@letsPlayaGame, How about a 2017 game?

Announce a date and give the board a month or so to gather it's forces before you school us again. Smiley

Time permitting I would be interested in doing that later this year!

Meanwhile here are a few polls for Bitcoin loving chess players:

If you play #chess AND own #Bitcoin, which scaling path do you prefer (SegWit MASF, SegWit UASF or Bitcoin Unlimited)?

Will the price of #Bitcoin (in either USD or EUR) pass the #Chess rating of @MagnusCarlsen by the end of 2017?

So now that xmr is a serious coin would you guys recommend holding it in my portfolio for later in life or did it just have its minute of fame and its going to die like ltc did.

Just wondering.

As someone who has been long on XMR for quite some time, I would say, yes, it's absolutely a good investment for "later". However. Anything can change, this is a new realm. Point was, I am still buying. Tongue

Edit - have been using the compiled linux gui a bit, found a bug once, but it's shaping up to be a good release in the end, everything worked for me except  a few minor bugs. Feeling pretty confident about things overall. Cheesy

Cheers! Smiley

Edit 2 - This is NOT investment advice, merely opinion! Cheesy

Thanks for the advice man. But its hard to take your word for it because your already long on it and in profit I assume.

I'll wait to get more advice and see where I can go from there.

I will make two points:

1. This question is probably better off in the Monero speculation thread.

2.  You should not buy any altcoin solely as an investment. Do you understand how Monero works and what value using it can provide? If you cannot answer those basic questions, then don't buy Monero.

I want to give away some BTC, XMR, support chess and encourage people to move away from PayPal.

Help me identify popular chess channels on  YouTube, Twitch, etc willing to accept donations in Monero and Bitcoin. Any channel that adds a donation address will receive a tip.  I will be much more generous if they accept Monero (but will also support Bitcoin) because of my interest in privacy. The most generous tips will be received by popular chess channels that talk about Monero in a video.

https://twitter.com/ChessBTC/status/797598651698843648

To be clear I support Chess and cryptocurrency but am not and have never been a supporter of ChessCoin. If you read my post history you will understand why.

OK, but I think what is first for those who understand how things are done in the world is pay an agent or evangelist to contact and tutor existing chess channels on what you want to do, and how to do it.  Someone needs to walk them through it, and I gather you might be too busy to do that.  So, offer someone a bounty for this position, and since I recommended it, I will take it up if you're interested.  I like the game of chess and have been wanting to get back into it.

I will make time to explain Monero or Bitcoin to any chess player that expresses an interest. I personally am not in favor of paying bounties to others for something I am doing for free. However please share any ideas you have to promote crypto adoption within the chess world here or here so that we don't dont get off topic in this thread.

OK, we'll see what gets done.

There is nobody on Bitcointalk that knows more about chess than I do. Not everyone listened to my prior warning, so I will share the link once more. Stop buying this coin. No serious chess player believes there is any workable model to play chess for money (or chesscoin prizes of any significant value) anonymously online.

Avoid Chesscoin. Tons of red flags:

1. Greedy ICO model with trading happening on Yobit before ICO has ended
2. Social media signature campaign, and strange relationship with BellaCoin while ICO is still running
3. ICO funding page and BCT announcement are very unprofessional. No evidence they have the competence to create a site similar to chesscube.com as they claim: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1510517.100
4. Anonymous or pseudonymous online chess tournaments with significant prizes will not work due to the strength of chess engines today
5. Even if they could build the chess playing platform they describe, Chesscoin would add no value. Bitcoin would work just as well. BTC network effects are far more important that any chess "branding" of a cryptocurrency
6. You will not find one well known chess player, tournament sponsor or chess website to endorse Chesscoin.
7. This project is appears solely designed to make money for its "developers" and will do more harm than good for the reputation of cryptocurrency within the chess community

This is the same guy that bashed this project when it is just started but so far chesscoin has come a long way their is a guy in the Bigup community that keeps bashing the project and he ask 4 bitcoin just to stop bashing Bigup coin we are now seeing it maybe this guy will ask the dev for 10 bitcoin just to stop bashing this project..

I ask the community to give this guy a negative trust ..

I have never heard of Bigup coin and have not asked anyone for Bitcoin. If sharing my opinions about a potential scam results in a negative trust rating then I have no problem leaving Bitcointalk.

Stalemates are not the result when computers play against each other. The stronger engine usually wins.

Draws (without stalemate) are the most common result in high level chess. This is even more true for computers than humans, simply because computers make fewer mistakes.

In any case, bitcoin can be used to fuel any platform. You don't need an alt.

I agree.

You are making yourself look worse with your baseless accusations. I never asked for anything from the developers. I want no involvement in this project.
