1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: November 24, 2017, 09:46:10 AM
I have a question for the Bittrex community. Hypothetically, if a person went from a legacy account to new one and is now reduced to a 0 withdrawal limit, are the funds stored there lost for good, if that person chose not verify with his id?

This just happened to me (Legacy to New) and it looks like my funds are trapped.  I even tried to do a basic verification and was told they could not find my information.  Really sucks.

I don't see why no warning was given nor do I see why the .025 could not have been retained.  At least that way I could have gotten my funds out.

It would have been nice to have been informed about these changes, after all they email me every time I log in, and been given a chance to close the account and withdraw everything before hand.

I can understand being pressured by authorities, but at the same time be professional towards your customers.
2  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex Withdrawal Problem due to Verification on: November 24, 2017, 09:39:09 AM
I just gave them everything I could and they still wont let me withdraw ---> first I tried to upgrade to basic (which I already had but they changed it yesterday day to "new") and it said that it failed (gave my SSI number and everything)!  So, I went ahead and uploaded my state identification card and selfie....and still nothing ----> I am done ---> there is something suspicious going on here, guaranteed!

I have been a long time user of bittrex and never any problems until today.  It looks like they finally got rid of their "legacy" accounts and moved them all to NEW with a 0 withdrawal limit.

Okay so the  old days are over and so I submitted for basic verification and they claimed they couldn't find me in their databases.  Crap.  Based on what you and many others have posted my experience with enhanced is not going to be any better.  Crap.

If you are reading this I WOULD NOT DEPOSIT ANYTHING INTO BITTREX UNLESS YOU'RE ALREADY VERIFIED because you wont be able to get it out.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex verification on: October 16, 2017, 09:31:12 AM
have legacy accounts even got to do this now?

I have a bad feeling the answer is yes.  I just got a screen when I logged on requesting information.  Some warning would have been nice that this was going to be required.  Glad I don't have a lot there that they can hold hostage if the basic verification does not go well.  Hopefully I'm wrong or maybe they will have not gotten to your account yet.  Good Luck.
4  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 ICO ANNOUNCE 15 AUG 2017! JOIN THE TRANSFORMATION! 🎰🎰🎰 on: September 12, 2017, 06:04:10 PM
BitDice does not provide services to the US clients. The ICO terms explicitly prohibit US based investors from participation, that’s why the recent SEC statement does not affect us in practical terms. Our lawyers advise us on all legal matters and helped us a lot in resolving the issue with the UK Gambling Commission that we had previously. Apparently, Bitcoinorama fails to possess sufficient knowledge neither in the legal matters, nor in BitDice project development. The same thing concerns the DaoCasino, which in fact does have a similar to Fate Channel technology. Comparing a start-up projects with a running business of BitDice that’s been generating hefty profits since 2014 is odd to say the least. BitDice is way far ahead at the moment.

Do US players or current US based investors need to withdraw their coins from the site before the ICO closes?  Should they have done so already?

Asking for a friend.

You mean from the casino itself?   I guess yes since I dont know how you could withdraw from ICO site before ICO ends.
If USA citizens can use casino, is for sure written in TOS.  But when I tried to check https://www.bitdice.me/tos.pdf  i got blank page.

Of course it's the casino, the quote makes clear that the ICO is closed to US investors.  Would really appreciate an answer.

6  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Anyone used Electron Cash Successfully? on: August 02, 2017, 05:50:59 PM
Sorry but I dont get it.
How can I get the Electron Cash wallet?
I installed elektrum but I dont know how I can get access to my Electron Cash Wallet?

Electron Cash is a different client for Bitcoin Cash based on Electrum code.  It's at:  http://www.electroncash.org/

But be careful, lots of potential issues.  Electrum has posted these instructions and advice: https://electrum.org/bcc2.txt

Good Luck!

I also have this problem and none of the usual suggestions worked.  I opened a ticket but have not gotten a response yet, it's been almost 24 hours, hopefully they wont misread it.

I wish there was some indication of how stressed their support system is, it's obviously bad given they had to shut down the trollbox, but still.

That's at least 5 of us now by my count. Hopefully it becoming more widespread will make them address it sooner. As noted above I started a thread just for this issue that I'll post any updates in.

Mine just allowed me to cancel.  Never got a response on the ticket but glad it works now.  Hope the same for everyone else.

Is anyone else having trouble canceling loan offers in the Lending tab? I've submitted a ticket for it, but would be helpful to know whether others are experiencing the same problem.

I know things must be busy for them, let's hope they can safely get on top of the situation soon.

Also, sometimes I've noticed that the loan was taken before it disappears from the Open Loans and if I try to cancel it, it is too late and after a short while it appears to active loans -section with some interest accured.

---

I find the best way to solve the issue to refrain from using auto-renew and manually setting loans to the markets when there is bitcoins available.

Thanks guys; unfortunately these suggestions are not working. I try restarting the browser, etc., and that did not fix it. I'm not using Auto-renew, and it doesn't matter whether the loan offers are being made by a lending bot or manually, NOTHING is canceling. The only way to "process" the loan offers is to have them taken up by a borrower.

I've got a 5% loan offer on some LTC (set by a lending bot, my intent being to cancel out for a trade once the old loan ended) that I can't cancel. But I've been testing things with a steady flow of small BTC loans as other loans are ending and nothing can be canceled right now once set.

Poloniex responded quickly to the ticket which was a surprise - unfortunately they completely misread it and thought I was asking to cancel an existing loan. :-(

Any suggestions or how do I fully delete the application so I can start over?

You would want to delete all files associated with Byteball. Not quite sure about the location on macs, should be something like Applications/Byteball

Thanks for trying to help Odrak.  I guess that is my question, where does the client store all its files?

I did exactly what you suggest - deleted Byteball from applications.  However, after deleting and reinstalling it is still is trying to synch, not giving me the menu to choose between full and light client.

If it helps anyone, the session log shows "onGoingProcess Syncing true" poping up every few minutes, but the synch does not advance.

Try deleting the following folder:-

[your mac username]/Library/Application Support/byteball

The Library folder may be hidden so you may need to unhide hidden folders to see it.

Once deleted, open the application and you should be given the option to install a light wallet.

Thank you!  That worked perfectly!  I look forward to the 10 May full moon drop!  Thanks again and go Byteball!

I imagine this has been asked before but neither Google nor my browsing of the thread could find the answer.

Byteball sounds awesome, so I downloaded the 1.7.1 Mac OSX client and selected setting up a full node.

However, it's been an hour and there has been no process in the synch, it's still at 0%.  I tried the usual, exiting and restarting, but no luck.

So I figured I'd delete the program and set it up again as a light client, but no luck.  When I delete the application file and reinstalled it resumes trying to synch and remains stuck at 0%.  (I don't get the menu to choose between full and light client.)

Any suggestions or how do I fully delete the application so I can start over?

Again, sorry if this has been asked, but I did look for an answer.

Thanks and good luck with this project.

Too late for giveaway, but I wanted you to know it was pretty much the same for me.  Bitcoin crowded out video games.

Even better, bitcoin leads to stuff that makes life better, like understanding cryptography and providing a lot of motivation to learn even more programming, that video games never do.

Good Luck!
13  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: The Famous Giveaways will continue again :) on: June 10, 2016, 07:48:59 PM
I'm glad that you will be able to continue to help people out.

One idea, rather than first X responders get some minor amount, maybe say I will randomly pick 5 of first 50 responders or something like that to improve the number of people who are exposed to your generosity.

Regardless, good luck to you.
14  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Should the Giveaways come to an end? on: May 29, 2016, 04:26:33 PM
Giveaways are fun.  They are your coins, you can give them to whomever you want.  It sucks that some people are taking advantage of your good nature.

Those steps look like good steps, but the simple fact is with all the account farming that has gone on here there really isn't much defense against opportunistic people.

Good luck and while I have not gotten any of your giveaways I think it is a really nice thing to do!
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What keeps you coming back??? on: May 25, 2016, 07:15:17 PM
It sounds silly, but I love the chat rooms.  It is fun to talk to the players from all around the world.

Playing for trivial amounts, a fraction of a US cent, is still fun, and when I lose, there is no need to be upset.  However, if I lost 3 BTC, well, ouch...

I saw this and it was a really nicely done article!  Good to see bitcoin in a positive light in the MSM.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright to move coins from an early (associated with the genesis?!) block? on: May 03, 2016, 11:01:36 PM
.....

My personal opinion is that Dave Kleiman was most likely to be Satoshi Nakamoto (he is now dead...).
This is an interesting read in case you missed it:
http://gizmodo.com/the-strange-life-and-death-of-dave-kleiman-a-computer-1747092460

Thanks for this.

I am thinking maybe Dave Kleiman was Woz to Craig Wright's (self perceived) Jobs.  Craig is trying to cash in but if he could move the coins he would have done so already.

Not sure how he bamboozled Gavin, but maybe I'd say he was Satoshi too for a free trip to London.
18  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Amagi Metals a scam? on: May 03, 2016, 10:45:53 PM
I ordered from Amagi over a year ago and had no problems.

However, I have to say the free shipping offer of JM is tempting.

Good luck whatever you choose.

20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your gambling strategy on: April 30, 2016, 12:15:26 AM
I like dice because of the amount of control you have over the payout.  You want to win x betting y, you can set your win chance at whatever you want.

While the expected value is always the same, the variance does matter, so if you make more smaller bets, you should have lower variance on your outcome than if you make fewer bigger ones.  So in the immortal words of Dirty Harry, "Do you feel lucky?"
