I usually use TDP 60 for maximum energy efficiency, i don't OC too much.

Am i wrong ?

Is it good for all algos or for each algo the TDP can be regulated better ?

I pay high electric so I try to max out TDP vs hash too, eve3ryone is different

I picked up a set of 7x 1070Ti cards today (yeah i know not 1080ti), looking for a good route on mobo/cpu/ram(4G?)/psu(2x750w?) for them, assuming i use the SimpleMining OS from usb stick. my local shops dont carry low-end CPUs so im pretty much forced to order my celeron (or a ryzen?) off amazon

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!

Same here I have a 1700 and it does pretty good.  Cryptonight works well with it too.  Definitely profitable.  It can't touch the speed of a GPU of course.  After electricity $50-60/month profit is nothing to sneeze at though.  Maybe people aren't cheapskates like me lol but I look at it like the CPU will pay for itself after 4-6 months.  Why not do it?

Now if I could get away with putting the client on the 2500 computers at work...  Not gonna happen though.   Cheesy

All the Asus Strix cards have double ball bearing fans right? I assume that makes them super reliable and lasting?

Ive got a  asus strix that i use the fan on 100%, unfortunatly one fan failed but i bought the card second hand so hard to say how much it had been abused. Replaced the fan with a new one and back in action. A 1080ti kfa2 thats been run flat out fans for about 6 months with no problem and a msi 970 thats as old as the hills with no fan failure yet.

Even if they do fail its not a major operation to replace them.

These cards are insane......they do XZC in silent mode if not overclocked!! Which one else can perform this?

Do you guys happen to agree with these recommendations on which cards to get: http://www.gpuminingresources.com/2017/12/complete-1080ti-comparison-and-rankings.html

Right now looks like the only real available card from the S tier is the asus rog strix, may have to start with that one.

I have 2x gigabyte aurous and 2x gigabyte aurous extreme  1x zotac amp extreme core and I am satisfied with all of them they all give approx the same hashes at similar overclock  under Tdp
gigabyte has better temperature but the fan speed is faster
Anyways whichever 1080 ti u get except the blower fans , will most like give similar performance , hence get the cheapest one available or which looks appealing to you

Amen to this.  I don't know why so many people act like there is not a shortage of cards and they can be selective.  The correct answer right now is "whatever is cheapest"
