1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Recieved 50GH BFL Single Today! on: June 21, 2013, 08:42:58 PM

Remember when you point your finger at someone their are three looking back at you.

I don't know what kind of weird crooked fingers you have, but when I point at someone, I point at someone, not 4 different things.

http://www.quickmeme.com/meme/3uxgwh/

He is referring to when you hold your arm out infront of you and have your index finger extended and your middle, ring, and pinky on your palm. The index finger is pointing in front of you, while the others are pointing at you.

This is why Marines point with a knife hand. Ooh Rah

Is he yelling at a sailor? That looks like the new Navy uniform, and those are not navy barracks. Must be FMF trainee?

... they wouldn’t have such a backlash ...

... you really don't know the half of it Sad

Things have recently taken a turn for the surreal and unbelievable. I'm not used to picking my own jaw up off the floor. Say what you will about Josh, but the fact that he is now directly responsible for the legal welfare of... someone... is a level of "messed up" I never had a desire to approach.

And this is saying nothing to their ignoring the first salvo of legal demands on our part.

Looks like I'm going to have a road-trip to the Kansas federal courts in the near future  Embarrassed

*yawns* Your legal threats are as empty as Josh's "we will deliver in two weeks" statements.
3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs just sent me an update e-mail! on: May 02, 2013, 12:33:10 AM
Exactly what new specifications are people being asked to agree to?  The product page for the new 50 GH unit gives fuck all in the way of specs.  Is it even legal to sell an electrical product in the US without specifying power consumption?

So power draw is not actually specified beyond being "higher".  Which brings me back to my original question of whether you can legally sell an electrical product in the US without giving power specs or other information about which national and international electrical and other safety standards it meets?

This could actually present a problem for international customers.

Yes you can sell without CE/FCC for unintentional radiators, and even self certifiy if a complaint is filed, and an investigation is launched, and the product is found to not be compliant, they could be forced to halt production, then fall in line with part 15 requirements.

Source: I googled your question.

Great thread and discussion, guys.

Can we try to get back on topic?

Computerparts, Where does this broken wafer info come from?

Josh, could you please address the topic of the thread instead of responding to insults?

7  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: April 26, 2013, 11:32:06 PM
so here is the supposed "Luke Unit" hashing on Josh's pool (lol ppl really connect to his pool? ppl should not trust Josh Zerlan with hashing power IMO)

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1CdcYVP4T4hjHwt353pEnGHrigeDLvuvZL

Does anyone believe this is the luke Unit?  that it's really been hashing that fast for that long?

I would love to hear opinions.

is it just eating power like a boss?

so hot you can fry an egg on it?

special pcb or not even mounted on a board, i.e. no real way to take it from lab --> consumer product?

Bryan you're a dumbass. Eligius is not Josh's pool. Eliguis WAS a pool that belonged to Luke, but he handed it over to wizkid.
Josh's pool is eclipse. Every time you open your mouth...

8  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Why Butterfly Labs (BFL) might be a Ponzi scheme on: April 25, 2013, 06:28:25 PM
Their latest picture of the Jalapeño boxes on a trolley is sad in the sense that they have wasted time and money putting nice graphics on them. Like taking an expensive empty machined housing with fans to an electronics fair!

I'm willing to bet that the graphics on the boxes for the now defunct MiniRigs is totally awesome.

I'm curious as to what the content consist of on the Jalapeno's boxes.

I'm also curious as to what the UL, FCC, and CE labels look like attached to machines not sent out as dev units. I'm sure those look awesome as hell.

I just checked again the FCC website, and still nothing resembling BFL, or the like, has grace their labs.

Amazing how I can get an SR22 for three years because a woman falsely claims I pulled out in front her, yet a felon is able to continue breaking the law without suffering any repercussions.

Completely absent. Now you can call the FCC ID police on them.

To be fair, I'll consider the dev units may not need them, albeit possibly a grey area in the eyes of the FCC, but nevertheless.

But as soon as one regular customer shows similar images of their unit sans labels, I'll make contact with the FCC and show the best proof possible that I did such.

And on that day I will call you a boner biter.

10  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL's Jalapeno exists - I have one in my hand and just uploaded a video on: April 21, 2013, 03:29:58 AM
This maybe a noob question.  But if this is the first time you have ever opened the box, then why when you plugged it in for the first time (and it said drivers not found) why did you immediately know that you were missing generic USB drivers...(that you found "embarrassing")?

My first instinct when plugging in a new device and seeing drivers not found would be to start rummaging around in the box for a driver disk?

Also (not directed to the OP) what is the thinking behind shipping out free demo models before shipping out (or even giving a concrete shipping date) for orders that were paid in full 10 months ago?

He paused recording the video, then restarted it. He even said "I'm going to pause it" He just didnt edit it very well.

Nobody gives a shit, make sure you let Josh fuck you extra hard tonight. I bet all the other 50k people will get theres soon.

This guy is really mad.

11  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Coud bitcoin exchanges use a circuit breaker? on: April 13, 2013, 01:25:12 AM
A circuit breaker would do nothing for the exchange at this point. The way to solve this moving the trading engine to it is own server/program. It is right now connected to the front-end. Also the great thing about bitcoins is how open and free market it is, if bitcoin free falls to $0.01 it should be able. Just like it should be able to go to $1000, if the market dictates it.

When I read Nova's post I didn't think that he was suggesting that a circuit breaker would fix the exchange's problem, just like a real life circuit breaker doesn't fix the electrical fault in your house wiring when some dumbshit threw a toaster in the bathtub. It prevents the house from burning down.

Now think about it if that toaster was thrown in the bathtub every day, wouldn't you at some point get a new toaster. That is where the issue is. Circuit breaking wouldn't fix anything. It would be tripped every day, and just kill trading.

I acknowledge that you have pointed out that if the breaker was tripped over and over, this will have a ripple affect on the flow of trading. That is valid.

You seem to have missed my point entirely. Let's pretend that whatever was causing the engine lag is not happening anymore. That is not the topic of this thread.

Why would you not want to have something like this in place?  So far it seems like your main argument is that you think that the market should be entirely free, and no one appears to be proposing that a regulation be put in place that forces all exchanges to implement this. It seems like a common sense good practice to follow and this thread might be a good place to hammer out that framework. Not discuss how you think that the coders of the engine are idiots.

I like the idea of cutting the fat during the break.
