BitDragon,

I am currently considering trying to raise bitcoins to a value of 100000 USD through the IPO.

What I am offering in this case is a micro investment:

Quote:

I was wondering if someone would be interested in investing 8.5 BTC in an IPO/Startup?

I am about to set up an IPO on GLBSE and I would be happy to offer bitcoins to a value of 85 USD in return within 6 months, under condition that the venture is profitable enough to break even after all expenses are paid including this one.

Explanation:

I will aim to return bitcoins to a value of 85 USD to the investor. 8.5 BTC today have a value of about 42.5 USD. Thus, this would be a 100% ROI if the venture is successful. It is a micro investment obviously but I am looking to collaborate with investors on a long term basis so this could be a good first contract to start with.

Regards

SRON

I will try to ignore negative remarks from negative people as much as possible. It's just not worth it.

You've used 'IPO' several times and it's getting to the point I'm pretty sure you do not know what that means. IPO, or initial public offering, means you have SOMETHING to offer and is in reference to legitimizing a company to the world public market. What you are attempting to scam is "start up funds" also known as "angel investing", but generally as a measure of trust you need to prove that you've already committed as much financially as you can (2nd mortgage on house, car sold etc). Asking for just straight up cash is a scam, trolling, and a waste of cyberspace.

I believe there are levels of safety and trust that are inherent in any economic system/society. Trust is hard to determine behind a white screen that is barely an inch think (computer screen that is), however, bear in mind that most of us at one point or another have gone to a bank teller. You know, the person barely making $25,000 a year who has complete access to your bank credit cards, account and savings numbers, mortgage and car loan. The matter of trust is relative. They are paid to smile at you, not paid to be trusted. This seems to also be the case in the Bitcoin world. There must be some level of trust for it to work, but foolishness will end in exploitation. I believe the poster is offering up an intelligent guideline to maintain that balance.

Be smart about it. Keep honest, but trust your instincts.

Tis all for now,
