1  Other / Meta / Re: [Request] Ban "Posted From bitcointalk.org Android App" on: May 24, 2014, 04:18:39 PM
What about people who post from bitcointa.lk? I've been able to note extremely small "Posted through bitcointa.lk" notes or something like that which are not even visible in the screen unless you select them.

Yeah IIRC the font color is the same as the background color so you cannot see them unless you select them. He's doing it to leech pagerank-juice.

You think that is TF and not that he sold the account?  I don't think it's TF.

Actually it is him. There is a way to tell but I'm keeping my mouth shut about it.
3  Other / Meta / Re: Removing legacy scammer tags on: May 10, 2014, 05:17:01 PM
If they are scammers why not ban? why even bother to let them roam around the boards and be able to post?

Well the main reason is in many cases people have been given scammer tags and later had them removed after refunding people.

Other reason is banning them is useless as they will just make another account. Most scammers do that anyway. But for people who continue using outed accounts at least their posts are confined to one account which people can put on ignore if they don't want to read.

And scammers can still add to the discussion. Many are knowledgeable in niche areas that most people wouldn't know about, such as (as random examples) weakneses in anti-fraud systems or hacking. So their input in discussions may be quite valuable.

So basically you're saying that scammer tags will be completely removed from the forum?

No. The old type like mine <<< they haven't given these kind out in a long time.

We'll have to use the trust system to mark scammers from now on.
5  Other / Meta / Re: Removing legacy scammer tags on: May 10, 2014, 04:46:03 PM

I'm assuming there is no way for users to retain their scammer tag if they want to keep it? Sad
And just why exactly would you want to keep it? Sentimental reasons?
Maybe just being unique like the Donator and VIP ranks, except that you get it for stealing rather than donating.

This!

No.

A part of me feels like a piece of Bitcoin history has just been lost. I'm going to miss my tag Sad

Interesting move. That as unexpected.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out nevertheless. I think we're going to see some of those accounts coming back from the grave.
8  Economy / Lending / Re: [LENDING] Giving Loans For Scammers, Negative Trust! on: May 10, 2014, 09:42:25 AM
I might need a loan or something sometime in the near future. I'll get back to you. Hopefully Vod hasn't been removed from DefaultTrust by then.
9  Other / Meta / Re: I was given negative trust from staff of BT for stirring up arguments. on: May 10, 2014, 09:05:06 AM
Maybe we should rename the Trust system to Opinion system, its more fitting tbh.

Also pro tip: Notice how PG's ignore tab has no color. Clearly people want to hear what he has to say or he'd be on their ignore lists, especially with that many posts!
11  Other / Meta / Re: I was given negative trust from staff of BT for stirring up arguments. on: May 10, 2014, 08:11:16 AM
I don't see why the staff are up PG's ass.

First they ban him and now this... He (mainly) posts in his own threads and all of his trolling is deserved, plus he has some very good points. He's one of the only posters that makes me stop scrolling and pay attention to what he's saying whenever I see his posts. He is a genuine asset to BitcoinTalk.

Meanwhile TradeFortress is completely free to post whatever the fuck he wants, but PG, oh no we gotta ban his ass and then mark him as a scammer!

Why mods, why?

I think doge-dice has a non-negligible cannibalizing effect on just-dice.

DD takes a load off JD that doesn't need to be at JD.

You are correct on the first assertion, but not the second. Even if people are just betting small amounts, they can become inclined to bet more (because they feel like they're on a lucky streak, because they've learned more about the site and want to try with bigger amounts, etc), and there's a certain inertia towards switching from dd to jd.

I very much doubt that DD is positive for JD investors.

Why the hell are you still posting here?
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: $16,264.50 ......I'm a fucking idiot on: May 08, 2014, 02:15:35 PM
Any stock you buy is gambling as well because no one on this earth knows if the price will be higher in the future.

You are perfectly correct with that statement. One difference is that the company may be appreciating in value due to it making a profit, thus increasing the stock price, but for the most part stock trading is also gambling.

Why is it stupid when it has proven itself to be the best investment opportunity of my lifetime?

Explain to me the mechanic in Bitcoin that gives it a positive expected value? pro tip: there isn't.

When you buy Bitcoin you are essentially gambling on the price, its gambling not investing. There is nothing "magic" in Bitcoin that causes it to increase in price.
15  Other / Off-topic / Re: $16,264.50 ......I'm a fucking idiot on: May 08, 2014, 02:06:03 PM
How much of a fucking idiot am I?

First of all, investing in Bitcoin expecting to get a return is extremely dumb. Do you also invest in your PayPal balance? USE Bitcoin, investing is stupid.

I need 1BTC to be $1355.375 in order to break even.

Lucky for you the chances of that happening are pretty good.

Yep, I'm currently working on fixing the SSL but I will add that to the website soon.

Oh look, Mr Wu "accidentally" blew his cover.

You're pathetic dude. It's past a joke at this point.

You came back to the forum and you act as if nothing ever happened. You completely ignore the devastation you caused to the lives of thousands of people. You provided not as much as an update or even an acknowledgement of whats happening with this alleged "hack", yet continue to protest your innocence when challenged.

It seems to me you've spent more time trying to recover your funds from Ukyo than you have the supposed hacked funds.

Actually it's pointless even talking to you. Just go away, please just fuck off back to wherever you went. You posting here is not doing anyone any good, especially yourself.

18  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Airchat + Bitcoin on: May 04, 2014, 09:14:05 AM
Could it be used to send Bitcoins? Well if one of the participants was connected to the Bitcoin network then yes it could.

Another way which would not require connection to the Bitcoin network would be by sending a private key - if both sender/receiver have full trust in each other.
19  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Airchat + Bitcoin on: May 04, 2014, 09:11:40 AM
AirChat is complete bullshit. Whoever wrote it is literally clueless. The idea is pretty cool however, but GPG via Morse Code would probably be better than this.
