If you have a need to be allowed into the forum beyond before you have completed the required 5 posts and 4 hours logged in, please post your request here. You must provide evidence that shows that you either understand more about Bitcoin than the average newbie,

Well, it'd be nice, and I think I understand bitcoin more than the average newbie (even though I'm probably asking a stupid question on the thread I started here in the newbie forum).  But I can wait. Smiley  Four hours is not that long, and this is my fifth post (which is why I'm making it).

I've dug through the bitcoin client source code and the code for bitcoinj.  I'm particularly intrigued in how the nodes in the network peer with each other, locating seed nodes through DNS lookups (formerly through IRC - I didn't understand that IRC wasn't used anymore until I did some heavy reading).  I don't quite get yet how the blocks in the chain are exchanged, but I'm hoping to figure that out soon.  I'd like to try my hand at implementing a bitcoin-like mockup prototype some time soon, not compatible with bitcoin, but basically working my way through the concepts in the whitepaper.

I get a kick out of bitcoinj's generate node function, with a comment stating that of course you could never use this for real mining.  It's still educational. Smiley

The forum was founded in 2009 by Satoshi and Sirius. It replaced a SourceForge forum.

I'm really interested in further browsing and posting in the forums. I'm trying to buy a few BTC, but it seems I can't post in that section because I have to wait 4 hours and have 5 posts. I know a lot more than the average newbie, I've gotten the 5 postcount by giving my input in the newbie sections about controversial topics, and I've posted in a few people asking about the trading business giving them proper trading practices to follow, to ensure they don't get scammed. I know all the basics of BTC's from researching on and off for the past few months, and I wish I had found this forum earlier because I've been on a few other forums trying to buy BTC's with no luck. Thank you so much for the consideration, I hope to be granted permission to post in the market section Smiley

I would like to be able to post in the thread Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Gambling > Bitcoin Video Poker! 0.005 BTC credits are here! [UPDATED 1/6/2013].

The reason for this is that I have had technical issues with bitcoinvideopoker and it seems that the developer or administrator is fairly active on that site.  Can you please allow me to post in that thread so I can try and resolve the issue.  The problem is that the program is randomly only dealing me 4 card or not dealing me a 5th card after the draw.  This significantly decreases my chances of winning and has cost me probably close to .25 bitcoin.  Thanks for your help so I can try and have this dispute resolved.

I also want to add to my above request that.  I have experience in using bitinstant to transfer funds to mt gox so I am not a complete newb.

Hello. I am Tessellated. I would like to be whitelisted.

I wish to post in the "Bitcoin Discussion" forum questions about the specifics of hidden services. I want to present a few different potential setups we are considering and get the communities opinion on the security aspects of it.

I don't want to make a bunch of posts in the newbie forum because small talk can result in identity compromise.

Thank you.

I mine LTC and BTC with a couple computers using 7970's from XFX (horrible company, i know).  They get the job done anyways.  I am hoping to add value to LTC and BTC by offering a sportsbook.  If there is anything against me doing this PLEASE let me know because I do not want to be banned from the forum.  Thanks.

I would really appreciate being whitelisted, but I understand if I must wait.
This forum has already helped me a great deal in understanding bitcoin a lot better!
The most I've really gotten into is pool mining with a GUIMiner (unfortunately, my CPU isn't the best, but it chugs along well enough).

Thanks for your consideration!

HI everyone,

forget about posting here. It seems that it will not help you getting whitelisted. At least, it did not work for me, although I gave a specific topic I wanted to be whitelisted for.

Anyway, maybe the newby-restrictions do make sense somehow.

Best, Niklas

Hello,
It would be wonderful to be allowed to post in the regular sections, because I am looking to make some exchanges for bitcoins, and want to see if anyone is interested. Thanks so much!
