Got a reply about my transaction from 2/19. They are still waiting on reserves on btc-e.com but they offered to manually transfer my payment to Mt.Gox or bitstamp.

Same reply here as well.   Hoping they actually do it and that it's not just their new 'canned' reply of the day.  Because really, not having reserves in one exchange is a thin excuse when it only takes 1 hour (and more often less) to transfer between exchanges.   It's like saying... sorry, I can't pay you because my stack of 100's are in my pants pocket and not in my hand.

Just thought I'd post my retroactive review of BitInstant here.

Although nearly-free direct transfer from Dwolla to MtGox would have been my preferred method of transferring USD into an exchange, I decided to eat the 2% fee from Bitinstant to transfer funds from my Dwolla account to the Bitstamp exchange so that I could get started buying Bitcoin while waiting the 10+ days for my identity verification to happen on MtGox (yeah, new account approvals got really slow while the price was climbing from $18 to $28).

Every single time I transferred from Dwolla to Bitstamp using Bitinstant, I got the "Dwolla verification failed — unable to locate" error that numerous posters above have mentioned. Every single time, I emailed support@bitinstant.com. Every single time, Rachel at customer support replied within 2-4 hours of start-of-business-day (Pacific time) and manually processed the transaction.

Because of the relatively prompt (during business hours) email support, this process still turned out to be better than any of the alternatives I considered, but it was still frustrating. I'm left wondering ...

Has anyone had a successful Dwolla-to-(whatever) transfer process using Bitinstant, which didn't require manual processing of some kind? Is this location/verification issue a Dwolla problem, a Bitinstant problem, or both?

You might consider Dwolla to CampBx.   There's no need to have Bitinstant as the middle man in that transaction.   No long verification process as is the case with Dwolla to Mt.Gox.   Then it's a case of just making a Bitcoin transfer to Mt.Gox if that's where you do most of your trading.

... oh, and to stay on topic.... no transfer from Bitinstant to my Mt.Gox account 24 hours after emailing my account information to Rachel.... after she said that she could manually push that through while waiting for their BTC-E reserves (which I don't think anyone wants to wait for anymore.... more and more like waiting for a People Express or Braniff flight).

I did a transaction over 20 hours ago. I tracked my order on bitinstant and it says "Serious Error Occurred"
I was trying to do a cash to vouchX transaction.
WHERE DID MY MONEY GO? I already emailed Bitinstant and have not gotten a response.

How could you, or anyone else in their right mind, still be doing business with Bitinstant at this point?  Their failure to post in this thread in nearly a week is all the confirmation you need that the only "Serious Error" that is occurring is that people are still sending them money.

Bit instant failed on me on two transactions and customer service was not good.

I had to recreate a new e-mail address in order for it to work again. They offered me back the fee's from the issues and I never received those back either.

I think bit instant is a great service but takes a long time to resolve issues.

DAMN! I DONT KNOW!
It has worked countless time in the past and I never had a problem! I just assumed it would be as smooth of a transaction as I had in the past.

It has only been a few weeks since I have used their service and I am absolutely LIVID to hear that they have fallen to silence and are not answering customer service requests.

I got two identical emails saying my deposit should occur later today but I wonder if it is total bullshit. It sounds like others have had the same problem.

Oh how great it used to be. So simple.

STEP UP YOUR GAME BITINSTANT!

It's Monday, 2pm EST, BitInstant's BTC-e reserves are $5 USD, and everything still looks defunct. People are posting about failed transactions that haven't been resolved in weeks.

I don't think BitInstant is scamming, because they did resolve a bunch of other transactions when this whole mess started, but something just doesn't look good to me.

There might be more delays to come.

I think failing to take their site offline while they are unable to make transactions counts easily as scamming.

People are forced to fight for their money which they have already given to them.

Its sad.

I just got a reply from Rachel, she told me reserves on btc-e.com will be fixed tonight and my order will process tonight. This was after they offered to send to Mt. Gox or bitstamp. I don't have an account on either so that was not an option at this point for me.

I didnt get any new emails about my money. I was not offered to have my money sent to Mt Gox OR Bitstamp. I would love my money to be sent to Bitstamp instead of Vouchx.

Why are different people experiencing different levels of care??

I was also told their reserve on Virworx is where it is low and thus unable to pay me.

I've been waiting over 5 days now I've tried contacting support and nothing.  Quite disappointing considering the service was reliable at one point.

I got an email back from Rachel, offering my funds via bitstamp on Saturday. I've been waiting for my btc-e transaction to clear for almost a week- still no funds in either account. She apologized for the delay, I understand they are probably swamped with emails but why is the site still up and accepting money without any warning? Any chance they honor my $28/coin ?  In all if I get my funds tonight or tomorrow I'll forgive them, and use again when the direct to address option is available. It's still the easiest way imo to get coins

It is the end of the day and I have not seen any sign that my money will actually be deposited into any account or be sent to me. I am emailing support a response to see if Rachel has a ETA.

They've been saying that for nearly 2 weeks.  I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that Cash to BTC is all over with as far as BitInstant is concerned.

Honestly, with all of the unresolved issues in this thread, who would be sending them money anyway?  Right now it appears that the money is just going into a black hole, never to be seen again.  Yet people keep posting in here after sending them money, wondering where their order is at. It boggles my mind.

Anyway, alternative services need to arise - fast.
