Hello,
I've compiled the coin daemon in Ubuntu 16.04. When I try to launch it says config file not found. What is the solution for this?

Thanks

Edit: Okay I finally got the daemon to launch and now it says "failed to connect to any seed peers". So do you have list of nodes?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PK] Pennykoin - Make crypto great again. No ICO/premine POS/POW on: February 03, 2019, 02:30:53 PM
Hi. What exchanges are you currently listed on? I can't get the wallet to work on Windows or Linux. Tried different platforms, dependencies, etc. Simply will NOT compile. Not sure what the problem is there. Anyway, I'm mining the coin and the only place I can send it is an offline paper wallet which I don't even know how to retrieve the coins from. I'm sure you can see my dilemma. I'm hashing quite a bit so I really need somewhere to send the coins. Thanks. BTW, a mobile android wallet would be awesome!!!

AWESOME coolness!!! I'm redirecting my miners today. Great project. Crypto definitely needs to be more user-friendly for the masses that don't program in 10 or 12 different computer languages. Good job. I like it!!!

Okay, so if we're going to get Aeon relisted on Poloniex it has to have a website. Any recent progress in that area?

Well, I finally broke down and decided to launch the daemon on a spare PC running Ubuntu 16.06 rather than my laptop. Thanks to advice from jwinterm I was able to successfully bootstrap the blockchain and recover my wallet on what is now my Aeon node PC. Mining on sumominer now and its a world of difference. I still don't know how much I was losing by mining on minergate but it was a substantial amount. Now my mining rewards match my hashrate almost exactly and I'm averaging 99% good shares. Very happy now. GO AEON!!!

Does anyone know how to recover the simplewallet from the mnemonic phrase? I've read a few vague explanations of how its done but none of them were specific enough. Someone said open simplewallet with --restore-deterministic-wallet. How? I've tried everything I can think of and none of it takes me to a screen that asks for the mnemonic phrase. I'm stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The system in question is running Ubuntu. Also, where is the blockchain.bin file stored on a Linux OS? I'd like to jump-start it with a bootstrap but I can't find where it stores the blockchain.bin file. Remember, this is Linux not Windows. Thanks in advance for any help.

Go to the folder where simplewallet is and type:
Code:
./simplewallet --restore-deterministic-wallet
Then follow the instructions.

Blockchain is stored in your home directory in .aeon folder by default (folders starting with . are hidden folders, in case you weren't aware).

Thank you so much. You just made this so much easier. You're a cryptogod among mere mortals.

Can someone please launch a MyAeon webwallet so I don't have to download the whole friggin blockchain? Hint hint Smooth hint hint. I've given up on the multicurrency wallets ever adopting Aeon. Don't know why but none of them have integrated Aeon. I haven't found a pool that allows mining Aeon direct to an exchange. So where does that leave me? Sadly, mining Aeon on Minergate's pool with Linux is my best option at this time and that kind of sux because I don't really trust Minergate.  Angry

Hello, I am thinking of mining this coin. what sort of machine would be recommended?
Is it better to use a pool or my own rig?
I have never mined before, so am a total noob

Thanks

You can mine with a CPU or GPU. Use one of the pools on the first page of this thread.

How do you mine the cryptonight-light algo with a GPU? I thought it was only mineable on CPU's. Just asking because I don't know of any GPU mining software that supports cryptonight-light. Any information would be helpful. Also is there any talk of a web wallet? I love mining AEON but keeping the whole blockchain on my PC is not an option.

My Suprnova XMR account page still will not accept my payment address. I've tried several of my addresses and every time it just says "invalid address"!!! I've been mining there for days now. I wonder if I'm mining for free.  Cry

I'll be voting for you today on RAWX. My interest is mostly centered on the mining aspect of this coin. I hope you don't go in a direction that makes it pointless to mine. I live in the Philippines and have unlimited access to solar energy so I can pretty much mine whatever I want and still turn a profit but BTC has unfortunately become cumbersome to mine because of the hardware and space requirements. I shut down my asics and use GPU rigs now exclusively. This coin, like Ethereum, is easy to mine and turn a decent profit without a lot of headaches. Keep up the good work and good luck in the future.
14  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to fix dust transactions? on: February 16, 2016, 04:25:21 AM
Its donations for some of the coding that I do. Yes, the donations are small but they add up. Where can I find a wallet that consolidates the inputs into 1 output?
15  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Why does electrum take an hour to make a transaction??? on: February 16, 2016, 04:09:09 AM
Thanks for the feedback. I'm still learning here, but I do know that blockchain sends it immediately to my exchange wallet. They seem to charge more but the transaction is fluid and flawless. I really like the fact that Electrum is kept on a bunch of servers all around the world and also a copy on my mainframe. That makes me feel better about things like EMP attacks and server failures. I do receive a lot of small donations which may result in the problem that I'm having. Thanks again for cluing me in.
16  Bitcoin / Electrum / Why does electrum take an hour to make a transaction??? on: February 16, 2016, 01:48:50 AM
I'm just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this question. I use Electrum and Blockchain as my 2 primary wallets. Electrum often takes an hour or more to complete a transaction and sometimes it says payment sent but the payment was never actually sent and takes days to return to the wallet. Blockchain, on the other hand, is instantaneous and when it says the payment is sent it immediately shows up in my bitcoin exchange account and I can cash it out to my bank account within a few minutes. Why is there such a huge difference between Electrum and Blockchain?
17  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to fix dust transactions? on: January 21, 2016, 09:27:07 AM
Got the same problem. All of my other wallets will consolidate the inputs but Electrum is a pain. It broadcasts the output as 200 inputs which screws me every time. About to quit using Electrum. I can send 200 inputs to Blockchain and it will transfer it with no problems. Electrum gives me the dust error, and the we wanted more fees error. Electrum is CRAP!!! I tried to send a transaction with a 10% fee today and it still failed. What a load of crap!!!
18  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Transaction Still Pending After 3 Days on: September 16, 2015, 01:19:03 AM
Okay, the crisis is over. I upgraded to version 2.4.4 and now the coins are back in my wallet, minus the mining fee, which is kind of strange because the transaction was apparently never propagated. Just glad my coins are no longer in limbo. WHEW!!!
19  Bitcoin / Electrum / Transaction Still Pending After 3 Days on: September 15, 2015, 10:52:52 PM
Hi everyone. I sent some BTC from my Electrum wallet to another wallet that I have at Coins.ph. I do this every couple of weeks or so and I've never had any problems until now. I sent some coins 3 days ago and the transaction is still pending. I used the same fee that I always use which is 2% more or less. Blockchain website says no transaction matching the hash. I tried reinstalling the wallet from seed. Same result. Here's the hash: 21eaf8b1be25c1d8cf81d20b074d8e1c17c7d178691196ac452ed6adbbd1bccd. I tried everything that I know of and I'm still stuck, transaction still pending. Any ideas? Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I sent another transaction later and that one went through but the first one to Coins.ph is still pending. This is very frustrating. Please help.
20  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: epay.info scam on: March 24, 2015, 10:34:48 AM
To shed a little more light on the subject, I'm the owner/manager of an internet cafe and computer repair/upgrade business. I have a LOT of free time on the internet and surfing the faucet sites is just a diversion that I engage in while I'm waiting for software to load (if I don't have a good movie to watch). It just irks me that they locked my account TWICE and when I sent an email asking what the problem was they sent an automated email saying that they don't answer emails anymore and I should log into my account and send a ticket. WHAT?!?!?! That's kind of impossible since being locked out of my account is the problem. LOL!!! Yes, its a scam, and a very aggravating one. Don't travel down that road. Hehehehe.
