1  Economy / Speculation / Re: I believe everyone should learn basics of TA on: January 26, 2018, 08:04:39 PM
Even if you are a hodler you should know when to buy a coin and when not to. You can double or triple holdings for your coins. I am not a pro trader or anything but I am far from a noob and know when to buy and when not to.
You can make 1000% gains 10 times but you only need to go -100% once to lose it all. Don't margin trade if you don't know what you're ding. There is a guy who went from 3 btc to 200 btc to 0 btc. Pls don't be greedy(Its hard in crypto but you can try).
Remember, bulls make money, bears make money, pigs get slaughtered.

The evidence in favour of technical analysis is pretty weak. It is especially risky in crypto-markets which are unregulated and can be subject to manipulation. I wouldn't want to risk my bitcoins on this basis.

3  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc next dump, which support will it hit ? on: December 04, 2017, 09:25:31 PM
Hi,

lately btc got lot of attention and new comers. The price is going up, right, its no news.

So, in your opinion, what is the support price of btc ?

1.5k, 2K, 4K, 6K, 8K ? more ?

Is it meaningfull in the current mood ?

On which duration would you look to determine the support ?

I think it will be $9k. Right now, there is a lot of nervousness about the Bitcoin futures. We will know in a week's time whether that brings short sellers to the market, or whether people rush in to invest.
If we do not see a dip, then we could have support level of $12k.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC is dead. The plan is a shift to Bitcoin Cash. on: December 02, 2017, 06:42:19 PM
Another inaccurate prediction but this time it's not a forgivable  mistake because we all know bitcoin will never die. It will keep on being the best coin out there.

You don't know whether it is accurate or inaccurate until it is too late. The best play with forks is to keep both branches, unless it is an outright fraud like Bitcoin Gold. That way, you really don't care whether Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash wins in the end. You would have made your money in any case.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 02, 2017, 06:36:47 PM
Both England and Australia shared the 1st day of 2nd test match played at Beautiful Adelaide oval, tomorrow an exciting day ahead, if Australia scores more than 400, then England might find difficult to score as much as scored by Australia

Australia are 209/4 and the match is interestingly poised. I think the problem for England is that when you elect to bowl first, you expect to take quick wickets. The pitch didn't favour the bowlers that much and the call taken by Root to bowl first does seem to be a bit of a gamble. If England manage to get Australia for under 350, I think Root may escape being criticized for not batting first.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin dip during the Holidays? on: November 27, 2017, 09:58:55 PM
It’s been on my mind a bit, do you think that we will see a dip during the holidays from people cashing out? With Bitcoin nearing 10,000$ I am just curious as to whether it’s got a chance to hold it’s value or if it’s a given that people will start cashing out soon.

There was an alternative view on Bloomberg. During holidays, students go home and boast about the gains that they have made. Uncle and aunt think that it is easy money - then put some dollars into it. Price keeps rising.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: November 27, 2017, 09:49:09 PM
Tomorrow just a formality for Australians, they will win the match within lunch, the way Australia bounced back to the match is fantastic. Hats off to steven smith for his fabulous innings.
In the other match, India will win the match. Srilankan bowling looked very mediocre, Kohli toyed with their bowlers.
I expected a much close encounter between the two team rather than a one sided effort, full credits to Smith on how he performed ,When it comes to the Indian series ,it is a expected result as Srilanka has a very weak team, they do not have the strength to trouble any world class players in their line up nor do they have world class batsmen .

Srilanka played too bad on the day. I agree India has one of the best team in the world but sirlanka also has a name in the cricket world. They should have played a little better and could have lost with dignity, and not by a one sided match.
India is really turning out to be world's number 1 team in cricket.

I was hoping that Sri Lanka would take the match to the fifth day, but this was not to be. They crumbled under pressure. Ashwin picked up his 300th test wicket and he was the fastest to this milestone. India will go to South Africa feeling very confident.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: November 24, 2017, 09:02:59 PM
India is in very good position form here provided if they can make a big total in thier first innings. It will not be easy though but still India is very good in batting as compared to SL. So a lead of 100+ runs will add more pressure to SL while batting second and make them lose the match too.

India have played well today, considering that they are treating the Sri Lankan series as preparation for their tour of South Africa. It was good to see the spinners come to the fore on a good batting track. Now it is up to the batsmen to put up a strong score on the board.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin predicted to rise in the coming days? on: November 24, 2017, 09:00:10 PM
I am stuck with the idea of cashing out now or later. Should i wait a bit before cashing out?

Why don't you do a partial cash out? Instead of trying to predict market moves, cash out a bit and hold the rest. You at least lock in some profits and stand to make gains if we have a bull run as well.
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 22, 2017, 06:47:06 AM

Wasn't there a case against Jamie Dimon for market manipulation of Bitcoin, in Switzerland or something? Whatever happened to that case? In most instances, the banks manage to get away by quietly paying a fine.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: November 22, 2017, 06:43:43 AM
At least in the Women's matches, England are doing well. In a T20 against Austria, the English women managed to overhaul a total of 178 with ease. They won with an over and 4 wickets to spare. Danielle Wyatt scored a century in 56 balls.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: The World’s Most Dramatic Bubble Ever? on: November 16, 2017, 09:04:59 PM
First it was tulips. More recently it was tech stocks and then the housing market. Lately, it’s all about bitcoin.

All four share a common denominator: They suffered through financial bubbles, or bubble-like conditions. The first three ended badly. The jury is still out on what’s in store for bitcoin.

If you look at tech stocks, Apple and Amazon rule the world today. The housing market crashed in 2008, but it has recovered. The price of houses are probably higher today than in 2008. So even if so called pundits agree it is a bubble, holding for the long haul may pay off.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do You Think That Bitcoin Will Surpass The Previous Climax on: November 16, 2017, 08:08:17 PM
Climax lol. bitcoin already past $7566, last trade price $7800(bitstamp). we're going above $8k soon, it's exhilarating. Smiley

I would give it a maximum of 24 hours. In this kind of frenzy, if you have a good night's sleep and wake up, the price could have increased by over $1000. It wouldn't surprise me if we hit $10,000 in November.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My advice to Bitcoin newbies: relax on: November 15, 2017, 06:43:23 PM
Yes the best thing to do is just invest in bitcoin and relax. Do nothing else. Because by just waiting you can make a lot of money.
And i think that the price right now is nothing compared to what it will be in the future.

This is easier said than done. During rapid increase in price, there is a temptation to increase exposure. You might know the risks involved, but sometimes the temptation is too great. The same holds true during crashes as well.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC dip over? on: November 15, 2017, 12:43:41 PM
Maybe it will drop a little more on the coming days but it wil still go back to normal. It might actually boom once december comes in especially when CME investors jump into the picture and compete with the current investors.

The price is rising very quickly now. I don't think we will see another dip. Those who were waiting on the airlines during last week's crash might have missed the bus. Once futures trading starts, the price could explode.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mark Yusko is confident that bitcoin will reach value of 400K (link) on: November 15, 2017, 07:03:20 AM
Some of us could hope for a bitcoin value of $400k it is probably years off. There are a few drawbacks if the fee situation is not handled by then.

I am considering the short term goal of first reaching 10k. All such superficial values always looks good to read if it reaches anytime in 25 years also. But the fact that till then things would definitely change and many more obstacles and hindrances would come by then. So lets go step by step to achieve the decent price of btc.

25 years is a long, long time. Some of us might even be dead by that time. Unless you are planning for your retirement, or you are an institutional investor, you cannot look at a 25 year horizon. I am not saying that try to double your money in a year, but maybe you should look at  a 5-10 year period. If you Bitcoin will rise substantially in this period, go for it.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mark Yusko is confident that bitcoin will reach value of 400K (link) on: November 15, 2017, 05:59:35 AM
The media tends to highlight extreme projections like $100K bitcoin or $1Mn bitcoin; or something which says Bitcoin is a fraud / bubble / collapse to zero. That is what gets them clicks and that is what they care about. Those who have invested also feel good with these projections and hence they get published more often.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin has more than 21m supply on: November 14, 2017, 10:04:38 PM
With every fork bitcoin supply is increasing so does the bitcoin bubble i mean everyone by now must be know that bitcoin is a bubble. why? every fork is zero to value! bubble!
but in my opinion bitcoin will be bitcoin forks dont matter they just increasing the coins!

every forkable coin will fail in the future.

just my 2 cents

A fork does not increase bitcoin's money supply. It merely is a gift to existing Bitcoin holders. There is a big difference between the two.
Bitcoin (in whatever surviving form) will continue to have a cap on total supply - 21 Million. Nothing can change that.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if Satoshi Nakamoto dump his 1million Bitcoin Cash (BCH)? on: November 14, 2017, 09:13:52 PM
As per the statistics "Satoshi Nakamoto" mined around 1 million bitcoins in the early stages. So, he has gotten the same quantity of BCH as well.

What will happen if someday he might see his project at risk of overtaken by Bitcoin Cash. Could he be dump his BCH stake anytime?

What makes you think Bitcoin Cash is not "his project", but Bitcoin is? In any case, I don't see him dumping any of his coins or moving them, as they could give clues to his identity. Only if he really needs the money, will he do so.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the btc price correction done? on: November 14, 2017, 06:53:25 AM
What do you think guy's?

Is the btc price correction done?

Or it will go down again?

Or it's time to see the price to the moon?

The emotional reaction after Segwit 2x was cancelled is over. Now people are thinking hard about what are the implications if Bitcoin does not scale. If some positive noise is made about the Lightning network and other scaling solutions, we may stabilize at these levels.
