1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: October 06, 2018, 08:57:34 AM
Maybe moving some % of BTC into ETH is a good diversification strategy, while it's cheap?

Although this post was created long ago, i'm going to chime in and say that i'm keeping my ETH.

The recent market prices have not been favorable for ETH but lately it's been gaining some traction again, especially with all the updates and developments. If anything, i'd say that you now is a good time to move BTC into ETH.

I agree. The ETH price will rise after the stop of selling ETH by the ICO coins devs.
2  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-02] Bitcoin and Ether Surge 6% as Crypto Market Adds $15 Billion in 2Hr on: July 03, 2018, 03:34:35 AM
"Already, as a result of the short-term bounce of bitcoin, tokens including Aelf (ELF), ICON (ICX), Zilliqa (ZIL), WanChain (WAN), and 0x (ZRX) increased by the range of 6 percent to 21 percent, with ZRX recording a 21.5 percent gain against bitcoin and a 27 percent gain against the US dollar."

Will this just be the short term bounce?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: May 31, 2018, 04:23:53 PM
I have been mining WTC / WTCT  for the last week. It’s a very unique coin to mine. You essentially solo mine. I am averaging one block a day. The cards I am throwing at it are 6x 1080 ti.

Quick math that comes to $5 per day per 1080 ti.

The cards run very cool and quiet. I don’t have numbers but power usage has to be very very low.

To my knowledge this is a Windows only mineable coin at this time. Requires a beefy CPU as well.

I only have celeron CPU for the mining rig, so is that a no go?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GPU's For Mining? on: March 22, 2018, 05:52:46 PM

If you look from the green it's 1080ti
And from the reds then 580 ..

The 1080Ti is most efficient for large rigs. However, it is expensive.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 15, 2018, 08:24:03 AM
Is there a proper pool for XVG?   unimining, zpool - not seem to work properly, amount of mined coins is very low

We need big good XVG pools.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: November 15, 2017, 05:00:24 PM
Whoever managed to short BTC when it was trading at about eight thousand must have made a real killing out of it. People are only going long and expect to see always gain, while they forget that they can short the market as well and make money while the value is dropping. Instead of investing your money to ETH, just short it, you'll make just as much money as re-investing your money somewhere else. That's if you're a trader. If you're investing you should already have a lot of ETH stakced and shouldn't wait for forks to happen so that you buy ETH. If you're in it for the long-term you better buy some ETH and stick to it, it doesn't make sense to jump from one coin to another if you are a long-term investor.

I mine some ETH and I will keep them for the long  term.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Riser sata cable burned! on: October 11, 2017, 02:12:37 PM
I'm using only one sata cable with 4 connection at the moment.

Are you out of your mind? Thank the gods you are not burned alive yet. Sata cable is for maximum 2 cards and that is too much, preferred is one per card.

For the AMD 7970 or R9 390, it can supply up to three. But for the modern cards, it can only supply 1 to 2 cards.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [AMD cards] What will you mine after Ethereum ? on: September 10, 2017, 08:07:00 AM
Metropolis Byzantium hits testnet on September 18th
Difficulty Bomb on September 22nd will reduce current income by approximately 20%
Metropolis Byzantium go live on October 9th (not a final date, subject to change)
Mining rewards will increase by approximately 23% after Metropolis Byzantium goes live
It looks likely that Chinese Miners and Investors are going to fork Ethereum with the Metropolis Byzantium Update (Ethereum Ice? Icereum?)
Removing the Difficulty Bomb
Leaving Issuance at 5
Never going to POS
Setting max supply to 1billion with a halving at 500m issued (27 years from now?)
Pre-mining 100m coins

Mine that, Icereum  Grin Grin

I heard that was not proposed by the Chinese miner, but the developer.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to dump ETH? on: May 22, 2017, 06:05:35 AM
ETH is mooning now for those who bought a month ago its surely enjoying what they are seeing right now as the value keep on rising
this project really gaining even btc value is really high now, better to make a good entry if you almost left by the ride.

I think if you keep it for long term, it is even better.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to dump ETH? on: April 01, 2017, 12:38:54 PM
I think ETH will be even bigger, price just started to grow, so you should keep it another month or two  Wink

in your dreams my friend, in your dreams.
the price has been in a bubble and bubbles always burst. the burst in a big hyped up market such as etherum which has lots of manipulator whales will be slow and with a lot of dead cat bounces but it will go down.
if you start thinking it is recovering and going up that is when you lose money.

p.s. another 7.5% drop today!

I think the price will drop some what. but it will not go below 0.01.
11  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-03-04] Investment Blogger Explains Why He Won’t Buy Into A Bitcoin ETF Any on: March 06, 2017, 08:23:37 AM
Why a need to let people know you won't be a part of it. Undecided
Only for FUD reasons I would think. Embarrassed

If the fud keep people away from bitcoin, we can buy more at lower price.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: December 31, 2016, 09:26:06 AM
That is true for bitcoin, but not for Etheruem at present.

Eth is on the opposite trajectory. 600k would be my next idea for support.

the price is still over 800k.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: November 02, 2016, 06:10:33 PM
Broke below support with long term indicators, such as the 200-day SMA, trending down. I'd have thought whale-tard would have stepped in, but he seems to be conspicuously absent.

The Ethereum price broke below 0.014 bitcoin earlier. But the dollar price is still above $10.0 now.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: October 23, 2016, 04:48:59 PM
Actually this will help the network long term but it's getting a little tiresome, let's see how the next fork goes and if there are any upcoming news with Casper. The price doesn't seem to be dropping below $10 anytime soon even with no news and regular attacks.

If any coin is to succeed in the long term it needs to be tested for safety and resilience. Trial by fire so to speak. So I'm actually glad that people are performing attacks, it's the only way to find out if the technology stands to survive or not on a larger scale.

Agree with this,  human  attacks  to a certain  technology  could somehow a good  move though  in order to  test a  particular thing  if it  would survive  for  long . In the case of ETH  i could somehow say  that its quite a good coin for me   inspite  of all issues  regarding into it  into the past months and years.

It is better for the Etheruem or the bitcoin to be attacked when it is still young. The related loss will be limited.

that is right. If the Ethereum is attacked when its market cap is just $1 billion, the loss will be smaller.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: October 03, 2016, 05:32:51 PM
Do not stick to a coin, mine what is profitable. If you do not have time dual mining and intelligent mining can be alternatives. If you do not have time do not waste your money.

That is many small miners do. They usually switch to the most profitable coins to mine. They just mine.

If many farmers switch all the time, then the profitability for the mining will be simlar, there is no need to switch.

That is right. I stick with the Etheruem mining at the moment. It is almost one of the most profitable to mine.
16  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-09-12] LocalBitcoins Provides Instructions To Bypass Russian ISP Blockade on: September 12, 2016, 05:32:22 PM
For the time being, it remains uncertain how the Bitcoin situation in Russia will evolve. Conflicting messages every other week are making it difficult to plan ahead. This “ban” against LocalBitcoins is not overly serious, though, as it can be bypassed with relative ease. An interesting Bitcoin ecosystem in Russia, that much is certain.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now Everyone is buying on: August 26, 2016, 05:08:45 PM
I hope that people are buying right now, because the value of Bitcoin is going down considerably and I'm hoping something happens to revert this bear run and get Bitcoin back up to the mid $600s. I'm not liking this downturn at all, and I hope something comes out of this to stop this from happening. It's not like it is massively imperative, but some investors are probably pretty mad right now.
I don't think this is the time to panic as $600 support is still strong and probably the only reason it goes below that is to give opportunity for some to buy at lower levels. I don't even think we are entering the bear market phase as we are still seeing some upswings here and there, however unsustained. Whatever happens, I am bracing myself for the worst while still hoping for the best.
Yeah thats right we are still at strong level that i think this is still not the best or panic to buy bitcoins.. i think they are waiting for low price of bitcoin i think below 600 value is the best to buy bitcoins again.

It is better to wait for the Ethereum mania to end before buying more bitcoins. The bitcoin price will drift.

That is right. I think the price of bitcoin will not rise in the next few weeks at least until the Ethereum Clasic dies.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GPU's For Mining? on: August 09, 2016, 08:07:06 AM

That is right. It seems that the RX 480 is only good at Ethereum mining. But it is less efficient than 1070.

If you just want to mine the Ethereum, the 480X is the best. But if you want to mine other coins, 1070 is the best.

That is right. But the 1070 is too expensive. We may have have ROI. Maybe we can wait for the 490X.

It is better not to wait for the 490 or the 490X. When they arrive, the difficulty will be so high, not profitable to mine.

I think so. For the time being, it is better to buy the 480 or 470 or even 1070 to mine the Ethereum now.
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now Everyone is buying on: July 26, 2016, 07:06:21 PM
I think at the moment, the price of the bitcoin will not rise much in the short time. Many people are buying the Ethereum.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you recieved random BTC, would you return it? on: July 11, 2016, 06:32:19 PM
I will return it. It is not my money any way. The original sender might be worried about the loss of money.
