1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SendChat™ | Messaging App Integrated With Bitcoin & Sendcoin | www.sendchat.org on: January 06, 2015, 09:15:48 PM

You really call this a whitepaper?

Can't wait to see this sale crash and burn (where is the sale, btw?)

Yes this is the whitepaper.

The crowdfund is coming up

Just compare it to any notable, correctly formatted & written whitepaper and you'll know what I mean. This is more of a FAQ you should have on your website. This is literarily, not a whitepaper.

No ICO details have been given out as well. No amount of supply, price, issuance, hell it's supposed to go live today and you don't even give a time. 'Coming Up'? Are you delaying the launch now?

I agree, I lost what little interest I had left after being disappointed by the video. Most cryptocurrencies are dying and in my opinion there's no reason to buy sendcoin (clone coin) as faster confirmation times add little benefit over alternatives.

I would like to give a quick update stating that development is already underway for the features mentioned in my earlier post (staking-mobile wallet, multi-signature transactions, and other advanced network functionality which is still being decided). I will give a release date once development is nearly finished as well as a complete listing of what features will be introduced into the Incognito coin wallets.

The community should be able to get ICG accepted by more merchants and payment processors while development progresses. There's already merchant API tools available for ICG on Cointopay.com to allow quick implementation for any web merchants wanting to accept Incognito coin.

I have already contacted a few merchants and payment processors. Any responses of acceptance will be posted here.

It would seem like someone is trying to suppress the price before the next development release. I'm also going to contact crypto-gambling sites and try to get Incognito coin accepted.

That is likely the case. The price should easily hit past 200 sats after the development release.

https://twitter.com/Incognitocoin  should give the latest development news.

currently hot at bittrex  Grin

The volume has been sustained in the past couple days without a significant change in price so it looks like it's natural growth from the addition of new investors rather than a pump.

but question is where is the dev

From the OP, Chedigital and goldencrypto are developing a brain wallet app and manage the ICG website. Desil works on promotion and business development. Hectortilla and Fernando have contributed in the past and are likely still helping. According to a recent post there's three other developers working with the main ICG team in improving the wallet and adding new features. There's no main dedicated Dev at the moment but rather a collection of people helping.

Historically a develper would post when a release was imminent  as I guess there wouldn't be a point in making a concrete date for release if it relies on the cooperation of multiple people which could be difficult to manage. Although it seems that progress is being made so it shouldn't be too long before the announcement of a release.

Patience is key when investing in crypto-currencies but it looks like we won't need to wait long. As others have mentioned there's a lot of ways in which ATM implentation could be improved. Perhaps Hectortilla could expand the point-of-sale system that he had developed so that it could be used in other applications.

That's a possibility once other network related developments are released. Capitalizing on existing developments by making the features more useful is a sensible plan.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | ATM | on: December 13, 2014, 03:51:18 PM
Currently, I'm communicating with three outside developers in addition to the main ICG team. Plans are being made to focus on the creation of a staking mobile wallet incorporating all of the advanced features  from the main ICG wallet. Later, additions to the Incognito coin network will be added in the form of either additional services added to the ICG wallet or additional functionality to Incignito coin's transaction system.

The core Incognito team is still completing the brain wallet generator app and adding a merchant section to the main ICG website. Merchants are adopting ICG at a steady rate as a non-staking mobile wallet, web-wallet, paper wallet generator, and ATMs are presently available. Development is moving forward as I coordinate the main team with outside developers. More information will be released once development is finalized and nearing release.

At some point it would be nice to see full incorporation of services into ICG so that it would act as a platform. Progress made towards that goal will open up new avenues of development and make incognito coin truely innovative.

Desil's animation and promotion work should help expand ICG's user-base as developments are worked on. Further functionality with ICG will set itself apart from other alt-coins.

If the outside developers agree to join the ICG team then there would be the possibility of having three separate groups of people working on Incognito coin. One would work on the front end and back end of the main website, forum, and wallets. While another works on network developments as another team innovates the wallet and its main features. They could also improve the anonymous transaction system by adding extra layers of encryption for example.

That's great news. All of these developments will contribute to incognito coin and help improve its real-world use. I'm looking forward to more ATM integration and merchant adoption as the ICG team becomes larger and the community helps get more merchants to accept ICG.

Now that the development team is larger more will be acomplished. I'm sure that the community would be able to help with promotion as progress is being made.

I can also see Incognito coin getting accepted by crypto-social networking platforms as the ICG infrastructure is quite strong at the moment. I would argue that ATM implentation is the strongest aspect.

Yes, and that is a necessary feature of Incognito coin as it helps facilitate transactions at physical locations that otherwise wouldn't be possible without access to an ATM. The mobile wallet works well in combination with it.

It's nice to see the total amount of twitter followers pass 1000. I'm certain that ICG will find a specific use in the market through its many features and methods of accessibility.

More planning from the community as what is already occurring seems to help more significantly so we could pour our efforts into tasks to improve acceptance of Incognito Coin. It already has a lot going for it going by previous development releases and a relatively large development team who have a proven track record.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | ATM | on: December 12, 2014, 04:12:43 PM
I've noticed a increase of 300 twitter followers since the past week. Nice animation videos at the main twitter page: https://twitter.com/Incognitocoin
The PR is being handled well while development is moving along. With more community involvement, more payment processors should accept ICG.

Yes, I've noticed this as well. Everything is looking strong as a formal plan is being made involving the community and a network of developers. I'm pretty sure there's at least a few other alt-coin ATM providers out there besides Generalbytes where ICG is already accepted.

With all things considered, ICG is doing well with a transparent developer team who have a proven track record. Developments to the API for Web merchants and ATMs are all things to look forward to.

I agree with you there given the recent scandal of bitbay. It's important to have trust-worthy developers who have a history of delivering what they had promised on-time.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | ATM | on: December 12, 2014, 04:55:11 AM

The coin has been well distributed since it's first launch as summation of volume is quite high and it's relatively cheap at the moment. Demand should grow once additional blockchain tech and services are built upon Incognito coin and therefore providing a greater real-world utility beyond the traditional role of a crypto-currency.

That's quite likely as ICG continues to gain new users. It shouldn't be too difficult to organize community ran efforts in the thread regarding Incognito coin.

Eventually additions to the ICG forum and website would better facilitate community discussion however for the time being this forum will be sufficient. Having additional technology on ICG's blockchain would be the greatest goal as it would further expand Incognito coin and allow it to be more easily improved by volunteers and the dedicated developer team.

There's a lot of options in how improvements in network development could be made on ICG. Although the existing infrastructure consisting of a web wallet, mobile wallet, brain wallet app generator, paper wallet generator, tens of nodes, and etc are sufficient for the current user-base. Of course new developments will give ICG more of a purpose as an actual service platform and therefore create a larger user-base.

The main payment process, Cointopay and Generalbytes ATMs are both located primarily in the Netherlands so it would be nice to branch out and get listed on other payment/ATM providers in other locations. Again, it shouldn't be difficult with the ATM API already available, but there's a lack of alt-coin ATMs at the moment. In fact Generalbytes is the only alt coin ATM provider that I'm currently aware of so perhaps there should be a focus on payment processors instead.

Although it's better to think outside of the box and find new ways to implement the closed payment system while serving a practical role. Honestly, I believe that it wouldn't be out of the question to see the appearance of QR readers in certain metropolitan stores that accept alt-coins. In my opinion the mobile wallet is already sufficient for physical payment locations but it's always better to have more payment options than less.

That's a good point. There wouldn't be much of a purpose in spending development time on further ATM integration if there's literally no other alt-coin ATMs. Since the point-of-sale payment system API could be ported over into other projects or applications then it wouldn't be too counter productive however. Getting more payment processors to accept Incognito coin would be an easier to task so maybe that's where the community should focus its attention on.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | ATM | on: December 11, 2014, 07:06:47 PM
I've noticed a steady increase of twitter followers by 200 to over 830 in total over the course of one week. I agree with the earlier posts in that the PR seems to be managed well, and volume seems to continually be higher now that Incognito coin has more attention. Looking back through the thread, all developments were delivered on time so I place my trust in the ICG team with the current developments in which they are working on. I actually live somewhat close to one of the ATMs so perhaps at some point I can visit one and record it while depositing ICG with the mobile wallet.

I'm certain that every Incognito Coin community member would appreciate it. Once there's greater organization it should be possible to more efficiently reach out to potential web merchants and ask them to accept Incognito Coin.

Right, organization would go a long way in creating a collaborative group of volunteers for development, promotion, and support. As a community based coin in which a lot of help was already received, there's a growing number of people who are improving ICG either through development or promotion. I can only see future user adoption to increase as more projects using ICG are started.

I can already see a lot of organization and community support forming. Later as it further develops, promotion and development will gain more momentum.

I agree with there. I've already contacted a few merchant shops to accept ICG so things are moving along. Upon the creation of a platform based on ICG then it should be much easier to launch future projects and services.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | ATM | on: December 11, 2014, 05:03:08 AM

If that's the case then it should likely be easier to implement as adding a network protocol with ICG would likely be time-consuming. A separate application will allow faster production and possibly more features. The app could even incorporate a QR scanner for use at Generalbytes ATMs to withdrawal and deposit Incognito coins.

That sounds interesting, I've been looking for an alt-coin with ATM integration. A stronger infrastructure should provide a stronger future in my opinion.

ATM integration is the strongest feature of Incognito coin and it should further be expanded into other ATM providers since the API is easy to port over. I believe that the QR scanner feature is already available in the mobile wallet but it would be nice to have it in another separate application as well.

Yes. the mobile wallet has a QR code scanner feature, but it would be possible to take all of the improvements made to the web wallet, mobile wallet, brain wallet app, and desktop wallet and apply them to a single application serving as a platform to facilitate decentralized services. I don't see any possible conflicts as each wallet or application will fill a specific role and supplement each other.

Good ideas so far. Of course whether this will later be implented depends on the limits of the ICG team as they are already busy with their current tasks. Although I'm sure that they will focus on these concepts later.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that there will be also Altcoin ATM's? on: December 10, 2014, 03:22:21 PM
Incognito Coin is already integrated into Generalbytes ATMs using a custom built Point-of-Sale API and there're located throughout Europe.
The Dev team is seeking to get supported on other ATM providers by porting over the API while using the closed payment system to develop web merchant checkout tools.
They are also supported on the payment processor Cointopay.

To build on top of the ideas already presented, The future service platform could use ICG as a form of payment solution with the focus being anonymity.

Perhaps it wouldn't neccesarily be a platform but instead  integrated into the wallet. Either way whether a service built upon ICG within the wallet or in a separate application should be able to communicate across multiplatforms to make it viable. Eventually that could lead to the development of additions to the ICG network beyond the recording of transactions into the block chain.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | ATM | on: December 09, 2014, 07:23:19 AM
I'm going to contact goldencrypto and try to help setup a merchant section to the icg.io website. Also I will introduce the idea of having a another sub-section where it's possible to download or import the Merchant API, logo, banner, or any other accessories available for Web merchants.

That actually gave me an idea. We could try to setup a form of start-up platform on the main website where individual users could contribute and propose suggestions since it's a community organized coin. The forum is functional but it would make sense to have a place where it's further organized and consolidated like on the main Incognito Coin website.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll further discuss these propositions with Goldencrypto and Chedigital whilst communicating with an outside developer. Currently, progress is being made with the development of new wallet features in addition to the development of an automated ICG brain wallet app. More information will be released later once the determined set of features are finalized and developed.

That's good. I can definately see a use for the brain wallet app as it's more secure and decentralized than a Web wallet.

On top of those mentioned developments, I'm interested in later developments of a service platform built upon ICG. It would probably make sense to focus on more ATM providers and merchant expansion first though.

It could even be a business platform with Voip, chat, file sharing, and ETC but it would make more sense to get accepted by other service platforms for the time being.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: December 09, 2014, 01:17:20 AM

whether the innovations are note worthy are debatable however I'll list them. Also, Chedigital and Golden have both developed Incognito coin outside the main wallet by working on the front-end and back-end of a web wallet, brain app, website, merchant API, and forums well before a developer was ever payed. The brain wallet app for Incognito coin is somewhat innovative as few if any coins besides Bitcoin has automated generation for brain wallets.  I would like to point out that Hectortilla had never requested payment for the ATM API developed for Incognito coin which utilized point-of-sale (according to thread history). In hindsight there could certainly be room for improvement but I would argue that PR was handled quite well as Desil volunteered to make promotional videos of ICG while the Incognito coin twitter account garnered over six hundred followers. Beyond the earlier mentioned features, There's already a web wallet, mobile wallet, and a full API for web merchants to accept ICG.

I think that you may be missing the big picture in that the ICG ATM API was independently developed as a closed payment solution by directly exchanging coins through Bittrex and several Hot-wallets without the dependencies of other APIs owned by a company. Meaning that there's no propriety restrictions in it's usage allowing it to be ported to ATMs, cash registers (hypothetically), Web merchants, and other instances where point-of-sale is required. Essentially, it's unique in that a third-party hot wallet is not required for its usage meaning that the whole transaction process is more decentralized with less single points of failure. There's only a handful of alt-coins which use ATMs (Gulden, Bitstar, Doge, ETC) however all of them require a hot-wallet operated by the ATM service provider. I realize that my post is long-winded but I wanted to emphasize the differences in Incognito coin and how it's innovative in at least one way.

Good post, although you forgot the anonymous tx system when you listed out the features. Ultimately a coin's value is determined by its utility and actual practical usage in the real world. I've seen many coins with significant development and innovation isolated to one key function eventually be forgotten due to a lack of practical usage beyond the speculative trading in this forum. The fact that ICG already has been extensively developed upon for the purposes of accessibility and usage contribute to one of the reason why I personally invested in it. Most coins fail to articulate their actual purpose and proposed usage and typically never reach a stage to be considered widely adopted. I see this as an exception with Incognito coin as it's main slogan states: "IncognitoCoin's mission is to create a simple and intuitive anonymous coin through the concerted efforts of a decentralized community." The growing list of merchants and real-world usage in ATMs, web merchants, and physical payments using paper wallets is a testament to this.

Those were fairly accurate statements. Overall there's quite a lot different routes in how development could be approached. I would recommend seeking new sources of capital by partnering with established companies for mutual benefit.

There's been a steady increase in transaction volume. it looks like others are recognizing the innovation in Incognito coin while a dedicated team is working behind it.

I see an uptrend on the horizon.

Indeed, ICG has been oversold for quite a while. The new innovations and developments arising from incognito coin is certainly note worthy.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: December 08, 2014, 11:19:13 AM
What is everyone talking about? More volume, more exposure, more...?
The coin is at such a low that the marketcap of it is shrinking. I find it very strange that happened at same time as Neutraltc was getting out, needed funds for new coin?
This used to be an interesting coin and has since regressed to a point of not being relevant. Don't say it is in ATMs as unless you can show me how many people use ICG in an ATMs, it means nothing

Personally, I'm more interested in what innovative developments will result from this coin like the incorporation of ICG into ATMs that you mentioned. The price has indeed shrunken, however I'm confident in the ICG team delivering upon the developments which were proposed earlier. It is after all a community effort so it's always possible for volunteers to innovate and improve this coin. Future relevance would depend on community involvement and interest which so far seems to be growing.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: December 08, 2014, 01:32:57 AM
After reviewing the ATM API developed for ICG, I noticed that it uses a point of sale system which is rather innovative by itself. I'm surprised that Incognito coin is selling at such a low price after development and incorporation of ATMs, mobile wallets, web wallets, brain app, and new wallet features. User adoption seems to be increasing.

That is correct. A point of sale system was indeed used in the ICG ATM API allowing for quick transactions. The Incognito Coin team is currently seeking for more ATM providers as the existing API should allow for quick integration and broaden the potential user-base.

It's nice to see the ICG team being active. I believe the web merchant API also uses a point of sale system so the same benefits should apply towards any online shopping that is done.

I can confirm that they both use point-of-sale systems according to cointopay.com. I had no issues with the mobile wallet so far, but I can see a lot of avenues for later improvement as things progress.
