I'm sorry, but there is just no way bitcoin will be more valuable in 5 years.
That's like saying that the current iphone (iphone X) will be more valuable in 5 years than now.
Why on earth would anyone pay more for btc when there are so many better choices out there?
And you think in 5 years btc will still be the best blockchain out there?
No way.
But, in the short term, I still think btc has one or two more pumps in it.
It would be beneficial to still keep a btc based portfolio then sell it off when we see it hit 15k usd or more.
But after that, migrate your portfolio to something else.
you have to realize that all of these bitcoin hodlers are mostly basing their analysis off of their own experience, which actually isn't relevant anymore.
we are beyond the hodl era.
Theres no reason why bitcoin wont stay king even if other superior blockchains exist. If bitcoin continue down the road that some developers are taking it (store of value) then since its been around the longest its also one of the most diluted coins. Any new contenders have to dish out coins one way or another be it icos, giveaways or however they decide but theres still going to be large coin centralisations. Even bitcoin still has large whales meaning centralisation but of all the coins its had the longest amount of time to dilute its supply amongst thousands of people. And as the total coins are divided more and more between a larger amount of people the value is sure to rise due to the limited supply. |

Realistically i think we will be lucky to be breaking 20k by 2023, This current bear market we're in isnt going to end any time soon. The last bear market too years to correct and theres no reason why this one wont take just as long. As for Ethereum i dont see that dying anytime soon either, its price will recover in time with bitcoins. For the record i dont hold any ethereum but im still confident it will rise.

Ive noticed that waves are getting integrated into the ledger now so coins can be safely stored, This was one of the reasons i sold a while back was because of concerns about staking and security. Does anyone happen to know if it would be possible to stake when your coins are in ledger or would you have to have them in a waves wallet or something? Might be a nice time to buy back in.
Staking on Waves is only possible when you store your Waves coins in the Waves wallet. Staking on waves is called Leasing. Thanks, thats what I was wondering. Was hoping of the possibility of leasing from within the ledger but looks like that won't be possible. I'll keep an eye on waves anyway just incase it ends up exploding like ethereum did. |

Id sell all of those listed. Some ive had luck actively trading but longterm i dont see them recovering to previous highs. im surprised ripple is still a top ten coin.

i got breached in the 2015 bitcointalk hack so my email and passwords are out their but ive changed passwords a few times since then. im not sure what use a password reset would be to try and infiltrate an account unless they had the connected email password aswell but im fairly confident its not been breached.

this is a long term bear market weve now entered. imo price will be stagnant and dropping back below support levels for a long time. realistically id say we are about 3 years away from another pump like was seen at year end.

Ethereum is still overpriced. Still far too many whales holding thousands of tokens keeping the price high and still possible for them to make massive sell orders pulling the price further down. Even at $100 its too expensive imo.

The days of mining with low powered devices is well and truly gone. Nowadays you need powerful graphics cards or dedicated mining equipment (asics) in order to make any profit and even then some would say you would be more worthwhile just buying the coins/tokens you would wish to mine.
With your iphone and mac you would mine negligible amounts not worth the effort im afraid.

The reason you would have wanted the 1060s would be for the power efficiency rather than the ability to over clock, This is the reason youve seen people lower the power limit to 65 since this will cause the card to draw less watts. My 1060 pulls 60w yet still hashes at a decent rate, Id advise going for efficiency.
You can use something like msi afterburner to over clock each card in the rig of 6. I dont think its possible to over clock them all with one profile over individually.
Best way to test mh is just run whatever coin you want to try.

Whats everyone favorite 1080 ti to get?
Asus STRIX  Gigabyte, EVGA and Strix if they dont have the other two. All the Asus Strix cards have double ball bearing fans right? I assume that makes them super reliable and lasting? Ive got a asus strix that i use the fan on 100%, unfortunatly one fan failed but i bought the card second hand so hard to say how much it had been abused. Replaced the fan with a new one and back in action. A 1080ti kfa2 thats been run flat out fans for about 6 months with no problem and a msi 970 thats as old as the hills with no fan failure yet. Even if they do fail its not a major operation to replace them. |

Im not too fussed if the campaign is over since i dont really post enough to make any kind of serious money from it but if theres a chance the wallet will get filled again then ill just leave the signature on and scoop up anything for when i do. I cant actually remember the last time i saw the button work though, Even at the best of times it would go empty for weeks at a time. Im just more inclined to think its never getting filled again due to the price of bitcoin now.

Harddrive space is cheap. The argument was always that nodes must be available for all users to run no matter what income but why would anyone that cant afford to send a fraction of a bitcoin bother to run a node? Scaling is going to be an issue for a while but why not uncripple bitcoin in the meantime until the lightning network can actually deliver? Where have you been in the lats year? This was the main debate before the SegWit came to life and before BCash was forked out of Bitcoin. Just do your reading. The ones believing Core developers are correct and just increasing the block size is not an answer are here. We believe that SegWit, LN and the future development will get Bitcoin on track. The others have their altcoin and their dreams. BCash, from what I know, has increased size blocks, although I am not certain, I didn't follow that path. Lightning network may well be the correct path to take but that doesnt get around the problem that we have today, The mempool is huge and transactions are far too expensive and only getting worse. Its no use lightning coming in and working a year from now when bitcoins lost all its value to a competitor. Im suggesting raising the blocksize to give us some breathing space untill lightning can be implemented. New poeple using bitcoin can already see its lagging behind and the only alternative if they want to do anything is to use an alt? Thats not great publicity is it? |
