1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MARS] Marscoin - PoW / DGW - Bitcoin on Mars - Colonizing Mars! on: August 29, 2016, 08:52:10 PM
I am still supporting Marscoin where I can..  I have a dedicated miner and pool running on it 24/7.
I was also one of the regular traders on Poloniex and Coins-e (before it vanished off the planet)
I also participated in some of the giveaways.

The incentive to make that 500,000mrs donation to Mars One and the Mars Society count for something one day is too strong for me ;o) as I am an Space Pioneering Enthusiast.   One guy I know designs simulated ROV mars rovers (which hopefully can be linked to rentals from a Marscoin payment gateway one day) which he lets people remotely operate over the internet sometimes and he wants to form an asteroid mining company.

Not sure if helpful to anyone but my pool is here: http://mars.our-game.net  and I have a forum for marscoin here: http://cybernexus.proboards.com/board/30/marscoin (for discussions about the pool or marscoin in general)

If you need active nodes my pool was setup as a crude sort of "supernode"  with a cache of the entire marscoin blockchain when I set it up originally.. so it usually has a few active up or downstream connections linked to it.

I've tried to keep any info i know about Marscoin posted on the pool (and now the forum sticky I added) up to date.

Besides which I still hope to get an online store trading in Marscoin working at some point too one day.  Be it selling Marsbars or in-game purchases.  I am hoping limecart (a coin deamon based php option)  can be adapted to marscoin..  as i really dont like the idea of going through corporate front ends like cointopay or the paypal crypto SDK.

If anyone knows of any current mining pools, or exchanges or online stores or just wants some coins to play with for that matter..  shoot me a message over at my marscoin forum. I'll add what I can to the sticky.

Also POS software that works in Marscoin would be nice too, the only ones I found required API access using your exchange trading logins at several exchanges, and that really sounded unsafe to me..

Cheers

Cudos for keeping the light burning, there really is some unrealized potential in this coin.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Amigacoin - New market on: August 13, 2016, 09:41:53 AM
Mining this on any Amiga will be simply impossible. Even the PowerPC ones have too little power. Looks like a scam.

Well, you have to set up a PowerPC mining cluster then or something. Mining on Amiga is probably not impossible, just impractical  Grin

Should anyone be interested in the source code for this coin it is here: https://github.com/borgcoin/Borgcoin001.git
I have verified that it works by transferring some BRG from Cryptopia Smiley

Great job guys! Keep the good work. I still believe in Teslacoin. Just cant put more energy into it.
Rw13enlib88 , tiredofscams and renbit are taking the lead. They are doing a great job.

I have transfered the twitter account to team and they are working to make everything up and running perfectly.

Will still try to help as much as I can!

Cheers  Grin

Cheers to you as well, old captain! Cheesy Thanks for pushing the ship this far.

Why not send an application for YoBit? Maybe they can list our old SKR! Cheesy

Not to knock YObit in any way, as I do trade on YObit... as easy as it is to get listed on YObit, I don't know if that is the intention of this coin to just get listed anywhere you can for the sake of being listed on an exchange.

If we wait a little more to gain some traction and acceptance as a coin that has experience and acceptance, the coin can choose the exchange it wished to be listed on.

Just a suggestion.

Wise words, yobit doesn't seem to care much about their smaller coins. Some wallets can be in maintenance mode indefinitely.

Berkeley DB version warning

A warning for people using the static binary version of Bitcoin on a Linux/UNIX-ish system (tl;dr: Berkeley DB databases are not forward compatible).

The static binary version of Bitcoin is linked against libdb4.8 (see also this Debian issue).

Now the nasty thing is that databases from 5.X are not compatible with 4.X.

If the globally installed development package of Berkeley DB installed on your system is 5.X, any source you build yourself will be linked against that. The first time you run with a 5.X version the database will be upgraded, and 4.X cannot open the new format. This means that you cannot go back to the old statically linked version without significant hassle!

What this means is that you will have problems opening a 4.X wallet on a 5.X system, but there are tools to convert them. I have myself built TeslaCoin-Qt with Berkeley DB version 5.3:
Code:
ldd bin/TeslaCoin-Qt
...
libdb_cxx-5.3.so => /usr/lib/libdb_cxx-5.3.so (0x00007fb175f4a000)
        ...
That should not cause problems I think, but I recommend building the headless Teslacoind daemon from my repo because there is additional stuff that needs to be done with the Teslacoin-qt.pro file that I have not performed. They are described in the BottleCaps-thread I linked to above.

Ok I've successfully installed Teslacoin on a VM running Ubuntu 16, also done a node for you located at 89.38.147.79 I'm downloading Ubuntu mate 16 for ARM (Raspberry pi3) so i'll have a look at that tomorrow.

Thanks for the node!! Smiley

How is it going?

Well i gave it my best shot yesterday and failed  Sad  i don't think it's possible to run on ARM PI3 doesn't that have a new kernel? maybe if you updated to QT-5 it would work. i was getting database errors msse3.

I have successfully compiled the headless Teslacoind wallet for my Raspberry Pi 1 (there is no use compiling the Qt wallet, there is not enough RAM on it) and are in the process of syncing. Seems to be working. I forked the source code on Github to my own repisitory and made some changes described here for BottleCaps: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=241445.3280

Perhaps it will work on RP3 too? I have not been able to emulate a RP3 yet but perhaps someone that have a real one can clone my repo and try?

https://github.com/TentacleMan/teslacoin-tman

Then build the daemon with the custom makefile I prepared:
Code:
cd teslacoin-tman/src
make -f makefile.arm-linux

The cpu's differ between RP1 and RP3 and there is some assembler scrypt code in there that I'm not sure is compatible but it's worth a shot.

I won't be able to keep my own node up 24/7 unfortunately due to my flakey internet connection...

It's still on Cryptopia.

Is there a dev on this project still?  We have an issue with our wallet we need help with.

thanks,
richie@bittrex

Hi Richie,

Yes, there is dev.

We were building the final team during these week and it's ready to go!

As TentacleMan has said for network issues you can contact him or renbit.

I know we are having issues due to the low number of nodes and being Yobit in a fork.

We are bounting (60kTES) for a raspberry wallet so we can put some nodes and solve this asap.

Sorry for the problems, hope we can solve them soon.

Rw

Hello, I don't own any TES but let me see if i can build a wallet on my Raspberry pi3, i have already built a Tubecoin wallet and its been staking for a few months now without any problems.

If my TES wallet successfully works i'll post the instructions on here. Any bounty for this?

Hi!

It would be great if you could build a RP3 capable wallet since I don't own such a system myself and would have to emulate it on a PC to build one. It's critical to have a wallet on the Pi to get more nodes up and avoid show-stopping forks. Others have offered 60000 TES (see above in the thread) as a bounty for this and I can chip in 5000 myself. Let's see who can do it first, shall we? Smiley

The original developer have left the project I think. I don't know what talks are going on, but I've signed up as Linux wallet builder. PM me the problem and I'll see if there is anything I can do.

Voting enabled at Cryptopia again, vote like you mean it, throw money at it. For the Ents!

Poloniex add real coins with motivated devs and constant development, including a roadmap.

Do you see it here?

"Real coins" Cheesy

But forget Poloniex anyway because coins usually get delisted in an instant because of low volume.

Is this coin dead
or on any exchange?
All our fates are now in the hands of the juggler Grin

Will go higher the price?
Next exchange?

Time will tell. Price might not necessarily go up with more exchanges, buyers are spread out thinner. But a popular exchange can give exposure and more interested buyers too.

what about exchanges ? what has been done since the launch ?

liike.website seems to have gone up in smoke, perhaps it's time to crowdfund a Cryptopia listing?

Site is back up but AGA is in "maintenance mode" (according to Google translate).
