1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt.CC | Scrypt Cloud Mining on: October 09, 2015, 12:22:51 PM
Hi,

I invested in scrypt.cc a long time ago, I now want to withdraw my 0.4 BTC since I read the scam warnings, I put in a withdrawal request over 2 days ago now which said it should take 20 minutes, I have also sent a support request, I have had no withdrawal or contact.

Do you think I may have lost my BTC this time or are small withdrawals still happening?

User mon.bux added me to skype and said he would trade 190$ for 0.82308092 BTC

He asked for my paper wallet on blockchain, I am fairly new but didnt realise it had my password and private key on.

He logged into my wallet and created a watch only address. He then sent to this address and asked me to send him skrill after I had just deposited just over 5000 USD to skrill for the larger deposit and I proved this to him via image.

He asked me to check my wallet and I seen the 190$ was there but it was watch only, I read up and this means its not mine to withdraw. so I think he sent it to his own address to try and scam me.

The address he sent it to was: 1V8q2HtYPpq5ZEhPkj6JHv6SASQ2Y1tDW

https://blockchain.info/address/1V8q2HtYPpq5ZEhPkj6JHv6SASQ2Y1tDW

his skype name is mon.bux His Bitcointalk username is kamilora https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=551042 (Image of Message http://imgur.com/AxD2FVl)

our chat history on skype. Martin is obviously me.

I use that site once yesterday because some guy bitasian-exchanger or w/e tell me about this, I only suggest to you because I wanted escrow and it was automatic. You didnt want escrow.

I believe localbitcoins is best you cant get scammed there as easily.

I use new password for every different site.

Why didn't you cover the password reset link on that screenshot? Now he will be able to change your password with that link, Man. I suggest you to take down that pic.

No, I changed password so link is expired. No money in there now anyway.

How do you know he's kamilora in the forum? Did he PM'd you here giving you that Skype account? You should include that too if he did.
Also a screenshot of the watch-only address would help (although it can be easily edited).

I have added the image http://imgur.com/AxD2FVl

The watch only address was removed from my blockchain wallet by him, he now has full access, I was wondering why he would not send to my blocktrail wallet. I had no bitcoin in the blockchain wallet anyway, I just created it for this transaction.

It is a lesson, but I thought sending small by small to each other would be quick and more safe, especially as he agreed to go first.

Escrow, Would that mean we would have to trust someone else who could run with both of our monies?

Technically, yes, but there are escrowers here who have handled millions of dollars of funds in escrows and not run with the money. SebastianJu is a trusted escrow; Blazedout is another. Here is a list of forum escrowers; I would say to only stick with the top 5, and SebastianJu.

Thank you for advice, I do not use paypal anyway, I hate the company. I once owed them 2$ due to someone reversing on me and they send debt collectors after me. Will not use again.

That's quite extreme, but yes, PayPal isn't a very great company, especially when trading bitcoins.

Great, Thank you for the escrow list. I will use one of them.

This could take some days I imagine if I were to have to send bank transfer to someones account. would this not look suspicious as to money laundering? especially from their point of view.
10  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking to buy Bitcoin Bulk - 35 Bitcoin on: September 16, 2015, 10:57:36 PM
I would say do a bank deposit or meet in person if someone is close enough to you. Always use escrow I could do this for you let me know if you want to proceed..

Bank Deposit or like SWIFT transfer would be best for me. straight from my bank account.

Escrow, Would that mean we would have to trust someone else who could run with both of our monies?

This is a considerably large amount; I would recommend for you to completely stay away from PayPal altogether. You will not get a single person to deal with you if you attempt to use PayPal.

Use something like Skrill/Neteller/bank transfer, or meet up with someone in person. If you meet up with them, make sure to be cautious and wary of everything.

Good luck!

11  Economy / Currency exchange / Looking to buy Bitcoin Bulk - 35 Bitcoin on: September 16, 2015, 10:46:08 PM
On this site called http://preev.com/ I have seen 35 is roughly worth about $8000.

I see some people offer a percentage towards costs. I can buy 35 BTC for $8600 as this is a large deal.

On localbitcoins 35 BTC costs around $8900 at some peoples prices. I can save $300 by buying from here I think.

Can people please suggest the best way to go forward. I am worried that I may lose my money, how can I stop this?

contact me here or at my email rusticforester1987@gmail.com

Thank You
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it true that Bitcoin is dying? Should I invest? Where can and how do I buy? on: September 16, 2015, 10:28:20 PM
I have seen questions on the forum and it worries me to invest, I have about 8000 USD to invest and would like to know if it is a wise move or I should just keep my money.

Where can and how do I buy Bitcoins?

Thank you
8000 $ Is a big amount you can buy yourself mining hardware for this amount and mine bitcoin

my friend looked at this.

I could buy 3 x AntMiner S5+ Miners. That would cost me $7000

I would make roughly $1400 per month. - minus electricity I would make $900 per month. now to get my $7000 back, I would need 8 - 9 months. In which time difficulty would have rose so more like 12 - 15 months.

Let alone all the hassle and space. I would get my money back in BTC mining eventually, Or I could just buy 35 BTC now and hope it rises.

please correct me if my math is wrong.

bitcoin "died" so many times in the last years, you can barely count the times Cheesy

Bitcoin at its current value is a good enough to go in late, in my opinion.

Thanks, My friend was into bitcoin since 2009 when it started, he made a lot of money mining it. I feel a bit jealous Cheesy

Once I buy some bitcoins would it be a clever move to invest in this? I want to invest my bitcoins to make money in the future.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it true that Bitcoin is dying? Should I invest? Where can and how do I buy? on: September 16, 2015, 07:13:06 PM
Thank you for all your replies.

I think localbitcoins look good and I plan to keep my Bitcoin until the price increases. Not invest in mining, I have read a lot in the last few hours and it appears cloud mining is more risky than just holding bitcoin.

I think also I will use a multisig armory wallet on my machine.

16  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blocktrail.com | Wallet | Explorer | API on: September 16, 2015, 04:15:14 PM
I just sign up to blocktrail wallet as a recommendation from a friend, I do not own any bitcoin yet so hopefully soon Smiley

Because the address starts with a 3, does that mean its a multi signature? I cannot import my private key to another wallet?

Thank You, It looks great.
