..digging out this old thread. It seems like www.kenija2012.net is down, by now? Registration Service Provider: Yola, Inc, support@yola.comRegistrar of Record: TUCOWS, INC. Record last updated on 18-Jan-2012. Record expires on 18-Jan-2013. Record created on 18-Jan-2012. Probably simply because of " Record expires on 18-Jan-2013"? Not implying anything is fishy here, but I would like to see this project (and Bitcoin's involvement) not vanish into being completely forgotten.. Ente I don't know what their plan was with the domain, but since this is over now there is no real reason to keep it anymore. Some information can still be found on their facebook page. Yes, if anyone has any contact info related to this project I'd appreciate it if you could PM me. I just wanted to follow up to gauge interest in future Africa work.
You can try contacting them at kenija.odprava@gmail.com. I'll let them know.

If this was your last transaction you can just restore the wallet from backup.

I would like to buy 3 gift codes for "Pay more than the average" humble indie bundle 7. Since these will be for gifts they would need to be sent to my e-mail if dealing with a not-so-trusted member.
I would pay average price + 20% (currently 3*6.53*1.2 = 23.508$ = 1.77 btc). PM me for details, if interested.CLOSED

We really need a full alternative, TBF independent, client. Asap.
bitcoind is the bitcoin protocol. You can't have two different protocols that would be compatible. One thing you're forgetting are the miners. If there were to be a drastic change in the protocol, at least 50% of the miners would have to agree to it, thus I don't see a problem with having one "official" client representing the protocol. For everything else (gui, taint analysis, etc), we already have several clients that follow the same protocol, and you are free to use any one of them.

Did I miss a rant about my person? @vuce: yes, those semester-theses are just for ETH Students, but I see more and more Universities picking up the Topic and maybe your in luck and yours is open to new ideas. More theses will be made available, and I'm always open for new ideas. That's too bad. I tried pitching the idea (bitcoin in general, nothing too specific) to several professors over here but none seemed to be interested

Is this for ETH students only or can anyone apply? nvm, missed that it was already assigned.

Cause you never know who may be able to help you or who even may have extra coins that they can lend in the 1st place
That's what these threads are for, no need for spamming people with pms.

hm well actually the bitcoin protocol enforces only 1 confirmation before a coin can be spent.
There's no such restriction, you can also spend coins with no confirmation, but they will not be included in the block right away.

Yes, I believe it was, that is why I made one. Any other questions? Fair enough. Good luck.

This is great news, but that's the problem. Everyone is just "waiting for the point when they can step in", but no one would actually make the first step.

I don't mind to pay fee. But I mind to do it a way that makes my brain to explode. Real cash is very handy. Bitcoin requires to have 100+ IQ.
Bitcoin is 3 years old. Clients will surely become simpler to use in the next few years.

from the source BTC100 address funds have been syphoned off to a 1Kenya address and then looped through 'empty addresses' (no other trade history) to then reach the end point of Everything that went to the 1kenya address was sold and used to buy medical supplies.

ladida, why do you now need 150 btc when a few hours ago 50 btc were enough? By now you should have figured it out this won't work.
