1  Economy / Collectibles / Re: AVAST! Bitcoin Penny® Spanish Treasures Collection now be here! on: February 06, 2024, 05:39:41 PM
I understand your frustration, sweeteye. These last few orders are taking much longer than expected. However, we are filling them, slowly but surely. We hope to have the next two orders filled by February 15th, with the last two scheduled for the 29th. Possibly sooner. It's a long slow trudge, but we're almost at the finish line. And I appreciate your hanging in there.

Regards,
Chris@TBPCo.

I am still owed a response to my DM to trade for a copper or silver piece, ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! What kind of pirate are ye if you don't barter fer yer treasures!?!?! Hahhahhahahah I'm laughing at the core of me hook m8tie!! And a bottle of RUM!!!!!!! hahahhahhahah. In all honestly I just wanted to bring a little fun back to this thread, I was loving this idea, and the fact that he is just gone out of nowhere and super unresponsive means that BP just must be on a fucking sailboat in the middle of the caribbean with NO WIFI lmao. Would be a funny story tho wouldn't it? I'm still bummed that you didn't want to trade ANYTHING for your coins, heck you didn't even respond but thats just fine and well, I get it not everyone fancies a trade but my god man we're talking about pirate treasure here and the booty!!!!!! They traded and bartered for everything they got! Can you imagine how loaded those bartenders were back then? Getting fucking gold doubloons or should I say gold Escudos for bottles of rum!!!

LOL I love the pirate personality, tread. Smiley

And I'm still here. I'm simply focusing all my attention on filling the last few orders before taking on more sales/trades. (In fact, we filled a few more gold coin orders last week, so only a couple left in queue.) Once we're straight with the remaining orders, then I'll be happy to take you up on the idea of a trade—one of my coins for one of your coins. No problem. Just let me get these last orders filled first.

Thanks for the morning laugh!

Regards,
Chris
3  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin Penny Company Issues- Undelivered work/Money owed/Lack of updates on: January 06, 2024, 05:08:51 AM
Hello, everyone.

Normally, I choose to stay far away from rumors and blind insinuations, but it now seems that it may be best to address some of the new accusations that are being thrown around about me and the company.

First, we are only behind on six (6) Spanish Treasures orders. That’s all. Six. (Full disclosure, there was a seventh, but that customer still owes $1,000 on their Spanish Treasures order, so we’re negotiating on the balance to get them sorted, and they should be straight by the weekend.)

Second, yes, we had a rough 2023. It was bad, but we’re almost through it all. (As I said, only a few more orders left to go out until we’re all caught up and in the black again.) Having a bad year is nothing to be ashamed of, and I’ve publicly stated that 2023 was rough on the business. That’s no secret. But having a bad year and being behind on orders does not make someone a bad person. A good person can go through a hard time. And as long as that person is striving at their best to make everything good and all customers whole, then they’re doing the right thing in my book. And that’s exactly what I’m doing.

Third, most of the people spreading rumors and accusations had never ordered a single Spanish Treasure and were never owed anything, so I can only guess as to their intentions and motivations for spreading falsehoods about me. (My favorite rumor is that my vehicle is leased. What an obscure lie to tell. It’s so weird. Maybe that’s why I like that one best. Gold star for creativity, rumor-spreader!)

Fourth, I’m truly sorry about Moonie’s struggles with us and PayPal. However, the idea that we actively stopped payment on any refund is simply untrue. The truth is that when PayPal charged that business account for the refund funds, the account didn’t have the full amount, so the bank didn’t approve the withdrawal due to insufficient funds. And after that unsuccessful attempt, Moonie told me that he’d still like the gold coin if I could make it for him, so I told him that I would try to get him that gold coin by year’s end. I mentioned that PayPal might still try to attempt another withdrawal. He assured me that if the withdrawal was attempted and received, then he would simply return the funds directly back to me, provided that I send him the gold coin. So I was working on getting him that gold coin made when PayPal tried the withdrawal again. At this point, I’m confused as to which I should have focused on—the refund or the coin. However, now that PayPal has made Moonie whole, the point is moot. For what it’s worth, I’m happy that Moonie got his refund. He’s a good person, and I like him a lot. To be clear, in my opinion, Moonie did the right thing by stating his case publicly, and I applaud him for it. (I still love you, Moonie.)

Fifth, it’s true that I took a personal loan of 1.0 BTC a few years ago. That member agreed to receive free products from every release as a sort of “interest paid” on the loan as long as the loan was outstanding. In retrospect, I should have focused on paying the loan off sooner. However, that person never once inquired about when I might pay it back, and of course, he was always happy to receive his many free products. However, again, it was my mistake to let that loan go so long, and I fully intend to have that repaid by summer 2024. In fact, I’ll be reaching out privately to that person tomorrow to make the arrangements.

Lastly, I want to readdress the first thing above. There are now only six (6) Spanish Treasures orders still outstanding. That is all. Of course, any outstanding order is bad for business, but it’s a far, far cry from the absurd rumors of Ponzi schemes and skipping town to the Maldives Islands or to wherever one flees with absconded millions.

The Bitcoin Penny Company has been serving the crypto-community for 10 years, and once we move past these last few orders, we plan to unreservedly serve the community for 10 more years and beyond.

In the meantime, if any of those six customers have any more questions or concerns about their orders, they may feel free to reach out to me anytime. I’m not hiding.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, everyone. And have a great new year. Smiley

Regards,
Chris@TBPCo.

Morning, Mopar.

Sorry for the late reply. I was on the road yesterday.

As for the remaining Spanish Treasures orders, the copper coins will be all shipped by Wednesday (only 6 sets left to make), with the remaining gold coins scheduled by the end of the month, with most shipping before the holiday, so that'll be good.

Thanks again!

Shocked Shocked Shocked  Shocked Shocked  Super Big Daddy Bling Bling         ... just a wee little question

So? Is that 1 Kilogram TROY or Avoirdupois. I'm thinking Troy (like the rest of us) but would like to see the markings to reflect that

1KILO= 32.1507  TROY Oz. (roughly)

The troy system is distinct from the avoirdupois system that is customary in the United States. Importantly, the troy ounce is 1.1x greater than the avoirdupois ounce (oz avdp). In contrast, the troy pound is smaller, comprising only 82.3% of the avoirdupois pound. Today, the majority of prices for precious metals are given in currency per troy ounce.

The modern use of the troy ounce may appear outdated, but its persistence into the 21st century provides a fascinating tie to medieval times while also safeguarding the quality of precious metal transactions worldwide. Pennyman? You sell worldwide, correct? I know it's a small detail, but there are many collectors that would appreciate the defining of which unit of measurement you're using. That's a Big Daddy Deluxe  Shocked    lol, I know it takes 2 hands to handle the Whopper, same scenario for this Big Daddy, huh?   Cheesy Wink

 Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Thanks for the great question, Fattcatt. You're right, there's a lot of confusion around the various weight measurements commonly used today. (One reason why I'm a big fan of the worldwide metric system. It's just so beautifully simple.)

Generally, an exact weight may be given by any one of the following three common methods — Kilograms, Troy Ounces, or Avoirdupois Ounces. For this particular project, we chose the kilogram method. However, for anyone who might prefer to know the exact numbers for all the various measurement methods, here's a quick breakdown:

Kilograms: 1.000
Troy Ounces: 32.150
Avoirdupois Ounces: 35.274

Thanks again!

Chris@TBPCo.

Wow!  What are the dimensions of that eye candy?

This hand-poured and meticulously (and laboriously) crafted 1/1 prototype is approximately 4" across by .56" thick and made of solid .9999 silver in a frosted/polished two-tone finish. (With this one, being a prototype, we didn't worry about fine-tuning the final weight, so while it's stamped as one kilo, it's really a little over 1.125 kilos.) We finally nailed down the entire production process of these silver monsters (which was much more difficult than originally expected with a million little annoying tweaks along the way), and the actual official Silver Mini Manhole Covers will be released as soon as we catch up on the current Spanish Treasures orders. Those will have the same overall size and weight as this prototype, but will likely have smooth / polished edges. (Personally, I love the rugged, hand-poured edges, but I understand that I may be in the minority in that respect and that most people may prefer their precious metals with a smooth and shiny finish.)

Chris@TBPCo.

Wanna jump in real quick, these coins DO look amazing in the pics, with Bitcoin on the rise I most likely will jump in at some point and place an order.
Not to be too annoying about it, but I wanna repeat I think it's about time you implement some Native SegWit (bc1q...) and ideally also lightning payment option. Any Bitcoin related business should have these options imho.
All the best,
KW

Thanks for the kind words, gentlemen. And agreed! Native SegWit and Lightning payment options coming soon. Smiley

In the meantime, please enjoy this unofficial sneak preview of just ONE of the many epic projects that have been taking ALL my time over the last few months and driving me absolutely BATTY (more so than usual). This particular project has been in the works since 2021, and the prototype is FINALLY here!

(Unofficially) introducing this marvelous beast — the 2024 Silver (.999+) Mini Manhole Cover (1/1 Prototype). That's right, it's a...PURE SILVER...Mini Manhole Cover!

Wait what?? I can wait, but nobody told me it's been cancelled altogether?! And I've paid for mine...

Don't worry. We've had to put few projects on hold until the start of the year, and this is one of them. We considered the possibility of issuing refunds to the 4 customers (and we still can, if one wished) and canceling the project, since it runs similar to another project that has been in the works for well over a year and is almost ready to reveal (finally!), but we decided to continue the project and just release at the start of our 10th year. But Mopar is right, we had considered canceling the project at one point recently. However, we decided against it.

Thanks again, everyone.

Chris@TBPCo.
10  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] The Bitcoin Penny Company | Updates & Other Stuffs on: November 13, 2023, 03:38:38 PM
Good morning, everyone.

Wow. It's been a long while, and quite a crazy few months. Let's catch everyone up-to-date with all the goings-on at The Bitcoin Penny Company.

First, let me say, that I am personally apologetic for these last few months. We (I) have been so mentally entangled with juggling a number of projects (many years-old) that I've let slip the most important aspect of any business — customer service. We have been suuuuuper late with shipping products, and we've been equally lax on replying to personal messages. In the future, I will correct those short-comings and get right back to where I was only a few short months ago, prompt and leading a company that is full of awesomeness and zero un-awesomeness.

In the meantime, let me tell you where we are on a few of our most recent projects. Some good news, some bad news, and still a little awesome news.

The Spanish Treasures Collection (aka Pirate Coins) — These are a little more than half way complete. As of today, about half of the gold coins have shipped, 90% of the silver coins, and only about 20% of the copper coins. We have readjusted the schedule for this week and next, so we should have all the coins minted and out by the end of that period. (Again, I apologize for the slow process.)

The DIY Silver Dollars (1oz Buyer-Funded Physical Bitcoins) — These coins, on the product ideas books since 2016, were supposed to be out last month. However, we've decided to push back production / delivery of these coins by a couple more months (March 2024) to give us time to fulfill all the other projects in the works. (Way too may projects being juggled all at once!) Customers may expect PMs with more explanation shortly.

The .999 Silver Mini Manhole Covers — This is a super secret project that officially has been in the works since 2021 (but whispered about since 2017). It has been a complete nightmare with a bazillion production problems along the way. Miraculously, the project FINALLY paid off in unbridled awesomness! As of today, the project is FINALLY complete and ready for show and tell with its very own ANN thread. (Please stay tuned.)

As for any other projects that we may be thinking about, we're postponing any until the projects above are 100% complete and delivered, which should be soon.

In the meantime, thank you, everyone, for your supreme patience over the last 2-3 months. We love you, and we appreciate you.

Happy bitcoining! Smiley

Regards,
Chris@TBPCo.

Good morning, everyone. Thank you for bringing to light our suuuuuper slow shipping and absentmindedness on this and other projects over the last 3 months. (And thanks to Anonymousminer for pointing out that this is unnacceptable for any business, regardless of it being ours in this case.)

As many of you know, we've been juggling several projects, many of which are longterm projects that are only NOW coming to fruition, and that means I've been absolutely scatterbrained trying to do everything at once. In fact, I haven't even had a moment to bump this sales thread in over 2 months! (I've been logged in with an open tiny tab on my laptop, but that one tab gets lost in the vast sea of open tabs among which it swims.)

That said, here's the status of this particular project...

Half the golds are already shipped, about 90% of the silvers, and only about 20% of the copper treasures. However, I'm committing to minting the final coins this week and next, so they should all be shipped out by then.

We're only a few short weeks away from having all these projects finished (finally!) and back on track for the easy train of production and delivery.

In the meantime, thank you to all friends, customers, and forum members for a successful (nearly) 10 years in this business, and we look forward to another 10 years!

Regards,
Chris@TBPCo.

Hmm... I just posted a long reply, but it seems to be gone now. Let me try again. One sec...

Confession: I clicked on this thread and saw the start date of November 4 and immediately thought, "Aww. Too bad this is a months old thread. I would've liked to bid on this one." For some reason, I was thinking it's already March or April. My, god. I'm so absentminded lately. Argh! LOL

Anyway, I agree with krogothmanhattan and Kryptowerk. If you can buy an artwork by 1Dq, then I'd advise you to buy it. Personally, I have one, and I love it. (And I look forward to bidding on this one!)

18  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Penny® PAINTED Manhole Covers | WTF?! on: August 31, 2023, 06:10:00 PM
The original Manhole Covers (1) are funded with a complimentary .01 BTC, (2) showcase an engraved copper plate on the reverse side, and (3) are finished with an "antique bronze" weatherproof powder coat.

These painted Manhole Covers are unfunded with no reverse plate, and they are each uniquely hand-painted.

I think that sums up the difference between the original version and this new limited edition version.

And as for the value, I feel highly confident that these hand-painted pieces will hold their values well into the future, just like our original 2017 Manhole Covers. Smiley

Chris@TBPCo.
