1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: December 21, 2016, 05:07:18 PM
I got 100% back, but I did it thru credit card when they missed their first deadline and were acting shady and changed the terms.  Been 2 years.

No updates since January 2016.  They aren't going to deliver.

... Rest Assured.

Looks like Alpha dumped their forum or something.  No longer available.

... Rest assured.

did anyone managed to do a chargeback if they paid by Paypal.?

Yes, but I did it through my credit card through PayPal and was able to get refunded through my credit card.  I initiated it back in July when they started deleting posts on this thread and the way they were treating customers on their forum.

I'm still breathing a sigh of relief that I didn't lose anything, especially since I didn't pay attention to the signs that this was way to risky to fork thousand$ over to these bozos.  Other victims who were not so lucky have my deepest sympathies.

...For the first time in a year, they have broken their pattern of at least 1 update a month. They've also gone entirely silent on their own forum, and apparently stopped moderation. ...

They are still moderating and deleting comments.  For instance... this comment will probably disappear soon:

Announcements / Re: An Opportunity For Miners to Become An Integral Part of Alpha Technology

«  post by Burns on February 05, 2015, 10:16:31 PM »
It makes me so happy when my comment gets deleted on this forum, but you guys don't respect us enough to update us or refund us. You I'll say again: I asked you for a refund stating you broke contract. Your reply to me was: no you breached contract because you didn't pay us the full amount. Any reason for that? Any reason for telling me I haven't paid the rest of the money when you haven't even given a DATE YOU WILL SHIP?! YOU broke contract, not me. I was ready to pay. You are STILL NOT READY TO SHIP. WHAT THE LITERAL HELL IS GOING ON? Please delete this comment, too.

Surprised this threads still going. Is the company even doing anything now as seeing OP only made 2 posts since starting thread and then gone in to the land of nowhere.

Actually, they had a lot more posts and were active on this thread.  But, at some point in the May-June timeframe when they started having problems and people were getting antsy about the pending delivery of the miners, they then started deleting all of the posts.  In some of the posts, they were promising delivery no later than July.  To keep customers from canceling orders, they made up some bull crap that they were consolidating all information on their own Alpha T forum and didn't need posts over here.  What they were doing was erasing all the promises of delivery in July and on their forum they can delete any negative posts and can control the information.  I think that was also about the time that their phone was down and undergoing repairs.  6 months later there is still no phone, no address and they've abandoned their crappy looking office.

I have nothing good to say about these guys.  I'm talking about you Mohammed Mubasher Akram, Fiaz Malik, Liroy Van, and Eric Gunn!

How long will this stay up on Alpha-T's site before disappearing:

Viper / What happened here, why refund part of my money without telling anything?

What happened? I am still waiting for my machine,  even  it's super delayed. There are no news, no prototype, no updates, nothing. But today, PayPal refunded my initial paid money, and I am so confused and shocked. I didn't ask for refunding, and you did it without asking me. I fully paid long time ago, what about my other 2/3 money? What about my machine? I checked my order status, it shows my order cancelled! You guys can't deliver the machine any more? If like so,  send back my 2/3 left money too, otherwise, give me the machine I ordered.!!!! I swear I never give up to get my all money back or get my fully functioned machine!!! Answer my question here or send pm to me ASAP! I am waiting for your response and plan my next action seriously against you guys. Let's better find a good solution for this other than some ugly things happen.

This is exactly why I have stopped wasting time on this thread. It's like watching a slow moving train wreck, a few passengers have the balls to jump off and save themselves with the rest hanging on, hoping the carnage comes to a halt so they can salvage what's left.

I've found the crypto community in general to be pretty lethargic and resigned to take scams, delays and substandard hardware as some kind of acceptable loss. While this attitude persists, Alpha, KNC and their ilk will continue to take money and continue to get away with it.

I bailed back in July when they started deleting posts on this forum and the shady activities they were doing on their own forum.  Their phone being disconnected was a big clue.  A company like that had something to hide.  I keep coming back hoping to see others recoup 100% or to see if there is an actual delivery.  Plus idiots like that raj_kapur provide a little entertainment every now and then.

As for what happens now, my guess is that at some point in the not too distant future, Alpha's website will go blank except for a note saying that 'Sorry, the company is bankrupt'.  They will blame someone else for their failures and warn those suing that there is no money left from which to recoup funds.

I hope everyone gets back 100% from these scumbags like I did, but I know that isn't going to happen.  I wasn't smart enough to avoid this to begin with, but I was able to do a charge back early on and get every nickle back.

I hope the Fight Alpha site keeps plugging away at these jackals... posting their pictures, names, and addresses for years to come so that anyone googling these douches will come across it and learn how these fart sniffers scammed people.

I'm talking about you Mohammed Mubasher Akram, Fiaz Malik, Liroy Van, and Eric Gunn!

Is it too late to buy in for their next batch? You'd think they would be focusing on their next product.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who are fully paid up for the first batch willing to sell you the empty promises that they have.

Again others in this thread who got a FULL REFUND via amex in particular and/or cc and or other ...not the partial refund alpha gave out....no 70 pound
penalty or whatever else that alpha states..I mean paypal (more then 45 days) and/or cc company..etc...FULL BOAT refund...let others know on here
please..so we have to help others still in alpha's clutches on here!

I got one thru Visa.   I used the same info that you detailed on Alpha's antics and was told that it is pretty much an open and shut case.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 21, 2014, 01:43:21 PM
I'm here to tell you that Alpha-T is in big trouble. At best they had good intentions but they've strayed from the morally correct path and have gone to the dark side folks. Your money is paying for their homes, cars, fancy dinners, vacations, etc... They are going to dodge and delay until they are checkmated. It will be years before any of them are sent to prison. They are too busy covering their tracks and putting together their defense to ever worry about getting their company back on track. The company is a loss, and it's clear they've cut that loss with the current attitude towards their customers. Why should they be nice and forthcoming? They have no product to sell and If they don't stop taking payments they have no hope of avoiding criminal indictments.

Jrose120,
Interesting analysis of the situation.   Whether you are wrong or right, one thing is for certain... Alpha is hiding something.

Ok, so what is next. Legal options please. They have our money, we want it back, what is the best way to accomplish this?

I cannot begin to tell you how many times their promises have not come through, and how many times they have changed their tos and pulled their own posts and agreements as well as customers.

Again.. where do we go from here?

 Scrap'

Well, if some want to band together to take legal action, I'd recommend first start communicating thru a mailing list.  Although Fiaz and the gang can't ban or remove comments on this board (other than their own), they do monitor it (they're not really all that busy, so they have the time to do so).  Report them to the various bureaus and agencies that have any jurisdiction, and then talk to a lawyer.  If you aren't in the UK... maybe have a skype session or something.

By the way... did Alpha ever get that phone fixed?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 20, 2014, 12:27:16 AM
Note to "The Doctor"

I didn't initiate my charge back because of what someone said on this forum or any other forum... nor did I get cold feet.
I got a charge back by watching how Alpha was treating its customers.  Customers were being banned, posts deleted, and the only updates was Fiaz saying 'Sooooooon'.

Well....   'Sooooooon' is not transparency, nor is it an update.  It was becoming obvious that Alpha has something to hide.

Let me repeat that for you....   It is obvious that Alpha has something to hide.

I just didn't want to risk $20K trying to buy equipment from a company that operated without complete honesty.

I'm sure you're intelligent enough to understand that.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 11, 2014, 12:29:12 PM
FYI All,
I was one of the first ones to jump on the Alpha bandwagon several months ago and I paid my 30% via paypal.
Anyway, after seeing the way they stopped providing updates, the way they treat paying customers, and the shady way they act, I called my credit card a couple of weeks ago and initiated a charge back.

Got a call from my credit card last night and they said that they've attempted to contact Alpha and haven't had any responses, therefore the money has been yanked and I've been fully credited.  Screw them and their no refund after 5 months baloney.

If you've paid by credit card, there is still hope.  If you paid a deposit by other means, I wish you luck.  Alpha is a fraud.  We expected them to ship highly advanced scrypt miners and they can't even get the phone fixed.
