I must ask what type of trader thinks it's a good idea to start shorting Bitcoin after it has fallen more than 50% from its top...
My final buy order at $450 has been filled, I now hold BTC and wait for recovery over the coming months. Because, after all, the bull market is about to start! Elliot wave counters would agree - despite the herd disbelief in the coming bull trend and cries of "whale manipulation" as bad news is reiterated for the 5th time, Wave 1 is starting soon.

I see many new threads of people shorting Bitcoin at current prices. The time to short was on the way down from $800 to $450, this is supposed to be when those shorts are covered! (At least that's what I'm doing). Judging by the sentiment here and the oscillators on the 1day, 3day and 1week scales, the capitulation bottom occurs within 8 days, then it's all green as bears begin the old denial dance, attributing the rise to "whale manipulation" Careful out there, don't get fleeced by Mr. Market  |

The question to ask is if bears are true long term bears or long term bulls. Whether the aim is to sell BTC for good and return to fiat forever as a true long term bear, or whether the aim is to buy back in at a lower price point because of a future price rise.
If the latter is true, the USD demand curve for BTC remains constant. The prevalence of such (long term bull, short/med term bears) actually helps to stabilize the price by catching price dips.

Given BTC rose from $13 to current prices in the span of less than a year this is completely possible. Sprinkle in some irrational exuberance and we have 30k noproblem.

more of a reminder that if anyone bought at a higher price that they will be selling it at - you should think about it a bit more.
nothing guarantees you a loss like a real, realized loss.
nothing has changed in the last week. the china news isn't bad no matter how you spin it. since nothing has changed keep in mind that most people who panic and sell at a loss later buy it back (after already taking a loss). if you are new then hopefully you thought about what you were doing when you bought in. think some more about realizing a loss.
it's happened many times. the results are always the same. most people who utilize the buy high sell low strategy aren't usually happy with their results.

He probably had the chance to buy them at <$13, instead he held onto his worthless USD and is now a perma-bear denial seeking every chance he gets to rationalize his past mistakes! "BTC crashing 50%! USD holders were right! Hah!" |

If you scroll back topic you will see first warning from me was previous higher high overlap from China on 01 Dec. Sold there about 70%. Second confirmation I got when price hit negative BB zone on China 05 Dec. This is outstanding. Sold all other coins on rebounce. Then hourly sma200 was failed on retest from bottom. This insured me completely. And I wrote about bubble end.

Wholeheartedly agree. As Lucif says, news follows waves. The predominant shapes found in speculative markets reveal themselves regardless of news, and news stories are but the tiny gusts of wind that knocks down the first domino. The chart patterns repeat themselves nearly perfectly regardless of the news that is the catalyst. Coinbase lawsuit didn't cause the $140-$70 crash. It was due to happen. Gox ddos did not cause the $266-50 crash. It was building up for weeks. Only when the dominoes have been setting up in the correct position can they fall down perfectly from that gust of wind. Ferdinand’s assassination was not the cause of WWI. Due to waves I have bought back in at these beautiful $700 prices and await the final euphoric spike due to push us above $3000 in late January. |
