You can just post in the regular discussion area. I don't think you have to pick one or the other; there are topics in that link if you scroll down. Otherwise legal would probably be a closer choice for what you need.

I feel like a f*****g idiot. How the hell did I miss that? Thank you for your help.

... But in Legal or press?
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Journalism questions on: January 06, 2013, 05:51:25 AM
Legal for the legal related question(s), and possibly the general BitCoin talk forum for the others.

General? Is that Marketplace?
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Journalism questions on: January 06, 2013, 05:19:18 AM
Where would I post questions about the legal or professional aspects of Bitcoin journalism? I'm writing multiple stories for college credit (1 elective credit if it passes their scrutiny, worth about $140 here), and I want to make sure I post in the right place.

I assumed Press, but it looks like its just stories on Bitcoin, so I assumes legal, but I'm only sure one is a legal question (story on Lolita City user).

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hey, to the idiots who have been talking after Tommo, what the hell did you add to this conversation? He at least gave advice on where to go, you just berated him for asking. It could have ended after SC, but NOOOOO. You just HAAAAD to repeat it. Good job, guys!

Thanks! Cheesy

My apologies, I skipped over your thing. You did good. Go you, girlfriend!

They really don't care. There is nothing in their ToS that suggests or even mentions bitcoins, and the only thing on currencies states that they may convert payment from one currency to another. They don't have a setup for bitcoin payment like with USD, if that's what you mean.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Membergroups; or: Why do some users get colored coins under their names? on: January 06, 2013, 01:23:01 AM
Does Satoshi post here anymore?

He quit bitcoin development a while back, and his last post on these forums was December 10th, 2010. I'd post my proof, but my computer won't let me paste info, and I'm not going to manually enter it.

Bottom line is he's gone officially. Unofficially, he could be here secretly, as btchip has suggested.

I learned everything I know about Bitcoin from that "Good Wife" episode, thank you very much.

How? What the xD

Heh? No. It's a scam. No payouts. At best, it's college kids trying to get work done. At worst, it's a honeypot f bitcoin addresses.

I smelled a scam, just based on the title. Looks like I was right.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is http://www.btc4amazon.com legit? on: January 04, 2013, 08:27:39 AM
Is there a risk Amazon is going to sue you over the name? Or you just don't care?

Nifty idea. I'll try it out ASAP.

Luno was right, actually. You do have to go get the stuff. But I think the other two were correct a well. The supply/demand curves are evident. Just ask Siri.

Beyond that, platinum has the potential to build HHO generators, or the mystical "Car that runs on water" (depending on who you ask. I think HHO is possible, but there are too many scams). Same for Bitcoin. Depending on who you ask, it's either anarchists tying to buy guns on Tor or a Ponzi scheme or a future currency like USD or JPY or its some Savior or none of the above.

Frankly, I have yet to see an orphanage built in Russia thanks to Bitcoin. But, man, is Silk Road fun to browse.

I know I didn't help. 2 posts to go until I'm out of he newbie forums. Woo!
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust No One on: January 04, 2013, 07:56:39 AM
Why should I trust you then? Is it not a safe assumption that the guardianship you put up is merely a ruse to get my BTC?

Nah, just kidding. 2 posts to go till I can post on the big boy forums! What a great system!

The electric costs on BlockChain outweigh the profits.

BlockChain.info/stats

They estimate over $1K in losses because of electricity costs. I get what your saying, but its just not good planning. You need to think ahead further than "I buy this and make a lot of money". There is a chance the block takes longer to break than you think. Theres a small chance the thing breaks mid-block. There's also the heat, which has lead to police raids because the cops think the heat in the house is from lamps used in grow houses to keep pot growing. If that happens, you get billed just for the raid.

I know that's not very useful. But, hey, what's the worst that could happen? Besides bankruptcy. Or a SWAT raid.

The rules seem effective, except for that one forum on prostitutes.

Hello, my name is NicS, I am a journalism and communications student currently attending CWI in Nampa, ID. I hope to transfer to BSU by Summer, after a year and a half of undergrad work. I find Bitcoin interesting, and would like to get to know both the software/hardware & community better. That's why I am here.
