1  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: January 06, 2015, 04:57:27 PM
So with another exchange being hacked. Can we please innovate to remove the unnecessary counterparty risk of using havelock.

Issue a counterparty asset or bitshares asset... centralization will eventually bite AM and ASICMiner.

A counterparty/bitshares asset could issue dividends directly to customer. An asset such as a counterparty AMHASH could be traded in a decentralised manor on the Counterparty DEX or on a whole range crypto exchanges like poloniex etc.

I know the developers of Counterparty and Bitshares would be more than happy to aid you in this process. And why not get some press whilst doing it, 'hey coindesk, we've decided to re-evaluate our business and go completely decentralised.'

LEAD THE MARKET

It's likely Friedcat is reliant on successful IPO's of AMHash1-2 to fund Gen4 tape-out/chip orders, otherwise why not just self mine. I would say Gen4 is sink or swim for Friedcat. He might even sink before the tapeout date due to the complete disrespect for customers of the prisma orders and attempt to push an IPO nobody wants (btw I would consider it if it wasn't on havelock).

So as a swarm coin holder I get some coins for these new companies also? If this is the case, when do the class one coins get distributed to swarm coin holders?

Seems to me that friedcat/rockxie need to step up the PR on this.

Call coindesk and present your 5PH offering as 'The lowest cost cloud hashing solution' they will definitely do an article on you.

any comments by the counterparty team regarding this strange SEC stuff?

Coin price seems to be tanking.

Havelock... really. Now if this was some counterparty asset I would be impressed. The problem for a lot of people isn't investing in a high risk asset but more who is holding the money in the middle. I may trust friedcat but I also have to trust some guys in Panama who are repeatedly making a loss month on month (reference to havelocks financials).

This company's rating has been updated in the Manufacturer Trustworthiness thread.

[This message won't be monitored, discuss your concerns in the thread.]

Great, now everyone is freaking out because of a minor de-valuation of ASICMiner... Yeah, communications aren't great, but they're fulfilling all their orders, the miners are working, and it doesn't say jack about gen 4 Smiley

Communications are dyer. The problem for me is that it's such an easy problem to remedy, so why not solve it.

Yeah Im waiting for the day fc move to a decentralised exchange.

This pm / email to transfer to havelock is bs.

I would say Havelock is the one of the highest risks to the success of AM. AM is completely dependant on havelock to determine current market price. It's a very risky situation for us shareholders to to be in and a very powerful one for the admins of havelock.

Board members need to push for change. In the end moving to counterparty/alternative would reduce admin - shareholders could also sleep at night knowing their shares are cryptographically embedded into the blockchain.

Well there seems to be some rumbling in our moon-rocket.. .09 is definitely no longer the bottom.

I would suggest with the Prisma in full shipping, anyone who was waiting to buy back in has simply lost their chance.

AM shareholder right?

I think you're the only one who follows this thread who is not a shareholder...

Nah, I drop by occasionally.
BTW, careful about keeping stuff on Havelock.  It can't continue operating in the red indefinitely.  The losses may or may not stem from the proprietor's not sweating the details, like the difference between the numerals 2 and 3.  Not that numbers matter much in finance.

All the more reason to move to a bitcoin 2.0 system like counterparty. If you follow storj or swarm these all have assets on counterparty which can also be traded on the counterparty decentralised exchange (safety) or on centralised exchanges like poloniex.

I imagine friedcat hasn't made the move because of the admin required.

XCP has been on a steady uptrend over the past couple of weeks. Nice to see, looks like this one is definitely a holder.

The supply is low which helps.

Was just checking today, almost 15x return over the average burn price.

The supply is indeed low. It would be silly to sell XCP now when Medici is just around the corner.

It is never silly to sell when you have made 1500% return

You can't predict the future, even if it looks bright for XCP

Fair enough, but the project is not even 1 year old. Investing for only a few weeks/months doesn't make sense. The value of XCP in the next few years could be significant. HODL! =D

And buy.

Oh my!!!

I take back what I said before  Cry

Wow, we're below IPO now! Gone through to 0.09... Holy cow! Friedcat, where are you? Cheesy

Looks like the latest import has just gone through.

Still a pretty dire moment.

Had an email stating my transfer of direct shares to havelock is complete. However if I log into Havelock, I can't see any of the shares. Has anyone else had this problem?

Who sent you the email confirmation?

fnnirvana@gmail.com

Ah just re-read the import process. Havelock have a 48 hour import window. fnnirvana@gmail.com emailed me early yesterday so I guess i'll wait another 24 hours.

Exactly. Took some time for me also.

In the meantime we prepare for the next dump. ^^

Cool thanks for the info. The dump won't be caused by me.

Yes, you probably only transferred your shares because they are safer at Havelock's. Cheesy

Either that or 2 shares could hardly be called a "dump" Wink

Yeah, if my dump causes a price drop you should all be worried. Only a small holder here.
