Today is the heliacal rising of the star Sirius, and is associated with Osiris, the God of resurrection in ancient Egyptian thought, and this is the perfect day to start a novel proposal hack for a Namecoin hard fork named OSIRIS based on the principle of recycling un-renewed coins. The concept of expiration is already present in NMC but instead of wallets that expire, are domain names. The basic idea of OSIRIS is that un-renewed or forever lost coins due to lost private keys are recycled back into the ecosystem, rewarding them to miners at their expiration date. This idea has matured over many years and there is a post in the project direction NMC forum describing this as well. Does anyone feel betrayed by the lack of general interest and fresh ideas around this coin and is concerned that their investment will disappear soon as it seems to sink ever more into the mud as time passes? Does any one want to join forces and fabricate a hardfork that would make their NMC investment float and survive in the challenging waves of the present sea of crypto novelty?  You do know that when Osiris was cut into 14 pieces - with Isis and her sister searching and reclaiming the parts - that only 13 were recovered, right? Osiris never got his dick back. I don't know about anyone else but I am not interested in any project where there is a chance I can have my manhood eaten by an oxyrhynchus fish. Thanks for your views. I have had a somewhat different experience. Some of the statements in your post makes it sound like you work there. Maybe they are quotes that you pasted in. In any case I hope someone who does work there reads some of the critical comments in this thread, so that hopefully they can improve. I use both Quad and Kraken. Things do seem to work smoother at Quad, but things have been getting better at Kraken with recent updates, which are still on-going. And a lot of the problems are a result of the recent influx of new sign-ups( which maybe Quad has less of, making it less apt to get bogged down ). Apart from the slow-downs from overloads etc. I would say that technically, in terms of trading options, security features, and other functionality, that Kraken is a better site/organization. Much better than Virtex, which I was a member of since its start. And there is one BIG problem with Quad that Kraken is much much better with: Customer support. Consider this comment from a few posts back. I have heard this from others and have experienced it, to a certain extent, myself: STAY AWAY FROM THESE UMMATURE CHILDISH people trying to manage an exhange-

Kraken, in my dealings with them, has always been professional, responsive and courteous. They seem a lot more aware of how frustrating it can be for users when it comes to problems involving their money. The support staff at Quad seems just the opposite. Words like "childish" are what came to my mind as well. I will continue to be a member of Quad but I find myself using Kraken more often if for no other reason than the peace of mind of knowing that if something does go wrong it will be taken care of as quickly and professionally as possible. I do have criticisms and concerns about Kraken as well but this is a Quadriga thread so this isn't the place for that. I find that I can express those criticisms to Kraken directly without the fear of a petulant vindictive response. |

I was not going to respond but then I saw your tag line so in the interest of clearing confusion and for information only: Bitcoin cash is actually bitcoin in my informed opinion. it is not called bcash. that is trollspeak. The abbreviation is bch/ xbc for now.. Additionally and more importantly there is a thing called freedom of money. And yes it is different that access to money by right or by privilege (though those are fascinating topics worth study too). Anyway freedom of money can be measured since money is a commodity of sorts and can be measured as it moves. The choke points and bottlenecks and various regulations are all factored in to give a final rating. Democracies can also be rated in this way... Things like if you are granted access to information, government transparency, etc are factored to give a final rating of 1-10. Well right now bitcoin is suffering from a severe reduction in the freedom of money it once enjoyed. What is more tragic is this was imposed from the inside! So while there are countless examples of nations regulating bitcoin into the ground externally it still survived only to be encumbered most from the inside. I therefore will caution when calling the people working on bch idiots when they are just responding to the situation. The alternative would have been to let bitcoin die on the vine as people will use other coins to transfer amounts less than several million dollars., we are already seeing it in smaller amounts now. People on the bitcoin thread are genuinely scared and with good reason.. I think merge mining with namecoin is worth looking into for bch Says the bcash idiot who is also pushing something called trumpcoin. This is a namecoin forum. Go try and pump your shitcoins in the proper area. |

If you can't select all the way down to 0 or 1 sat/b (as has gotten nextblock confirms when I looked at recent blocks within the last day), it's not 100% custom.
And they support this. They always had the option to allow you to manually customize the exactly amount you want to pay on fee with a textbox, and they also have a option to enable dynamic fees, where they will give you a few options based on calculations on their side - just like I said above. Tools -> Preferences -> check "Edit fees manually";  WTF is that a screenshot of? Not Mycelium Android... Electrum. |

Didn't realize that. /edit: I even tried running armorydb manually with these switches: --db-type=DB_BARE --ram-usage=1 --thread-count=1

Basically, you need to create a fresh with DB_BARE once, and that will fix your issue. Thanks.  First I sent you what I thought was the relevant part of armorylog and then sent you the full logs twice... I just went ahead and dumped the private keys and imported them in electrum in order to send the btc I wanted to. Does armory no longer work on a win 7 machine with 9 GB of ram? |

Under the help menu I chose the 'Rescan Balance' option to see if that would help
and when I restart armorydb crashes when it gets to Rescanning Transaction History...
I tried reboots; reinstalling the program... Armorydb crashes every time at that point...
/edit: I even tried running armorydb manually with these switches: --db-type=DB_BARE --ram-usage=1 --thread-count=1

I re-installed 96.1.
After starting up bitcoin core I start armory and it starts up quickly (I don't see armorydb... it runs in the background now? )
In the bottom right it shows as connected and with the proper block count, but the color is purple and saying "RPC disabled!".
I have this in my bitcoin.conf file: server=1
and it is in the 'Bitcoin Home Dir' pointed to in Armory's settings.

On Windows 7 with Bitcoin Core 14.2 already running before starting Armory.
Everything is synced and seemingly running normally.
I open up the send dialog and fill in all the information.
When I hit "Preview Transaction"... nothing
When I hit "Send!"... nothing

I tried installing 0.96.1 but the same thing. I went back to 0.96 because with 0.96.1 I had to manually start ArmoryDB.exe before starting ArmoryQt.exe and that got really annoying... and after a few restarts and reboots ArmoryDB.exe started crashing everytime I tried running it.
bitcoin.conf contains these lines:

Update: I have now received the Lumens for the Ripple I have. 1 Lumen for each 10 XRP. So if you are claiming in the Ripple-Lumen Program you will perhaps have to wait a few days before you see your Stellar balance increase. Anyone tried to claim Lumens for Ripple? I followed this procedure to claim Lumens for my XRP: - Authenticate with Facebook.
- Enter your Stellar public key or generate a new one.
- Send a small amount of XRP (even 1 drop is OK) to the provided Ripple address with a displayed destination tag. Please note that we will not be able to send your XRP back!
- After receiving a payment to the provided Ripple address, lumens will be sent to your Stellar account.
I got confirmations that the 0.000001 XRP * I sent from each Ripple address went to the supplied Destination Address. I remembered to add the DT (Destination Tag). I am still waiting to see any Lumens show up in my Stellar balance. How long is it expected to take with Ripple claims? Yup, like when the gov didn't like people using drugs and they started a war on drugs and now nobody can get or use drugs anymore.  Guess what, they don't like people using bitcoin and encryption either. Do you think they will be any more successful at stopping it? They are perhaps just smart enough to know they shouldn't even try as it will just make people more aware of the gov's powerlessness to control it. So I checked and I actually had clamav installed. I am pretty sure thought, that it didn't do anything, since I didn't let it delete anything.
I also have ufw installed, which also shouldn't do anything. Can I make Bitcoin Core check the blockchain maybe? I didn't find any option for that anywhere.
Not sure what the name of the arg is, something like "-checkchain". Make sure to delete your armory databases folder after that. |

I put into the 'Bitcoin Home Dir' field the location of another Bitcoin installation on an external drive (HD).
So you have 2 copies of the chain to begin with? It's on an external drive that can be plugged into other computers. I don't run multiple instances of Bitcoin Core at the same time. I don't see it having anything to do with the problem I had. Oh damn! I looked at the shortcut for my original installation of Bitcoin Core and I see that I have pointed it to yet another chain (my C: drive was getting full ). When I point armory there everything works with that installation now as well... Sorry for wasting your time.  |
