Dear all,
Before our project can move on to the next step, we need to ensure that our client will be completely scalable and stable from its core.
Please report if you are holding significant amount of VTR and experiencing low usability (client freezes) and if there is any improvement after block 1,300,000.

I'm running windows 10 and client 0.8.1.1 - no problems with client freezes. Staking well. Thanks for your work so far Dev - we are all eagerly waiting for the Torrent functionality! |

Wallet 0 has sold 400K, probably pissed off waiting for dev.
I don't think they sold - hasn't been any large sells in the last few days. More likely he has withdrawn 400k from Bittrex. |

If purevidz.net site is taken down which is fairly likely considering there is a bunch of copyrighted movies on there for free viewing - then the VIDZ token will be worthless.
That's the key difference between the two projects.

Actually, I think staking is different. You can see your coin weight / network weight now. May have to wait for devs for new wallet release.
Yeah i see that too - staking values were always 0 for both before the fork. |

Stalled because 1 person who was buying has stopped pushing the price up. Everyone is probably waiting for the Hard Fork i guess.
There are plenty of people, even in this thread, that have all said the same thing: waiting to see torrent functionality. Even if it was a basic video showing the torrent tab, which is clearly visible in some of the dev images, the price would reflect the boost in confidence people have been waiting for. You can even see the BitTorrent tab in this iPad port demo: https://youtu.be/5fyK0z5APXIWhich makes me think that the BitTorrent code is in the current client - just not enabled to be used. |

Okay, I understand that it is PoS but it is listed as hybrid PoW/PoS. Also, it seems there were working scrypt mining pools at one point as I read back in time in this thread. What am I missing?
My understanding is that it started as PoW but later went to PoS. one of the old timers can chime in I've only learned of the project relatively recently. |

I'd like to mine VTR but cant find a pool that is up and running. Maybe I'm just tired...
Anyway, does anyone know of a good active pool or list of active pools? Thanks in advance.
It's a Proof of Stake coin not a Proof of Work coin. You can "mine" VTR when using the staking function in the wallet - but you'll need purchase VTR from an exchange and have them in your wallet to do so. Having said that there are pools that mine on different coins and then convert into your desired coin - but i have not seen one that supports VTR. |

Has the torrent function actually been worked in yet, as promised?
Not yet - the Dev is still building the groundwork for the torrent functionality. I wouldn't expect full torrent functionality until the 2nd hard fork around February. I'm guessing the release in the next week will have a number of "under the hood" changes and improvements. yeah, pretty much gave up on this one a while back. if it wasn't ready to deploy with at least a hint of the promised features then why post it, lol. It's not as easy to just build in a simple torrent client into the software - any developer can do that. But to tie it into a token payment system for sharing files as well as implementing anonymity features makes it about 100 times more difficult. Any one with a technical / development can relate and knows it takes time. Everybody else just has a royal whinge. That's life in the crypto dev space.... I am a dev and the point is that we don't post every idea here the second it hits our heads, we don't announce things until we are within at least the six month range of making it happen, that way people don't lag around for MORE THAN SIX MONTHS waiting on people to finish what they started That 6 month range is something you have made up arbitrarily. The VTR dev has announced no such timeline for any feature whatsoever. |

Don't worry about Duke - he just wants it fully open source so he can fork it and create VTR Classic.

I can confirm here too that buying on Bittrex i'm able to see my holdings on the distribution graph.
If you have a look at the VTR rich list - the ~850k holder isn't in there:

There is several explanations for this - but I'm assuming this just means Bittrex must spread out the VTR that they hold on the exchange across multiple wallet addresses for security reasons.
Correct. They keep internal ledgers of individual accounts. When that person removes all of their coins (if they do) then whatever address they send it too will have multiple inputs. Whenever you deposit coins to Bittrex those coins are stored in your personal wallet address until someone withdraws the coins that you sell. They are not transferred to new wallets upon being traded. Only Bittrex's internal accounts are changed. Cool that makes sense. Cheers! |
