Yesterday I opened up my first hobby box, and wanted to share this card that was in one of the packs:
What an awesome piece of history. To clarify, you are saying this is a replica and not an actual item from long ago. I believe it's an ACTUAL item. Genuine. Very old. Regards, Me

- Odds of finding #83 specifically: ~1:300 hobby boxes

I don't think they make a box loader card of the #83 Cryptocurrency. At least, not according to the following Hobby Box product description on blowoutcards.com: BOXLOADERS - 1 per Hobby Box

ALLEN AND GINTER BOXLOADER AUTOGRAPHS – Up to 20 subjects featuring on-card autographs. Numbered to 15
ALLEN AND GINTER NATURAL WONDERS BOXLOADER – (10 subjects) – Some of the most incredible of Mother Nature’s creations are celebrated. Limited to 500
ALLEN AND GINTER N43 BOXLOADER (20 subjects) – Greats of the game on a classic card format. Limited to 500
ALLEN AND GINTER N43 BOXLOADER AUTOGRAPH PARALLEL – Up to 15 subjects featuring on-card autographs. Numbered to 15 Regards, Chris

Do we have any Star Wars / John Boyega fans in here? (Edit: If you look closely, you'll see it's actually a 2017 card set inside the 2018 frame. Must have missed the deadline last year.)

Yeah, but then again... That's a SEALED mini 3-card pack with the #83 Gold Border on the TOP! The odds of that may be worth the money to a serious collector. (Maybe not today, but in 10 years?) Wish I had the extra cash. Regards, Chris If I pull an extra gold border I will just mail it to you. I have always been taught to share with others Dolphriends is awesome!

The second edition minis are likely limited to less than 100 copies.
That would seem about right based on the total print run.. To add a little more info... I read that Topps purposefully holds back a percentage of cards (both common and rare) to use as replacements for any cards that may have been damaged upon arrival. For instance, one baseball card collector recently wrote on a forum that his friend received a 1/1 printing plate in 2017 which had a bad scratch across the surface. He sent it back and received a different 1/1 printing plate (from the same card) as a replacement. That means only 3 of those 4 printing plates made it into packs for the wild. Something to keep in mind when considering odds and rarity for the #83 Cryptocurrency card. EDIT: In other words, some variations of the #83 Cryptocurrency card will be rarer than we think. Regards, Me

The 2nd edition mini's will become difficult to come by since the entire set was short printed and collectors will be hanging on to a few of these. So get them while you can when you see them, just my opinion What do you mean by "2nd edition" minis? Do you mean the Black Hobby X minis? Regards, Chris

Because if you want to get the card out of the top loader, its easier to take a tweezer and get ahold of the sleeve, not get oils from your fingers on it.... because the older a card gets the drier it gets...like a sponge...even on the edges...it's the standard of "taking care" of your cards, your investment, and it says a lot about the current owner...be apprehensive if you don't see a card in a sleeve .....just fyi...the science of collecting has come a long way since we were kids. Nice! Thanks for the tip! Regards, Chris

ALSO get the card sleeves to put the cards in PRIOR to sliding them into the top loader.
Why the double-sleeving? Regards, Me

I know that there is one "Hot Box" per case of Hobby Boxes, and the Hot Box is the same as all the other Hobby Boxes in the case, except that the base cards (full size) of the Hot Box have silver, glossy backgrounds.
Same video, when they found an actual HOT box with the glossy/silver cards: https://youtu.be/Otj9O-_Kkiw?t=2527Yes, that sounds correct to me. There should be one Hot Box per case of Hobby Boxes. (Please take my two pennies and mixed metaphor with a grain of salt. I've only been doing this for a few days.) Regards, Me EDIT: I need more coffee.

Did your hobby box include a full size card? When I watched a youtube video of a case break, each hobby box contained had an oversized card within the hobby box. I was assuming this was that card. But since it's a "hot box" parallel, it may be more limited than that. So what is the regular oversized card called? I'm confused as well.
The extra large card on top? Yes, that's the over-sized hobby "box loader" card. The full size cards are the normal base size (2.5" x 3.5"), I believe. And the parallel cards, I believe, are any non-standard, non-base cards, such as the Glossy Silver, various mini cards, etc. In other words, any series that runs parallel to (but not part of) the standard base cards. Again, that's my understanding, at least. Regards, Me
