OFC has undergone significant improvements since launch

This is 100% untrue. OFC still operates less reliably than it did at Grid Poker, and there have been no other improvements (with the exception of adding HU tables, which I do appreciate).

Should actually be on the top of their list, and should have actually been the first one to launch, since I believe the html client already existed on the previous site which had the same software.
HTML client essentially will allow all operating systems to play, whereas now its only limited to Windows.

SwC doesn't have the same software as Seals did. They bought a Windows client from Grid Poker. (Which is soooo far beyond Mavens it isn't remotely comparable.)

I think we're all in favor of having an HTML client as soon as possible, but I for one have no desire to go back to playing on Mavens. Give them the time to develop it.

Not sure if there were any other big changes, but I can confirm this update finally fixes the problem of the tournament clock running during breaks.

I notice session results aren't cluttering up Transactions anymore (though it would be nice to have somewhere to see them, I still don't entirely trust things to be bugfree) and auto highlight 2-factor on login finally works properly.

Not at all.  To be properly rolled for this MTT, one would need at LEAST a 50k poker BR.

That's ridiculously conservative bankroll management there.

To put it in another context, everyone here seemed to be perfectly OK with Micon playing on SwC before the charges. To me playing on his own site is a much more serious thing to worry about.

If he's rolled for very very tough $500 MTTs then he doesn't need to crowdfund a couple of grand for "legal funds".

This is a very silly assertion. If he bleeds off his bankroll, how does he make money in the future?

I mean, I'm skeptical of the donation thing. Don't get me wrong. But I'm not more skeptical because he played a poker tournament at the same risk level he's been playing all along. (Less risk than playing 10 mBTC pineapple with me, probably.)
7  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: May 03, 2015, 05:15:29 PM
Seriously, guys, it's the $500 8-game. It's possible Micon might be -ev in it but if so it's by $20 or so. He didn't "blow $500." He's continuing to play poker, which involves risk.

I mean, OK, I may be biased cause he's lost multiple BTC to me in the past. But if playing poker was a good idea for him last month (I don't have an opinion) it's still a good idea now.

I guess I should add that I've played against Micon in BTC cash games on Gambit and later on SwC for very comparable amounts of money for months. This is consistent with his prior play, so the stakes don't suggest that he's playing with donated funds.

Can someone explain the legal technicalities of this case to me. SwCpoker was running from Antigua, then why is Micon being charged here in Nevada?

I understand that the legal department knows that it was Sealswithclubs previously but how can they sue someone for running a company/site with different name from different location?

They aren't, this is about the original Seals. And nobody's suing anybody, this is a felony charge.

Though all they have to do is sign somebody up for SwC from Nevada and operating it becomes illegal there, even though it's being done elsewhere. Internet laws are really stupid.
9  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: April 28, 2015, 07:53:17 PM
There is also the possibility that if he goes back, even if there is a lack of evidence that he was operating the original Seals site (which is known to have existed before he purchased his first Bitcoin in June 2011), that they might charge him with a second offense of operating the current SwCPoker site.  Would they be that unfair?

That may explain the delay, if they've been gathering evidence that SwC is offering gambling to Nevada residents, in order to have that charge available in case Micon decides to shut down SwC and return to fight the charge. By US law, it doesn't matter where Micon is, only that he serves Nevadans. Yes, that's really stupid, but governments are generally so about the internet. Of course it's still more likely they were just slow getting off their butts to develop evidence from the seized materials.

In case anyone is worried, I withdrew 12 BTC when I heard about this last night and it was in my wallet in the normal timeframe. (Not because I'm panicking but because it reminded me that I had way more there than I actually need.)

Yeah, I feel so bad for Micon's kid living on a peaceful tropical island rather than in a country that can't seem to get enough of wars, terrorist attacks, and race riots.

With the latest update I've developed a problem where if I close the client, I can't open it again without rebooting my computer. (Win7.) When I relaunch, swcclient.exe starts up in Processes, but never makes it to Applications. It doesn't do any good if I kill the process and try again. Thankfully so far this has only happened when I exit normally, and not on a crash.

If you look in your SwCpoker program folder, and then the general_images folder, do you have that "btn-notes" file?  That's the image for the icon.

I don't have a general_images folder, I have a general_images.zip file. Inside it there is that file, but it has a bright yellow N in it that I'm quite sure I've never seen. It's kind of hideous, actually, and I'm a bit glad I don't have one, so I'm not going to experiment.

I've never had a notes icon on Win 7 native. I haven't played as much on my Win 8 box but I don't think I do there either. Wasn't even aware there was one, though I think I remember having one on Grid.

I appreciate the change from "show open only" to "hide completed" for MTTs, but if there's ever any SNG traffic it's going to be really cumbersome there.

I think if we got a way to filter HU tables out of the Active tab it would probably help the action in the flop games. Even if you want to table start sorting out the 1/6 from all the 1/2s is irritating.

Alternately, it's a good time to learn mixed games and OFC.

Micon, I do think you guys should be using the capability of the new software to have deposit bonuses often, even now. Make them clear really slowly if you have to, but make them large and promote them.

My status on mouseover is now "Leopard Seal." I like it. Hoping I can make Elephant Seal at some point.

I am new to badeucy, why I lost this hand? I am the right side hand. My opponent has J, shouldn't I win?

Ace is high.

LOL, thanks, I read wikipedia, it says Ace is a low card.

This is the difference between Badeucey and Badacey. In Badacey aces are low and straights aren't bad.

Support has refunded a nontrivial amount of money to me for similar things this week. I'm sure they'll be happy to do so for you as well.

Tried a last-ditch attempt to get to the next krill level before the krillback paid out today. Missed it by 17 krill. But while trying to get those extra two chips worth of rakeback I did make half a coin in play, lol. My priorities might be a little off.

I'm not familiar with this.  Is FTP Iron Man a points system? a rakeback system? what is/was it?

Iron Man rewarded players for getting 50, 100, or 200 points each day for 15, 20, or 25 days in a month, obviously with higher rewards for higher levels of play. The rewards were both freerolls and points ("medals") which could be used to buy tournament tickets or cash bonuses, and they increased for each consecutive month you hit the level.
