I've used BitInstant about thirty times since January.  Usually $500, Moneygram from Walmart, sometimes Dwolla, through Zip Zap through BitInstant to my Mt.Gox account.  Mostly it goes through within an hour.  It was stuck for several hours a few times.  The longest was a day.

I've had good service from Yankee/Charlie here on the forum, or directly through email.   I've never lost money to Bit Instant.

Looks like they just made a major upgrade, and there's some hiccups. They've always been solid, and looks like they are trying to upgrade right now.

Izzy/Steve

Using the email us option opens a support ticket

You need to step up and put a statement on the top of the page, specifically addressing what you are doing to fix the failed payments, and the compensation you plan to offer your customers.

I've gleaned the following from your support staff by reading through the many complaint posts on Faceboook:

"We're in the process of getting the system ready to start processing each order.

We're working on getting through the back log, we just have to get the OK from our developers to go ahead and start processing them. The ones from yesterday will need to be manually processed when we are able to."

In other words, you don't yet have a fix for the failed payments, and have not started the actual process of correcting them.

Man up, do the right thing, and make a public announcement! You owe it to your customers at this point.

Furthermore, I do NOT appreciate your "customer service reps" implying that us complaining about a service that has been broken for days is hindering their work. Maybe if you made a meaningful statement, people would back off the complaining a bit.

People can be understanding, but not if you keep them in the dark and feed them BS.

Lmao i mean for real....I feel like a mushroom...get fed shit and kept in the dark!!!  I totally agree with that statement.  A lot of new and old customers are hoping that this business is going to be speedy and great, but open your eyes people and quit hoping everything will be ok with your money and do something about it.  They have cut off Q&A, they are being caught in lies, they are even blaming their customers, they are still accepting new orders on a system that doesn't work (The newb with one post from bitinstant dont count), smells like a duck, quacks like a duck....its a duck!... Smells scandalous, looks scandalous, yep its scandalous!!!!  Haven't we all seen enough business "Crown Legitimate in the bitcoin community" turn around and take our money.  How many times does it have to happen before you say no more excuses and take action.  Start emailing ZipZap and all the other processors through bitinstant...don't sit back and wish for a wonderful quick outcome...its not going to happen.

Yeah,  I used it about five times before.  All the transactions went through immediately.  I read on reddit that bitfloor was insolvent now.  Shit.

It was finally processed 17 hours after deposit.  Now lets  see if I can buy bitcoins and transfer them out.

Four hours ago deposited $611 at BOA.  Still not in my Bitfloor account.  Emailed support they said they were having problems.  That was three hours ago.

I hope they're not insolvent as I read on reddit.

8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The exact shipping day on: March 16, 2013, 01:32:49 AM
Rest assured that anyone selling machines that make money will ship them out the door on the exact day that they can make more money getting rid of the machine than they can running the machine.

That is the exact day they can sell it for more than it's worth.

Understand now?

Youre right, its obvious: it is not reasonable for asic companies to sell miners.

Right, unless they failed math.   It's an electrically powered box full of money.  They'll be glad to sell them on the exact day that they can sell them for more money than is left in the box minus the cost of the electricity required to get that money out.

What do you think they're operating a charity for poor hungry miners?  Giving away money boxes for less than the money's worth?

Yeah! that's it!  They're altruists, only in it for principle, values, and the good of mankind!

Or do you think maybe they're in it to make money?'

LOL.

10  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Have orders on special ATM, ship now or wait? Details inside. on: March 15, 2013, 11:29:36 PM
A friend of mine made some special ATMs and they happen to be full of money.  They give out $100 dollars every day automatically, doesn't matter where they are.  Don't need at ATM card or anything.

Well I put an advertisement on the internet and some people bought them from me.  I promised to send them out soon.  Didn't say exactly when or make any promises about how much money was left in them!

So my question is should I ship them to the buyers now, or after they're empty?  Thanks for helping me with this crucial decision.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Cash deposit worked on: March 15, 2013, 04:03:10 AM
I just did a cash deposit at Walmart and it went right through, no problems.

Haven't had a problem with cash yet.

Out of $504 I got $480.  So that's a 4.76% fee.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitfloor is very expensive... on: March 12, 2013, 09:42:00 PM
I have not had a chance to try Bitfloor yet, but I did finally get bitcoins through btcquick. I like their business model.

Re Bitfloor.

I used their service once.  Please fill me in if I'm looking at this the wrong way.

Their service seems to be extremely expensive.

The transferring of money from a cash deposit at a local Bank of America wasn't bad.

But once the money was in my account,  I had to trade for Bitcoins, and the rate was terrible.

Our of a $500 cash deposit,  I ended up with about $440 dollars worth of bitcoins.

Whereas with BitInstant,  a cash deposit at Walmart, through ZipZap yeilded me with about $480 dollars which immediately was transferred into my MtGox account, and the trade there was at the market rate, which gave me abouit $480 worth of Bitcoins.

So even though the transfer fees through Bitfloor were low, their 'Market Rate' for buying Bitcoins was expensive.

I lost about $40 out of my $500 compared to using BitInstant and MtGox.

Am I going about this wrong?

Thanks.  Iz.

I'm obviously incredibly biased, but for any service of this sort the important thing is that the bitcoins are purchased at market rate on a high volume exchange. Most of our traffic ends up  going through gox for example.

Gareth,

I prefer to use BitInstant,  and out of about 10 transactions, I've  Been happy with all of them.  The longest I've had to wait is overnight.  Now all of my transactions have involved transferring money into MtGox.  I used to use the Dwolla into MtGox,  but that seems to be more troublesome than Cash through ZipZap into MtGox.

Obviously there are some concerns right now with BitCoin.  Because of that I initiated a Bank Wire transfer to MtGox last week, and I'm still waiting for that to clear.

I'd like to continue using BitInstant, and would like to hear your thought and recommendations regarding which service from BitInstant is likely to be the safest and least troublesome.

Is Dwolla to MtGox working now?  I remember there were a lot of 'Account Verification failed' type errors that required me asking for help on this forum to get the transaction to go through.  Out of five or six different transactions, only one went through direclty without asking for help.   I'd like to be able to use that service and skip the step of making a cash deposit at Walmart.

Going that route of making a cash deposit at Walmart has always gone through immediately without any additional help.  I'm concerned though that this, so far bullet-proof type of transaction could fail.  Is it likely to remain working?

What do you recommend?

Thanks,  Iz.

If you find cash deposits easiest then use cash, of course if you ever have issues then get in touch and we'll fix it.

No, I prefer to use the Dwolla transaction.  I use BitInstant to move dollars from my Dwolla Account to MtGox.    The one time it worked perfectly for me I had money in my MtGox account within an hour.  It didn't involve cash at all and I didn't have to leave my desktop.

That would be my preference, but as I said five out of six times the transaction was interrupted by an error such as 'Account Verification Failed'.  In which case I would come to the forum here and ask Yankee for help and whatever he would do would push through the transfer to MtGox.  One weird thing about those transactions is that the funds would immediately leave my Dwolla account, even though 'account verification failed'.  They just wouldn't get to MtGox untill Yankee did whatever he did.

Now I've been hesitant to use the Dwolla transaction since you started having major problems a week or two ago.

Are you having trouble with the Dwolla transactions currently?  Can you tell me when was the last time one was processed on BitInstant?  Is anyone using that service now?

It would be my preference if it worked.  What do you recommend?

Thanks, Iz.

Has anyone had a successful Dwolla-to-(whatever) transfer process using Bitinstant, which didn't require manual processing of some kind? Is this location/verification issue a Dwolla problem, a Bitinstant problem, or both?

Out of  6 or 7 Dolla to MtGox I did have one go through automatically.  All the others had 'verification failed', but they were promptly fixed by Yaankee.

I have done about four or five Cash to MtGox go through instantly.  I just did one about half an hour ago.  That entails going to walmart and at the money center filling out a form called 'MoneyGram ExpressPayment Service'.  The blue form.  You have to use the BitInstant site to set up the transfer, and they give you some numbers to put on the blue form.  Hand the cash and the form to the girl at the Walmart Money center, and a minute later it's in your MtGox account.  She might ask you what the bill is for, just say it's a condo fee or some bullshit like that.

LIke I said I just did it half an hour ago and it worked fine.  For a $500 transfer, you have to pay $503.95, and you get $480 into MtGox.
