1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: May 03, 2013, 05:03:53 AM
Hi Everyone,

So I have finished running my reports and have paid out as many users as I have been able to without eating into the allocated funds for current miners on fc.altpool

There are a few users still remaining to be finalised - please see this google doc file:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aji0Rmxt25S7dEhVUGQySVFYRjNoOW5HNEtWTEZpV0E&usp=sharing

If you feel you are still owed funds and are not on this list, please contact me via PM and let me know your username and payment address (if it was set) and I will verify the details and if requested send a copy of my report through to you.

There were quite a lot of users that have been overpaid - any that were less than 100 have not been included on this list. I do not expect people to return excess funds, but it would be nice if they do.

Sorry for the delays; i wanted to make sure this data was as accurate as possible.

Regards,
Troy.

Viperus, as i have said a few times now in this thread, I was not paid for 8 hours of mining at 550 k/h many days ago on the original site. This occurred shortly after I put in a good word for your site as you asked me to do via PM. In fact immediately after receiving my payment for my original work, and posting in this thread that you DID in fact pay me, I turned one of my miners back to your site for a 8 hours session.

This is the session I am speaking of about not being paid. Well, actually i received a one-time credit to my altpool account  of .004 FTC at least 12 hours (and probably longer I forget) after the session ended, but this is clearly not even close to the amount owed for certain. I have not made an account on your new site. If you intend to make good on your above promise of paying your miners for their past work that was not paid due to the site running out of money, then that is great. As I said, I do not have an account at your new site and since the old site is shut down I will provide my FTC wallet address where you can feel free to send me my payment if you wish.

I honestly do not even know how much is owed to me (since the site is down and all) but if you have a record of it still, or send me a payment that even remotely resembles what I should have received, then that would be very nice and I will be happy to report back on this thread to update the situation. Send any payments owed here:

6h3ETimhDYXpEC97wEJiWRYseJ2BJuEjnP

As said before, I will do what I can to ensure all outstanding payments from that site are honored. I have added your address into my list and will process as many payouts as I can this evening.

Hello everyone - I am sorry I have not been around for the last few days; I have had some family problems of late and that is a bigger priority to me than anything else.

I have arrived back into Melbourne late yesterday evening and have had to organize myself today. I am reading through all the messages now and will be replying to all the PM's as soon as I can.

Im sorry the mine.altpool site has gone down. I was not aware of this, however it is probably a good thing as I have logged in a couple of hours ago and noticed the hot wallet is out of funds. I do not know how this has happened and am currently in the process of running the script to calculate all of the rewards per user for each block. Once this has ran, I will cross reference it with the database and actual payouts to find out what has gone wrong.

To all those that are still waiting for payouts from this site, I will move all the test funds I sent to myself (account: 6zKfbsa8eHKp5VsPDKAnKMQyuzp5Knkktr - http://imgur.com/VkHucrO) and all the fees/donation funds from fc.altpool to begin payout. From my admin panel, it appears that there is about 20K that needs to be paid out, however I do not have this much banked up, (about 1.9K in tests and about 1K from fc.altpool) - once I have collated all the data, I will be in a better position to know what is the true amount owed to miners.

FC/Day estimate seems to be calculated wrong.
FC has 200 coins in a block, so should get 4x what it estimates.

I shall update this after replying to everyone

Thanks man, really...
So, Troy, will you answer us, please?
You're closing the pool, ok, it's your right, but please give us our FTC...
I believe i had around 700 FC there, any possibility to get my FC out?

I will payout as much as I can tonight and as the new site gets more donations/fees, I will continue to work off the balances owing

I just sent an email to his gmail address requesting my FTC balance to be sent to my FTC address, and telling him we are waiting for answers on this thread.
I sent an email as well requesting payout

Sorry, I was in a rural area with terrible internet access.

Still no answer... He signed his previous PMs to me "Troy" and doesn't seem to want to hide his identity... Strange for a possible scammer...
Ive said before, im not here to scam people hence I have no reason to try and hide myself. I even stated in a previous post you could find me pretty easily on the web (as you can now see from whois data Smiley)

I hope you guys are right, and I'm sorry if I'm being a little too impatient and he's having a personal problem of some sort. In PMs, he didn't strike me as a scammer, and yes the pool looked good, better that the current barely customized Pushpool which are dominating the FTC mining scene... too bad...

Dont feel too bad - I know how this must look (especially being a realativly new user on BTC) and I am sorry I have not been able to keep you guys informed and updated as I have in the past.

Judging by the domains he's been buying (probably with the money he earned selling our stolen crypto) I'm guessing he's chasing the "make internet millions" fantasy that sucks so many people in. I wonder which sucker program he wasted our money on.  Cheesy

No domain names I have, have been purchased with BTC/FC/LTC - ever - they have all come from my own pocket, and no, im not chasing the 'make internet millions', just hoping to get a few dollars from either adsense or resale.

Im a little busy today - Anzac Day in Australia and having some guests over to watch the footy (Aussie Rules - go the Bombers!) - though I will try and put some time into fixing the bugs and responding to your queries as soon as I can.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 24, 2013, 02:13:00 PM
great job!  much faster interface.  will the old site still be available.  I have some FC there that I need to payout but I can't get onto the site to cash it out.  I keep getting timed out.

Thanks Smiley - yes, I will keep it up until the majority of users have moved elsewhere (ie, this new one or someone else's pool Smiley) and then shut down stratum. At that point, I will wait for all the outstanding blocks to update and share information to be processed. Once that has happened, all accounts with payment addresses will have their FC sent out, and those that dont have their address set, I will make contact with via email (as per registration details). Once all payments are processed, I will recheck the database to make sure everything was as fair as possible; make additional payments where/if required and then crash and burn the database and server.

Great decision to switch the interface. Set my donation to 5% on the new site for now.

Thanks for the support Smiley and the donation is much appreciated, I have not decided what to do with donations yet, but they will probably go back into the pool to be shared out at some point Smiley

Alrighty; sorry for the delay in this last update.

Looking at the poll results, it appears that the general consensus is to create the site with MMCFE.

I am happy to say I have now done this on a temporary server which has been offered to me by the supplier of my new server whilst awaiting it to be setup. Hopefully the full server will be online in a day or two.

In the mean time, if you want to join up on the new site and start mining on this temp box please feel free to do so. Any members that join in the next 48 hours will have their account set to 0% pool fee for the next month.

I have also added in a few tweaks with the stratum server; the main one that affects users is that miner details are now being validated.

Website: http://fc.altpool.com
Stratum connection: stratum+tcp://fc.altpool.com:3333/
Getwork connection: http://fc.altpool.com:8336/

I have only just literally uploaded the site and am yet to add content back into the pages; I shall get to this in the next 24 hours.

As this is also a new site, many functions are as yet untested and there may be a few bugs from the original developer, but so far from my testing everything looks good.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 23, 2013, 11:17:47 AM
I'd suggest waiting for your new server, 6 more cores than before should help Wink

EDIT : and yeah, I do mine on your pool Smiley

Thanks for the support Smiley - Ive already upped the box last night to the next plan ($80/m as per one of my early posts) so it now has 4 cores and more ram but MySQL is still maxing out the CPU so yes, hopefully another 4 will help matters Smiley

hi viperaus,
first of all thank you for running the pool, stratum is working great (so far) and stale is very low
but please get rid of that crap! front end is terrible, it takes ages to load and has no accurate information Smiley

No worries Smiley - will wait and see what the general consensus is (although I feel inclined to go with MMCFE and then restyle it)
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 23, 2013, 10:58:46 AM
The site is back on; and the server load reads 'critical'  Grin

Guessing Viperaus has rushed to the supermarket to grab a few servers and a bucket of ice.

lol Smiley if only it was that simple .. ive been pulling my hair out all day trying to test the code updates im working on but due to it being so slow im not getting anywhere.

OK everyone - I would like some feedback from you guys.

What i am proposing is:

1. Scrap the current front end code and start using MMCFE as this is already pretty solid from what I hear.
or
2. Continue with the current site, and people will just have to bear with me while I work things out.

For #1 to happen: I will shut down stratum server and will not accept any more connections. I will give the system 12 to 16 hours (whatever it needs), to process all of the outstanding shares and update users account balance. Once all shares are accounted for, I will enable auto payout on everyones account and send out whatever FC is due to be paid. Once this is done, I will then scrap the current database/website and begin the transition over to MMCFE, at which time, I will then turn stratum back on. You will then need to re-sign up, and configure your account.

For #2 to happen: well, as every hour goes by, I am getting less and less confident that I have the time/energy to continue to debug all of the issues that are going on - however if the group consensus is to continue working with the current site, I will continue to work on it.

Let me know what you guys think; I will start a poll momentarily.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 23, 2013, 06:08:58 AM
I can't believe it. With at first 700 khs then 1400 khs. Almost 2 days but only 10 ftc.

To help explain this graph;

Blue: Shares History
Yellow: Shares

What does that mean?
Shares history is the table in the database where the share data is moved to once a block has been found and confirmed.

Shares is the table in the database containing the current share data that is yet to be processed.

As you can see in the graph, there is close to a 12 hour lag at the moment.

---

I am looking into how to make the share data update quicker (and without breaking anything in the process). I have also temporarily added some extra columns into the 'my stats' page to help break down how many shares are being counted in each round and the approx payout. Please be aware, these stats may be wrong as it is still a work in progress, but it should help me to narrow down where the issue is.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 23, 2013, 05:40:00 AM
HOw many MH/s did you run and what was your final payout.  I was running about 3.8MH/s for about 12 hours straight and it looks like I've fallen a bit short of the expected payout.  I"m going to hold off from reporting this as anything but a lag because of the 120 confirmations.  I hope there are more than 40FC generated for that time.

Got your pm and I will look into that shortly.

imma find you and make you regret it.

non-stratum pool sucks.

I dont want to - but if things are not working the way they should be, I may have no alternative. When/If i do, I will distribute all the remaining funds from the hot wallet out to all those that have mined on this site. As I have stated before, i dont care about the FC; only getting the code for the system right.

Ill give you a start, Im in melbourne australia and im pretty public on the web so it wont be that hard to track me down Cheesy

Is it possible to get the stratum poolserver source you're using? I tried the eloipool-litecoin mod but I can't get the PoW to hash out right.

Sure - still a work in progress, and a couple of little updates that i have not yet pushed back but the core functions are working. https://github.com/viperaus/stratum-mining

I just performed a manual withdraw on my ~1950 coins, but it only sent 1910 coins. Is the 2% fee calculated during withdrawals?

Correct - calculating the 2% on every block for every user was one of the main issues causing the backlog of scripts running. So I changed it to only take this fee out when processing a withdrawl request. This is also the same for donations.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 23, 2013, 04:15:51 AM
I've been mining for ~7 hours now, and seeing the blockrate the 120 confirms take no more than 4. Yet my balance is still 0.000000

Would be a shame if you actually also disabled the payout code.

It is a bit worrysome to read that the pool is actually really bugged and I'm not as confident that my earnings will be or are being calculated properly. I'm going to suspend mining at your pool if I don't see any balance popping up soon, and probably look for another pool.

I advise to not start one if you don't have its vital functions up and running yet.

I understand your concern and wont blame you if you decide to move to another pool. As I have stated before, this was just supposed to be a test of the back end (stratum); I had no idea how bad some of the code was on the front end side and I agree, I should not have gone public with it until it was all confirmed as working correctly. But how do I do this without testing? So I needed some miners to get the blocks ticking over. Now as it has grown so quickly, I am unable to keep on top of everything and currently I am considering taking down the entire pool as it is becoming more of a nightmare everyday. I am spending more and more time each day answering PM's then actually fixing the issues.

I have not disabled the balance update code, only the auto payout code. This will be re-enabled today.

Fucking. Bullshit.

Gave the guy 9 horus of 3MH/s hashing power, and got 0.00000 to show for it (expected was supposed to be >300FC)

So yes, I've pulled out and if I don't get paid for my work in the next days i'm throwing a scammer tag out there.

Ive just checked the database this was my findings;
Code:
blockNumber shares rewarded
20720 5057 Y
20722 286 Y
20728 17861 Y
20733 661 Y
20773 4487 Y
20774 2415 Y
20776 6148 Y
20788 3832 N
20801 5685 N
20806 205 N
20819 4168 N
20827 1412 N
20832 3446 N
20853 3277 N
20872 5187 N
20873 815 N
20886 3702 N
20899 500 N
20905 4724 N

The scripts are taking forever to run still - as I have said before; and this is still something I am trying to work through.

I do not appreciate the accusation of 'scammer' when I am doing as much as I can do, whilst trying to keep everyone as informed as I can as to what is going on. Maybe if I wasnt responding, different story. I would appreciate it if you made a retraction (and an appolgy wouldnt go astray either) Smiley

Nonetheless these delays are unacceptable too. Feathercoin is practically identical to litecoin, there should be no problems in his 'scripts' that he fixed in the LTC pool.

The mere fact that he pulled a similar stunt on his other pool leads me to believe that something fishy is going on.

The other site is also experiencing issues - as altpool has a greater number of users/block finds, I feel it is more important to fix this site first and then move all the updates across to mineltc. I will then have to go through any payouts that have been made there already and make sure that everything is up to scratch.

Its 9am in Australia, I think - he may not have woken up by now.

Your right, I'm normally working late into the night and dont normally get to start working on altpool till 1130-1200ish

I pulled my miners from altpool yesterday. Gave 1Mh/s of hashing power for 12+ hours and nothing to show for it but a ton of useless shares. Went solo and scored 2 blocks...not a bunch, but better than the goose egg I earned for my time and energy at altpool.

I'll be back when (if) you get it running smoothly.

Looking at the database, it appears all the blocks you mined in have been rewarded.

looks like stats has started updating.  it looks like its just under serious lag.  I'm anticipating a payout soon.

The payout is manual.

Thanks for pointing that out - i will re-enable the auto payout code today.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 22, 2013, 05:06:57 PM
Site is really slow, I can't see my own stats and my balance is still 0.0000000 after several hours of mining at >3Mh/s hashrate.

On top of that I'm constantly logged out when changing pages and I can only occasionally reach my account page.

Please tell me why this is and when we can expect to be able to view our own stats.

The site is still really slow due to a number of bugs in the code and also that the server it is running on is not built for this type of system. I have dissabled some of the offending code for the moment but have not isolated all of the issues yet.

When you look at the header, you will notice some of the information is missing, this is part of the code i have disabled. The important things I have left intact for the moment while trying to fix the other issues.

As for your constant logging out, I cannot explain that unless you have something that is clearing your cookies.

I will try and get everything fixed as soon as I can; I cannot give a timeframe as I do not know how long each day i can spend working on this site and how deep the flaws run.

the web server is slow.  probably due to unanticipated load.  FC became very popular over the weekend.  mining seems to be unaffected.  I get very little stale or rejects.

As to why your balance is 0.  The pool requires 120 confirmations.  Which is high right now but will go down over time.  SO it will take a while before the shares are confirmed and the coins paid out to you.  No need to worry.

Thanks for trying to help explain Smiley You are correct, the server was a simple test box so see if stratum was working. I did not expect the number of users that have jumped onboard nor the amount of traffic this site is getting. As per one of my last posts, I have a new server on the way to help with this issue - combine that with some better coding (once i nut that all out Smiley) then the pool will run a heck of a lot better than it currently does.

As you mention; mining appears to be unaffected, it is only the front end that has such a slow response.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 22, 2013, 11:59:37 AM
Server is now back online.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 22, 2013, 11:35:37 AM
Server is now offline - doing a backup and then will increase the ram/cpu. Once completed (approx 20 mins) everything should be back to normal and hopefully more responsive Smiley
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 22, 2013, 09:22:29 AM
Hey everyone. I have just placed an order with another data center to get a better deal on a faster machine. This should help improve the response time of the site. In the mean time (will take approx 48 hours to setup at the data center) I am going to take this site down and do a temporary update. This should only take about 15 to 20 minutes, in which time all network connections (ie: website and mining) will be off-line.

I will be performing this update in approx 2 hours so please be prepared to temporarily switch to another pool.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 22, 2013, 03:41:42 AM
Is the site updating coins automatically now?  I ask because on my personal account it's adding coins as it's supposed to.  However on my business account I've had it on for nine hours or so now and nothing has been added.  Why the difference between the two accounts? (And to everyone reading this, I'm not worried about getting my FC, just wondering why the difference in accounts)

Yes, the site is processing block updates and balance updates every 15 10 minutes now. This should be updating all accounts at the same time, so i would expect your business account to have updated. Please let me know the miner details (PM me) and I look into the problem for you.

Hope the website speeds up soon! Nice pool ^^

Thanks - me too Smiley
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 22, 2013, 03:13:31 AM
So, is the site still down or just running incredibly slow?

I'd like to access my funds now ( or at least check my balance ). Please and thank you.

Running really slow.

Round Shares: 40333 (14.4% stale) ?

Haven't fixed the stale calculation yet - sorry.

OK, so even after optimizing some of the code (still a lot more to go through though) I find (as do a lot of others) that the website is always very slow to load. I will be shopping around today to find a beefier server and once setup there, hopefully this issue will disappear.

This pool was originally just to test the stratum server was working, accepting shares and sending upstream for confirmations; well, that side of the test has been a huge success - and even with the front end lagging, it seems that the mining side remains unaffected which is another plus.

Now if I can get the front end running at a decent speed, I think I will have a reasonably stable pool; and then this will be able to be duplicated for any crypto based upon scrypt (ie: litecoin, feathercoin)

Thanks again for everyones support and please stay tuned to the front page of the site (and/or this forum) for news as to when the change over will occur.

Looking forward to the site going on auto.

Me too Cheesy
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 21, 2013, 02:29:47 AM
How long has it been since this pool hit a block?

As Im currently running the scripts manually, its hard to say. Looking at the timestamps, is looks like 1 every 10mins approx.

Things seem to be running smoothly, so i will be setting them to run automatically sometime today Smiley
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Pool - Stratum on: April 20, 2013, 03:34:40 PM
It seems I got overpaid. My ballance is -71.05xxxxx FC. I switched to other crypto for now. Can you, please, check it and if I really got overpaid- I'll send you those coins from my wallet.

Hey, Im just crawling into bed - I shall make sure to check your account tomorrow and will let you know my findings Smiley
