1  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the probability of Bitcoin reaching its ATH in September? on: Today at 05:38:21 PM
Its already arrived, maybe a little more to coast over the line but BTC is now back at the highs its visited many times since July.  So its not new but it is at the top of the range.
The only real thing to note here is does it complete and end its cycle of range and repeat the same old story as the last few months or can we get something new.

This is my interest, some new story or a repeat and so far I cant tell only that dollar has continued to lose more so a new high is maybe slightly more probable but Im not expecting too much for now.
I won't say you are expecting too much at least after bitcoins being stable above 110k for a while. This is definitely a positive news and Q4 will just bring more green candles and prosperity. Bitcoins have repeated the past multiple times so this can be expected again but there is nothing wrong in that. People usually start encashing bitcoins after they see prices skyrocketting but the same people will buy back as soon as they get to know that the prices won't crash anymore. They have FOMO and they start hopping back. This is going to explode the prices and we are going to see a really good coming month.

September is about to end and usually at the end of month, we do see spike in volume. Hopefully this time the spike will be upwards which will only skyrocket the prices and make us believer in the long term goals.

3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 14, 2025, 07:02:31 PM
I know how Arne needs Guehi badly to join in his squad, but very sad Guehi's transfer was not successful due to the drama from Palace. However, his chance to recruit Guehi is getting smaller as various clubs are coming for Guehi.

We have Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern and even Barcelona are showing their interest to him. Even Barcelona's coach was saying he needs Guehi to join in his squad.

If i were Guehi, i'd be going to the club that give me good wages combined with guaranteed starting XI. What do you guys think? Shall Guehi move to the Barcelona instead of Liverpool? Cheesy Cheesy
I get wanting him, and yes that kid will be moving to some bigger club soon enough, but seriously after spending that much money are they still unsure about the quality of their squad? Arne Slott can't blame anything on the squad this season, if they do end up not winning the league that is on him and nobody else.

Because the ownership spent ungodly amount of money this season to make sure that they have the best possible team and they gave Arne the greatest team they could possibly afford. So this team will either repeat and win the league again, or it will be a big disappointment. I am pretty sure that they will win it though, and if not then it's going to be something that will take a while for them to get better, but he won't be fired if they fail, because of last year.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is collective betting a good strategy on: September 14, 2025, 08:41:44 AM
Collective betting should just be for fun so there is no intention to chase the win. But that can change if some people in that group have good skills in analysis so all people will rely on them to pick the team.

I have been there for a while with some friends. But we know that we don't have much skill and just analyze as we can. We don't chase the win because we know our skills so we just have fun. No matter what the result is, that will be no problem for us because it is just a prediction and let it happen.
I think collective betting are more prone for chasing profits. Maybe unless if all of you guys are a chicken, lol. But if we are only in, for fun, then I think there is no problem if we will continue right after each win, up until we reach our desired profits. This is again likely because of the number of people involved. So that when the time you guys are now dividing your income, it won't look very tiny. Add in if like you said, some members in the team have some good skills in betting.

It is nice and exciting if we do that with our friends especially if we watch the match together. We will feel the bond between us and we want to repeat it at other times.
Indeed. This is another way to bond with the people that we know the most but apart from collective betting, there are also some that do PVP battles instead.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2025/26 on: September 13, 2025, 08:24:50 PM
Barcelona should be getting an easy three points against Valencia, doesn't mean they will, just saying they should be and because of that it's going to be something that will be very profitable for them, and nothing different will happen.

Because they already lost points, and they can't afford to lose more points and they need to end up with some more wins. If they can do that then they are going to end up with a lot better returns and wouldn't face issues at all. It's the most important part of the deal, and it's going to take time for it to change. Best case scenario Barcelona will play with their %100 and when they do that Valencia is not even a rival for them, it's a very easy game for them, so they have to play with their %100.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: September 12, 2025, 06:21:02 PM
We all know that PSG are far more stronger than most teams in Ligue 1, but the main challenge of this season for them is in the Champions League, as they are currently the defending champions, which create an extra pressure on them again. The knockout rounds as usual are always tough, and looking at their fixtures, it won’t be an easy task. In league 1, they can still make mistakes and still win, but in Europe, they will need to be at their very consistent in every match.

Losing Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué is a major issue for them, as both players have been successful keys to PSG’s attack. Their absence gives Barcelona an advantage in the upcoming game, which now  Luis Enrique is left with tough choices. He will need to find new solutions and use the depth of his squad wisely. How well he adapts could decide if PSG stay in the fight for another Champions League title or fall short earlier than we all expected.
It wouldn't be a huge disappointment if they end up winning their own league and cup, but not win UCL again. It is understandable for them to not have the win here, because UCL is a very tough competition and getting to win it twice is very tough, let alone twice in a row.

So it is normal and understandable if they end up failing to win the UCL, and it wouldn't be a failed season if they did not do that. What they need to achieve however is get the league, which should be easy, and also get the cup which will be hard because they will focus on the league and UCL so cup will mostly get bench players and young players instead of main ones all the way until quarter finals or more (at least it should), it's the perfect place to rest your players.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: An analysis of analysing. Is speculation on crypto markets worthwhile? on: September 12, 2025, 08:50:41 AM
My conclusion is that DCA is impossibly superior to speculation and trading. Sure, your chances of making big money are diminished but for that tradeoff you forego all the costs that come with speculation and trading. With DCA you set it up and you can go and live your life peacefully.
Speculation is for everyone and just not limited to traders. I agree that DCA will help both investors and long term based traders still you cannot ignore the role of speculation along with DCA.

I mean, in my opinion, there would be no point of DCA in a year long bearish market; you may skip DCA for few months because it would greatly help to achieve better average-buying-price. So, even you are into DCA, I am sure that you still need speculations for ensuring that you are not dealing with a falling knife.

When you’re not psychologically ready, you shouldn’t try and invest in cryptocurrency.
You can easily eliminate all the psychological factors when you plan for long term investment. DCA along with long term holding will help you to rid off all the blocking factors of a new investor.

The percentage of failure of your investment varies depending on the type of crypto asset you’re investing into.
I always assume that we are discussing about bitcoin and not about any altcoin or stocks or bond unless otherwise specifically mentioned.

If they can keep low amount of money for trading and mantain DCA. I'm sure they will be successful easy.
You mean getting to trading and investing simultaneously? I am sure that most people do that. Because, long term holding is really boring hence people look for short term trading just to multiply their wealth. Honestly I am not into both because I lose more in trading than what I DCA at the given time frame.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks and the prospect of holding Bitcoin as reserves. on: September 10, 2025, 11:59:01 AM
If it doesn't benefit banks, they are not going to do it and the risk associated with it will be very low. This is why I'm against the need to borrow money from banks. They get money at low interest rate from the central banks and give high interest to individuals and companies that want to borrow money from them, they are only the receiving end.

Bitcoin reserve is going to be like gold in coming years if they want to do the same but I don't know see any reason to that when I can buy a hardware wallet and hold my coins there.
They do have a "potential risk" which is not being able to give back what they praised. Meaning, if they get 1 billion in money to loan out, and then need to pay back 1.1 billion, but they are charging people 1.5 billion for that, it's great profit for them. However, if they are not making it back, either because bad investments, or defaulted loans they gave out and all that, then we are going to see them have bad returns and bank will end up bankrupting, we have seen that.

So if you are taking the risk, then you are taking the profit too. Look at people here just on this forum, @shashan gives loans, great guy, amazing system he built, god knows how much money is out there right now, and he is waiting that money to arrive, but he is taking that risk at the moment. If people don't pay him back, his situation is worse than a bank, because he can't do anything neither.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto owner losses ≈ $1 million after fake job interview on: September 08, 2025, 09:30:40 AM
I have several posts already about how job interview is the new ways to scam people.
Yeah, scammers are stealing the identify documents in the name of interview in my country lately. People who are deliberately looking for job or income stream (in the name of work from home), easily coem forward to submit even their passport and other highly sensitive information.

If they take time to verify the background of the company which offered the job, might easily help people to escape from these scam attempts.

we already know what it is and as you said most bitcointalk members already knows how important it is to keep your cryptocurrency assets off line as much as you can.
Yes, the importance of cold wallets has been emphasised across this forum for years. Unfortunately not all crypto users are not using this forum and also not all forum members are not making use of what they learned from this forum against scammers.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What distance of time is long term investment plans? on: September 07, 2025, 05:19:01 PM
There isn't really a set time because it depends from person to person. What is long to you may not be long to them and what is long to them may not be long to you. There isn't any proper way to calculate this, finances, life situations, and everything basically changes this.

So you have to realize that the best way to move forward would be making sure that it's going to be a tough one, and that's going to change a lot. If you do that, then you are going to get a lot of great returns. Make sure that you are dealing with something that has a lot of question marks, but if you do figure out a way, then you can pick your long term and if you do, then it doesn't matter what other people think of your timeframe, only you can dictate that.

12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏 2025 ACC ASIA CUP🏏 9 Sep - 28 Sep 🏏 on: September 03, 2025, 04:40:33 PM
Ayy I don't really care for Asia cup, but looking at this competition I might give 2 shits about it. Count me in.

Asia cup is competition where one finalist is India, and who else — pak/sl?

Very good prize money btw, tbf it looks bit too generous for asia cup comp.
Selecting the winner and runner-up in big events like IPL, Big Bash, etc. becomes very tough, but in events like Asia Cup or World Cup, it is very easy to predict which team will win. This time, it can be said with certainty that India will be the final team in the Asia Cup, and it may not be possible to predict who the other team will be, but it is also certain that India will be the champion.

I have deep interest to participate in the prediction campaign.
Yeah, India could be the one of the finalist, I agree with you both because current ranking of T20I is saying the same thing:

Source: https://www.espncricinfo.com/rankings/icc-team-ranking

Still, the fact 'past records got nothing to do with future performance' is very true especially for T20 format. If my memory serves me better, India was not preforming well in 2021 T20 world cup in the same venue (India lost against Pakistan and New Zealand and failed to qualify for semi final). Similarly, in 2022 edition of Asia cup was played in T20 format where Sri Lanka was the champion in the same venue.

I expect few surprises from Afghanistan and Bangladesh just because of T20 format.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka got all the talents to surprise the top ranked India.

13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2025/2026 on: September 03, 2025, 04:53:24 AM
Liverpool beating Arsenal doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things for the short term, because lets be honest Liverpool will lose a game too, it's possible for them to go unbeaten but I doubt it, they will lose, and Arsenal can cover that difference.

The real tricky situation is the fact that Liverpool spent like what 400 million or something on transfers? If they can get the most out of these players and the ones they have, they are going to be a team that is unstoppable. They are spending like crazy, and expecting a win is just the norm for them after all of this. If they do anything else, any lower then it is not easy.

Look at this link, and see how much they spent, and that is just the official number on those transfers, not adding the marketing and what not, these players get a lot more money than this for the transfer, and the teams get more too, it's just not shown up as the transfer fee itself, but they get more.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is power and it open doors for you if you are financially discipline on: September 02, 2025, 03:49:24 PM
If you are powerful enough, then making more money is easy, and bribing the politicians to get what they want out of it is also easier as well. It's not really that complicated, we are going to end up with a much better return. It's going to be tough, but not that impossible. If you are rich "enough", getting anything done is easier, even tax evasion is easier, and then you just make more with that money you have.

In fact, it's so funny, they let you literally steal tax, by just reinvesting, so you make more money, and you are rewarded if you put your money towards making even more. That is in name of capitalism and that means you are going to end up with bunch of problems, and that's going to be a trouble for normal people.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2025/26 Season on: September 01, 2025, 12:48:00 PM
We all know that Italian teams are the favorites in the Europa League. Roma are one of the favorites in this tournament as well. They're a truly strong team and one you wouldn't want to face. Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are also two Premier League teams among the favorites in this tournament. Could we see another Premier League final, or could we see an early elimination?
I would say Villa isn't an empty threat. They are a great team and Unai Emery is one of the greatest managers we have in the world right now. Just because he doesn't manage a huge team, doesn't mean that he is a bad manager. We have seen him do great stuff with his teams before and we should be making sure that they are doing the great thing again.

This is why I believe Aston Villa could win the whole thing and they have a serious chance of it. I get why people think that this isn't easy, but it can be done. So we are going to see what kind of team they are, and what kind of return we are going to get. I hope that it can be done in a better way, and we can see how this could change for us on the long run. Villa is my bet.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 24, 2025, 04:02:24 PM
The most important thing is the 3 points. If they can get the 3 points, I think there’s no problem.but it's just the beginning of the season, and many of these lower teams try to appear strong in their few matches when the season has just started, just like they always put in more effort toward the end of the season. Even in a few previous seasons, it’s not that PSG always finds Angers easy to score against. So, even in yesterday’s match, I wasn’t really expecting more goals, but all I knew was that PSG would win the game. It may have been very hard for Angers to have an opportunity to score against PSG.

What I’m trying to say is that PSG did not drop, but it’s based on our expectations that make us feel like they are not performing well. The fact is, it’s always a match where PSG will find it easy to win and score many goals. One more point is that most of PSG players are exhausted from all the matches they’ve played and the kind of effort they’ve put into those matches. If PSG had signed some great players, the team might have been strengthened even more.
That is how the league is won, and yet people do not understand it. How "great you look" doesn't matter, you may like how PSG played or may not like how they played, in the end they won.

And as long as they keep winning, then there is nothing to discuss at all. We should consider this as something that would not be all that bad at all, and it's definitely a good way to make this work. Of course this isn't really that complicated for all of us, so it's definitely not that bad for any of us.

We are going to get a great PSG team this season too, they were probably tired from playing that many games. They played all games if ligue 1, and played all games of the cup, and all games of the UCL and all games of CWC, so last year I do not think any team played more games than PSG did.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another example on why we should be quiet and not flaunt our crypto in public on: August 22, 2025, 04:30:10 AM
This is a lesson for any social media influencer not to flaunt the achievements you have, the riches you’ve accumulated, and the huge amount of earnings you have in your bank account, regardless if your reason is to inspire other people, still that would not be an excuse to scammers and criminals out there who are just waiting for their new victims.
I think that is not 'to inspire' anymore if we will flex how big our banks or how many fast cars, mansions, etc.. we have but that is bragging already. There is still a fine line between them. But, for only those who have the intention to inspire, I feel sorry for them if they will also get targeted by the criminals.

To protect yourself and your family from harm, it is best not to disclose your crypto assets or other assets to the public or show them off on social media. Flexing behavior, especially on public social media, can invite danger for individuals who like to flexing and their families because criminals and robbers will target such people as their victims. So as long as the action is not profitable and can cause negative effects that can endanger lives, then it is better to be anonymous or hide assets from others, and life will be more peaceful.
We that are humble will know this already but for others that wants to farm an aura, they can neglect this easily. They can even lie and say it was their belongings when in fact they only borrow it from someone else. That is how desperate they are. No wonder why they can get a karma. It is either those who threaten them are only annoyed with their actions or think they are genuine and try to steal their belongings from them.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 20, 2025, 05:30:32 PM
Isak wanting to leave is normal, Newcastle is not a big team, even with a rich owner, they are basically forced to follow financial fair play, which means they can't get anyone they want. But, selling a player is a good way to get some money, and they can use that, so they want to get as much as possible.

Liverpool should definitely stop trying, because they already have a great team, why get Isak? Their striker is now Ekitike and he is playing wonderful so far, both on friendlies and on that league game against United too. I think it's clear that Liverpool would be making a mistake disrupting what they have working, and they already spent so much money, they should not try to spend even more money on this at all.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you still believe Bitcoin can reach $1M? Why or why not? on: August 17, 2025, 02:48:52 PM
In this life, I've learned that anything is possible. So even if right now, it is quite far in the horizon, never say never. It is possible but we don't know when. Just have conservative estimates because you are using your funds that you have no idea when you will get your target profits.
Yeah, we need to realize that we can't always know what's going to happen beforehand, and we can never be sure of anything before it happens. What we can just have is hope, and that hope is that price will go up in the future, nothing is worse than that.

We need to focus on how to make more money with what we have, and for that reason we are going to get a lot better result. If we can do that, then we are going to see this change for the long term. Because if we are right with our hope and price goes up, then it doesn't matter "when" it goes up if we are holding it, as long as you are not selling, then when it goes up is unimportant information and shouldn't be something that bothers you for the long term.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin vs Gold - Which will win the % of increase 10 year Race? on: August 15, 2025, 04:19:36 PM
Buying bitcoin is easier and with so many exchanges nowadays, the minimum isn't also that big. Whilst for gold, there are some conditions that need to be met as well before purchasing one. And it's also required that you should be there at the shop or wherever you're buying that. As for Bitcoin, you don't have to be physically present where you're buying that, as long as you've got internet connection, some funds that's in line with the minimum purchase or you're dealing with someone P2P, it's very easy to have and transfer it without any hassle.
That's very true! And, of course buying Bitcoin you don't need to weigh anything or test it for purity like you do with gold - and you don't need to worry about being robbed of the gold or cash when arriving or leaving the shop where you bought or sold the gold. And, you don't need to store it in a safe place like a bank's vault.
While I would prefer bitcoin and I am 100% sure that in a 10 year race bitcoin not only will increase more in % but also it has a slight chance that it can have a valuation higher than gold marketcap as well. But leaving all that aside, gold isn't something you have to buy physically anymore, all banks in my nation have gold accounts, and I know few other nations that have that too, and I am sure that we are going to end up with that all around.

That means, you put money on your bank account ,and buy gold. That way, you do not physically hold it, you have gold in your bank account , and when the price of gold goes up, the value there goes up too. So while bitcoin is better than gold, you do not have to worry about purity or theft or anything like that for gold, if you only want it for investment.
