there are several pools already, such as osc.dsync.net which was the first functional pool, and is arguably the best. i think most people mine at coinex, but the dsync pools are known for finding more blocks per gh/s than any other. that could be just seen as my opinion, but coinex has had 150 ghs, but we'd be hitting a block every 5 minutes with less than 10
Thanks, I'll look into that. I had an error on the dsync pool, although the account appears to be created OK: "Unable to create account: Unable to request email confirmation: Unable to send mail."

overtime, the value, steady production, and features will make this coin a winner. ask bcx he threw 3 th/s at it and couldn't even budge the block targets. like bitcoin, the stringent difficulty rules can sometimes lead to longer block times and a stranding effect, but in an electronic environment, OpenSourcecoin is proof that fast block times don't always mean less security, and give Sunny King credit for his thoughtfulness in designing Peercoin, which OSC is ultimately derived from.
Yeah, I noticed how the difficulty shifts with network hash rate rather than being stuck high when the power drops off. I've had transactions with some coins get stuck for hours or days when this happens. For applications where getting that first confirmation quickly is important it's a good feature. BTW, I tried to get a p2pool set up. It connects to Ocoin and cgminer connects to it and finds blocks but they aren't propagated or recorded by the network, plus the payout is wrong. I'll do more hacking when I get time.

So what you, and others, are saying, MichaelBliss, is you don't want the state of Israel to exist at all? Not saying at all there isn't some truth to what you say, but the myths of ethnic-cleansing and apartheid have been debunked already. BTW, you know, you're telling us about BDS using technology partly developed in Israel? You can read more about Israel's achievements here: http://verygoodnewsisrael.blogspot.co.uk/Enjoy your day.

i can get you a falafel mix from a supermarket here however i must warn you its not as good as the real thing(i'll even translate the preparing orders) for the real thing you should get to Jerusalem and ask your cab driver to take to SHALOM falael - then you are in for a treat
I can get falafel mix in UK supermarkets but it's not great. Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try that if I make it to Jerusalem.

i dont know maybe theyll come out with a 2.5 then... after all they do have alot of the old cases and board around hell id take 2 2.5s if i didnt have to wait XD
Bearing in mind the original Jalapeno was to be 4.5 GH/s running on under 5W USB power without additional cooling, at the current specs to run on less than 5W means it wouldn't run at more than 1 GH/s. Even the best estimate for the chips at 3W per GH/s doesn't give much more than 1.5 GH/s, but there are additional components required for it to even work. Even so, on that basis they could easily compete with the 300 MH/s USB devices from ASICMiner. If they can do a 1 GH/s USB powered miner for under $150 I've no doubt it'd sell pretty well.

I'm a web developer (mainly HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL but I dabble in other things) with 10 years experience thinking of offering PSD to HTML/CSS (using SASS/Compass) services for BTC. Anyone interested?

u believe it would be as they have only just received the revised boards, as BFL said they are shipping boards out that arnt quite to the spec they wanted 'hot MOSFET' i think when they do get it sorted they will go back to the small cases and stuff
I haven't seen that they'll return to the smaller cases. I suspect there is still too much heat from the 2 ASIC chips themselves at 25-35W (some have the 2GH/s upgrade) to forgo the heatsink.

Do you know if this is one of the 'hot MOSFET' units? More recent units run cooler so hoping I can avoid dealing with heat/fan noise by the time I get mine.

Waiting for $150 here before I sell. I bought way lower but at this rate I'm not going to recoup on mining hardware (paid in fiat) for a long time. It'll happen. Soon...
