Thanks for the info nito

Nobody designs an exchange in such a way, that the funds are directly transferred between wallets. If he had refunded anyone, the it's very likely, that he had recovered the wallets and he has problems identifying who owns what. I am 99% sure of that. I only see 2 other options - either he lost the wallets in an unrelated incident or refunded people from what he earned on his mining pool. Either of the two would be bad. It would be equally bad if it turned out, that Chris refunded people in an ascending order of the height of the claim - that would mean, that he is short on coins. However if he refunded anyone from the wallets, that he originally had in the exchange, I am 99% sure, that he has all the coins. Hence my proposition - please PM me to confirm, that you would like to join that deal. It would be nice if everyobdy did and Chris could refund us according to our claims(provided, that they sum up to the total amount of the claims)

I can confirm that this is not the case. I had my coins tracked when I sent them to the exchange, and they were sent to another account about 1 month after the crash. So the wallet is not lost, this is sure. DoubleC told me that the coins were recoverable up to 2 hours before the crash, the problem was confirming the veracity of our claims.

BTW I will join any collective movement. Count me in.

I paste the last state from the site to keep the post up-to-date.

2013-04-08: Work is still ongoing in recovering the transaction and wallet data from the exchange drive. I'll report here when I have more information. If you have data that will help identify you as the owner of an exchange account please send it to the email or bitmessage address at the bottom of the page. An address you deposited to or withdrew from and your account name, contact details and a namecoin/bitcoin address to send funds to will speed things up. Those that have already sent details I'll contact within the next couple of days all going well.

The mentioned addresses are:

Email admin@bitparking.com for queries or send a bitmessage to BM-BbgTgGa6LX3yYqwJSwdwrzysvfWjM2u6.

For new readers who get here it would be better to continue the discussion in the post where doublec (the exchange owner) has given info before: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=165153.20

This update has been posted on the site recently
Quote
2013-04-05: It appears the namecoin exchange has suffered corruption on the drive holding the exchange data which caused the crash. I've now got a disk image of the exchange and will be working on recovering the transaction data this weekend. Once this is done I'll post a status here of what effect this will have on trades that occurred between the last backup and the crash. Once a state of the database is determined and balances of coins in the exchange wallet are recovered I'll bring up the site for withdrawals only and the exchange will cease operation.

I used the service yesterday before the shut down, and I'm pretty sure it said "one time use and for a period of 240 hours", yep 240.

The site owner just posted a message on the site. It's down and unable to be started remotely.

A quote of the message:

2013-04-03: The machine hosting the bitparking namecoin exchange has gone down and I was not able to successfully bring it up remotely. I'm working on getting it operational again and hope to have more information about the state of it tomorrow. Email admin@bitparking.com for any queries.

I find it reasonable also.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current BTC price in every post on: September 22, 2011, 01:20:21 AM
Do you know what would be really useful? If every post in Speculation board had the current price added automatically. This way one could easily place people's statements in price context.

If for example someone would post that they expect drop to $1 the forum would add information that the price at the time of posting was $6.

I understand that adding this is change that might not happen for various reasons, but nevertheless - what do you think?

I truly do not understand the point of this "5 posts" minimum. Are you guys  trying to encourage spam? A troll will only spam his 5 posts in 2 minutes and be over with it anyways.
Spammers/scammers will always find a way. But these restrictions let the forum get rid off the lazy ones

Yeah, 5 post is not a very strong way to stop spammers but at least is a start point.

Iīm a newbie but I find this restrictions necessary.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me ! How to build a PC for bitcoin mine ? on: September 11, 2011, 06:02:26 PM
Donīt forget that you will need at least 600W if you plan to use 2 cards in the future.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust No One on: September 11, 2011, 05:48:49 PM
you need to consider the EV of spending all of this time securing ur bitcoins vs their actual value.
if u only have 5 bitcoins, who cares about all of this security?

+1

I donīt think this is for people who is just trying bitcoin with 1 or 2 coins.
But as any other kind of money the system itself should provide the security, otherwise the "normal" people wonīt use it as have been said already.
