. So much free time. Still wondering how the hell it got added to trex so fast its been a day since it was launched. Everyone kept denying instamining but there was and pool.mn was invovled those scumbags. This coin is still way overvalued, not worth 500 sat. I will gladly buy all your coins for 2x your target price  We were added to bittrex because we explained our longer-term goals to them. Where's all the hash coming from? Suchpool has 12GH, the other 2 pools have 0. Yet net is 40GH.
I think someone is putting large rented solo hash and jumping from coin launch to launch. Now suchpool is 13gh and net is 17gh, hopefully other pools. Be back soon, thanks for support all!! |

This launch is not even bad compared to the shit that gets put out in this forum.
The dev saw something, relaunched pretty fast and did a decent job at getting this going again.
now people are upset that they didn't make their miners or connect to the pool fast enough. Fucking happens with every goddamn coin. Get over it.
Dev! Waiting for your plans: -anon? -exchange? -etc? It's coming, we have plans for exchange and also to support those who wish to make changes in the world against the evil ones in power. Will be back with many updates - for now I see launch has gone decently, with no forks, and I must recover myself. |
