1  Economy / Lending / Re: Small urgent loan required (0.08) on: October 29, 2015, 11:05:45 PM
I am with different hosting provider, but they have the same ability

I am happy to do that and will do it now if required, I need a lender to get on board and facilitate the loan then.
2  Economy / Lending / Re: Small urgent loan required (0.08) on: October 29, 2015, 10:46:26 PM
I have a domain I can put up as collateral, largely worth the amount requested

got that from reading your reply btw so thanks

4  Economy / Lending / Small urgent loan required (0.08) on: October 29, 2015, 10:16:48 PM
Hi there,

As stated, It's seriousness for me personally is truly important, I don't have collateral but can provide quick repayment:

Amount - 0.08 BTC
Required by - Now
Reason - Emergency
Collateral - None(this acc but don't think it's worth that)
Repay by - 6 Nov 2015
Amount repaid - 0.0912 (14% interest)

BTC Address - 1LKhtaZN5WnQnHzhNppma54gjXTFoVX4ZK

Honestly, no motives or plans to waste people's time or money, nor default, it's serious enough for me, repayment is early, you're help would be very much appreciated, really!

Cheers
Zulu

5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How has discovering bitcoin gambling affected your life? on: August 26, 2015, 07:12:33 PM
It's let my gambling addiction continue as banks etc. (and i do mean etc.) wanted nothing to do with me anymore. It was a damn hassle funding off-shore books with fiat at the end of that chapter of my life.

However, i do like how i have a choice to continue to gamble or not. In no way am i implying bitcoin is at fault for my addiction.

In short: some days i love BTC, some days i do not  Smiley

I like your last statement, and that's largely as far as it needs to go, with many aspects of life, other than gambling, you can apply the same principle.

I think the alluring idea of that "big win" will forever be enough to entice people to return over and over and over again, and now you add stuff like online ease, simple use of services, maybe simple fiat payments/cards/withdrawals/loyalty programs etc...

There are so many things that can and are introduced into the Gambling world to keep people around, And well, if you look at lets say "top 10 pay outs for this week" and it's accurate true information from the Gambling service, then you would see, they actually do fork out a fair amount of funds back to the players, the number of players is small, the rewards are not, everybody is largely working kinda "together" and the winner takes some of my money/some of yours/the next guy and so on, vicious circle, but a business model nonetheless.
6  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: does location affects mining performance? on: August 26, 2015, 06:50:37 PM
thank you for the detailed explanation jonnybravo  Smiley

scenario is exceedingly unlikely true that !! curious if there is a formula to calculate performance per Watt...

   can you please explain to me more the "7.7 * 291,036 = 2,240,978 TH/s = 2.24 EH"
many thanks!

 Huh

If you had a formula to do that, what would that benefit you to have that answer? if the device/hardware has a stated rate of performance i.e 7.7TH, then that is the output you are likely to get from it, when you switch it on, what could affect it differently?

I can only think of things like

- Temperature
- Humidity
- Cooling (positive affect of course)

If the vendor selling the miner states "Up to x.x TH/s" or "Best effort" then it's got other defining factors, but to my understanding, it has a base set of power input it requires to run, and after that, the power factor doesn't make any difference other than the cost to you the individual and up time etc..

Or are we talking about the "Clean Power" vs "Power" because I don't know what the difference is?
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How has discovering bitcoin gambling affected your life? on: August 24, 2015, 05:04:31 PM
Well, the game of DICE has been around for a very long time, the only thing really that changes in this instance we talk about is the currency used to play with. sure technology has spurred it along to pretty incredible levels such as the bitcoin equivalents of it, but largely, just as the game has been around for generations, so has there been some interesting very profitable wins, and some down right heavy losses.

I enjoy the DICE game's, I agree it's fast, however that's where the auto playing bots come into play, and what I mean by that is, it doesn't change the speed, however you can govern the rolls, the bet increments, the win/loss increase, I think if you do your research, spend some time understanding the fundamentals, and make "smart calculated risks" I think in the long run, you can profit.

DICE Games or "Gambling" for that matter, is not the issue or disease or reason for any "misfortune" it starts with a human, making a choice to partake, and if he is weak willed and really pushes things out of bounds to a point where he is at a serious loss and in trouble, he largely brings that upon himself, any gambling mechanism wasn't invented to ensure every single individual on earth would "get his share"

All you get is, a simple statement to say that you can take a gamble and boy ohh boy can it pay off, IF IF IF you get it. For every action, there is an opposite and equal re-action.

Here's a Scenario, you never see/hear/read of it because humans are for the most part incapable of doing it:

If you played any Gambling related game, and you give yourself a floor and set amount to work with, and you vouch to completely stop for that particular instance the moment you have profited 3% from the floor, and return only the next day, what is the outcome of that?

That's the difference, mindset and clear calculated risks that make sense and WILL pay off in the long run, or a super lucky situation that also of course halves the time and is awesome, or the complete opposite.

9  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] SpaceBTC.com - Get early access. Ready to trade BTC like a star? on: August 24, 2015, 12:27:33 PM
Looks interesting, i will keep watching this project closer.

We need a better bitcoin trading platform.

Thanks for your comment escalicha. Stay tuned because we're going to constantly update our threads!

I'm not so sure, i think there are various people claiming to have the "Best Trading Platform" I think many are good and equally many are bad, the biggest fundamental stuff missing is, and this is not the complete list:

- Support
- Response Times
- Supported Currencies
- Ease of deposits/withdrawals

Site looks neat and wording/professional approach seems to be the core, looks promising enough to keep an eye on.

Hi and thanks for your opinion cryptozulu,
SpaceBTC team has been testing and comparing exchange matching engines. Benchmarks results show that you will operate with the fastest matching engine.

As well, we agree with your fundamental stuff list! That's why SpaceBTC offers:
  • Realtime support in our site
  • FIX/FAST API - Fastest matching engine
  • BTC - LTC pairs. Other cryptocurrencies will be added soon
  • Credit cards, SEPA, Wiredeposits and withdrawals

Hi there,

Thanks for the detailed feedback, I have to say, based on the items listed above, it does sound like you have done due diligence in many aspects of your new exchange, and largely answered the call of many call it "problematic" areas. How would one go about getting an invite to the platform? I would be interested in getting a hands on feeling for the features/services

There is a phrase and I quote "Occam's Razor" meaning "the Simplest answer is usually the right one" To a degree based on your approach and wording, you are talking about something that seems to resemble some of it, or at least gives a A+ effort, everything cant always be simple, however one must endeavor to really try and keep it clean, I think the end user enjoys that more, its a busy buzzing world out there, people have so little time nowadays for overcomplicated platforms, I think a big reason people don't actually consider many services today. Having a feature rich platform is one thing, but ensuring that all the pre-marketing discussions and flaunting of said product is accurate relevant to the actual platform, is vital.

Such a big thing you see nowadays with any "cryptocurrency" related start up, always quick to jump to the generic "We are the best, We are the fastest, we are the this and that" but you need to ask yourselves that, and do research versus other's before you"

Anyway let me know about involvement or invite, other than that, looks professional, engaging and is a good start, best of luck.

I have always wanted to give this a shot, I can recall the days of having an urge to try the online poker rooms, this was without bitcoin of course, but still now with the much better Currency haha, it's time to rehash the old thrill of the game, I'll take a look at the results of pull thus far and poke about for a bit, due diligence is key here if yo want to make smart choices Smiley

12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How has discovering bitcoin gambling affected your life? on: August 23, 2015, 12:29:27 PM
By finding bitcoin, my life economical state doesn't really affected with it (mostly because i just have a small fraction of bitcoin) but still i got to know more about cryptocurrency and decentralization which is changing my view a bit Cheesy

Come to think of it, you would rather want to stay in a position where you say "I only accumulate small amounts of Bitcoin, so I wouldn't know how it affects my life until I have been able to either profit greatly or experience a bad losing streak"

The fact that you don't know how it feels, is actually your safest "bet" haha Smiley but again, unless you can make smart calculated clearly thought out bets/plans/plays and you are very sure it will pay off, then you can change that statement Smiley

13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How has discovering bitcoin gambling affected your life? on: August 23, 2015, 01:06:24 AM
Hmm, hasn't really affected my life as such, at least not yet, and I am talking about this from both sides, good and bad. I guess you need to either experience a serious losing streak or some crazy ongoing winning streak to really have that true feeling of any of this having and adverse "effect" on your life. However, the word "Gamble" pretty much sums all of this up for you really quickly, it's up to you to device on what side of the fence you want to be, here are your choices:

1. Flip out get mad crazy, do something that you will regret, complain and blame a bunch of systems/people/tips/stats for the loss
2. Go back and say the word "Gamble" to yourself in the mirror for hours on end, then check dictionary and confirm what it means

You either are a smart/analytical gambler who steadily increases his profits with smart calculated risks
You either snowball and make big mistakes and really go down to a level that you might likely not get out of, or you get in the books of the wrong people (not recommended)
You have one hell of a "lucky" break, and that is pretty much what you need to remind yourself is one of the fundamental things people forget, you are taking a gamble, so, how many "wins" do u want until you back off, and how many "losses" can you afford and is the smart choice...

It's a tough space to play in.... pun intended Smiley

15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: does location affects mining performance? on: August 22, 2015, 11:32:49 PM
The more Bitcoin nodes to which your own node is connected, the quicker you will receive transactions and block notifications.  Further, the better connected you are, the less likely chance you have of any blocks you find becoming orphaned.

Power to run a pool... that's actually pretty minimal.  Got a spare server around?

Estimating performance of total power is pretty vague.  It depends on how much of that power you use, and what hardware you have.  For example, let's say you truly can use that entire GigaWatt for nothing but mining gear.  If you used Antminer S5+, you could have ... let's see... just under 300,000 of them?  (A billion watts available, each S5+ takes 3436 Watts...).  I'm sure you don't have that kind of power at your disposal... but just for fun, that would mean 7.7 * 291,036 = 2,240,978 TH/s = 2.24 EH... or roughly 5 times the hashing power of the entire network.  Following this through, you'd expect to make 20,770BTC a day in the current environment.  Of course, you wouldn't really make that for long because with that kind of mining power you'd expect to find a block every 103 seconds or so... so about 830 blocks a day.  You might make that for 2 days, then the difficulty would adjust.

Ok... enough speculation about a scenario that is exceedingly unlikely to occur Wink

Thoroughly enjoyed that imaginative piece there hehe, thank you sir!

But yes, enough of dreamy dream land, back to the real world, answer remains the same, yes it's possible, no its to much time and effort and funding, there are many parameters.
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: does location affects mining performance? on: August 22, 2015, 02:53:23 PM

Maybe this has been answered before, as i try to educate my self more about aspects of BTC would like to ask
if you don't take into consideration different cost of electricity in different places,
how does location affects the performance??

Many thanks!

Many aspects affect your overall mining experience, some quick items:

- Geographic Location
- Humidity
- Seasons and Temperature
- Cooling
- Quality of Hardware
- Power Cost
- Efficient Power utilization
- Smart Monitoring
- "Green" power possibilities

- Power availability - For example where I am, we have "load shedding" meaning that specific suburbs are grouped together during a week, and will be cut from power for 2-3 hours more than once a week to ensure that the national power grid can not fall over, mostly due to bad management/oversight on power consumption and requirements, the point is with mining especially now, you cannot even consider 30min of downtime since you worked out and calculated exactly how u would profit, it didn't include power outages, if you dont have power, you don't have miners, you don't have btc, you lose.

Honestly, if you had hashed the idea of jumping into a mining project, I guess from the onset there is enough out there to tell you, it will not come cheap, it will not only require x2 R9's to profit like a boss, it will not require a single power plug into a normal wall socket thats "not" UPS capable etc..

Mining has scaled sporadically but with haste, to a degree that, yes there is still potential, yes to many things, but you need to research really perfectly, in order to weigh the pro's/cons and make the decision, I think's its largely more "impossible" nowadays than it was before, and that's not showing signs of improving, most likely wont since it's a saturated market at this stage.

17  Other / Off-topic / What do we think about the new MS Browser "Edge" on: August 22, 2015, 02:45:10 PM
Thoughts?

Of course many/most people have long since moved into the Firefox/Chrome space or call it away from IE, but with Windows 10 and now the Edge browser, I have to say, I am actually enjoying the sleek look/smooth response and overall "clean" experience. there are issues/bugs to iron out sure, but this has potential at least from my perspective.

Ohh, if you are on Win 10 and experience horrible stutter/delay/poor quality on any Video content i.e youtube/twitch etc... It comes down to audio drivers or your sound card/onboard, many complaints already, especially from ASUS XONAR range owners, no fix yet, but all are aware there is an issue, this of course has a much worse effect on the Edge browser, less on a chrome/firefox but nonetheless they are all affected.

Some suggestions are, a more generic OS driver, change sample rates of your audio/sound to the lowest (44mhz) etc..

Wish sometimes there could be room for lower ranked forum accounts to participate, especially if they really want to partake, and they have similar level of "understanding" or "maturity" and can actually contribute equally as much good posts as any other, but I guess one needs to put in the work, be active, then reap the rewards.

Anyway, just my 2c, best of luck with campaign, looks nice!

It takes only 4 months to become a Full Member. In addition if some Member can contribute effectively, PM me and I may make some arrangement.
The Full Member and above condition partly also acts as a screening process.

Cool, I will drop you a note, with regards to involvement I'm all for it.

Yeah, procrastination is a bad habit, instead of talking about how one could get involved and want to equally partake, you need to put in the work, and by the time the "crying" is over, you could have knocked out your posts and been on the level you are required to, just like the other guys who put in the time, period. Anyway, enough off topic from me, carry on.
