1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's up with the high fees!? on: July 15, 2015, 06:06:29 PM
With so many spam transactions occurring, the standard transaction fee is not sufficient to ensure quick confirmations.

This is a good answer to the question.
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I go about purchasing a large amount of bitcoins on: July 15, 2015, 04:59:31 PM
Let's say I'm looking to invest around $500k in bitcoins

What is the procedure to acquire the corresponding amount of bitcoins

uhh, 500k USD is around 1.7k BTC these days, which not look so high, as it looks in fiat:)

possible ways

1* go to localbitcoins.com, initiate contact with biggest sellers in your region (Europe, US) and start negotiate terms / ask them for offer.
2* initiate contact with some huge Chinese mining company/visit China personally and buy it directly from miners
3* create multiple bank accounts, transfer fiat to multiple exchanges and start buying

problem with point 3 is, that gov. may block your funds at it will be visible. So imho best and feasible way is just start slowly collecting locally..anyway, it will be risky and time consuming for sure, 500k USD is really lot of money, in my country you can had luxury car and amazing big house with garden everywhere you want:))

500K USD on localbitcoins, scary... scary Shocked

7  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: July 12, 2015, 02:15:23 PM
Because you have control over it and not someone else... simple and easy.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2 years ago Cyprus, now Greece? new bubble on the way? on: July 12, 2015, 02:08:34 PM
The 1200 bubble was for the most part produced by WillytheBot (MtGox) and his followers. Cyprus crisis had about the same impact on Bitcoin price as Greece has right now. Problem is mainly, when the banks are closed, people are not able to buy Bitcoins.

We will have to wait and see, but i agree to this.
