1  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Should homosexual be legalized in Nigeria. on: May 24, 2024, 02:31:16 PM
Sexuality is inherently biological, not just a feeling, but the narrative surrounding it has become heavily politicized. It seems that certain wealthy and influential groups with harmful agendas are pushing for the legalization of certain behaviors for their own gain, both legally and financially. The stance of our PM appears to lean towards supporting this politicized view, making it challenging to debate. Meanwhile, homosexuality is unlikely to ever be legalized in countries like Russia, China, and North Korea, and they face no international backlash for this stance.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in match fixing? on: May 24, 2024, 02:16:38 PM
So you think in the match between Manchester City and Totteham it was match-fixing, how can you think like this that there were even many incidents where players kicked the ball and were denied by the goalkeeper. so for me this is biased towards that.

About match-fixing it may still exist but in the minor leagues and this is often we encounter news some time ago, but for the big leagues, especially Europe, it is no longer possible to have match-fixing.

So for league matches in Europe I don't believe in match-fixing.
This is how they deceive many people with match-fixing. Match-fixing isn't meant to be obvious, especially when one team appears stronger than the other. I also believe there are many subtle ways to manipulate a match that players may not even be aware of, such as giving them substances that unknowingly weaken their performance. I don't want to sound like a criminal, but do you know how many powerful individuals are involved in match-fixing and the enormous sums of money they make from it? Gambling is one of the biggest and shadiest markets in the world, involving a lot of wealthy people.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Take Profit in this Bullrun on: May 23, 2024, 11:54:42 PM

Some forum members may criticize you for choosing altcoins over Bitcoin, even though they themselves are doing the same to deceive people and secure early positions in altcoins at lower prices. While investing in Bitcoin was a good decision last January, buying it at prices near its previous all-time high isn't a smart move, especially for small investments. It's crucial to thoroughly research any altcoin before investing. Although altcoins carry risks, they also offer high potential returns at this stage in the market.
4  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can democracy really work here in Africa on: May 23, 2024, 11:41:26 PM
Another question that could be asked is "can democracy really work?" due to it either eventually turning into plutocracy once the institutions/pillars of democracy are captured or despotism once ignorant rabble of masses elect demagogues or arrogant social planners to run the shitshow.

Less guberment and a better informed/educated (in the sense of reality and not fiction) is the best option ..."in my opinion" (disclaimer: but but but ..mainly the ignorant have opinions) Can't win really Sad
Leadership in Africa remains largely unchanged, with leaders often making decisions arbitrarily. During colonial times, colonial powers incentivized local leaders to make decisions that facilitated slavery, and those who resisted were killed. Today's leaders, operating under a facade of democracy, are similarly self-serving. They enact laws that promote corruption, use the police for personal protection, and receive support from certain self-interested international governments that benefit from their regimes.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 22, 2024, 06:07:56 PM
If you are a true fan, you will never think of leaving the team just because of this decision of changing or sacking Pochettihnho; if you are a real Chelsea fan, you should have been used to different coaches because Chelsea is a team that don’t usually give coaches long time like Arsenal and Manchester United.
The new Chelsea owners are not actually trying, they don’t believe in any long term process of building team, that is why they are sacking their managers after a failed season, and I don’t think doing so will give the team the best performance they need; over changing managers can even lead the team to downfall because any new coach have to start from beginning and sign another players he feel can do better for him which is another expenses for the team and it will trigger some players to easily leave the club.
Been a die-hard supporter of this club for over 20 years now. Remember the Abrahamovic era fondly, and frankly, I'm pretty bummed about the current ownership under this American billionaire. Seems like they don't have much regard for the fans' wishes. Here's the thing: we all remember the board backing Graham Potter when everyone was up in arms. Felt like he was just following their orders, not ours.

Now, let's talk about Arteta. Yes, he's inexperienced, but look at what he achieved last season! Pochettino took a squad with young players with no experience and bad run of preivious seasons. The board looked at the numbers of missed chances to judge the season, was he Jackson that was kicking the ball out.  Shouldn't the club be focusing on building a team that excites the fans, not just yes-men who rubber-stamp their decisions?

7  Other / Meta / Re: Why not temporary ban coinmapai199264? on: May 22, 2024, 12:04:08 PM
I don't think you need to take him as seriously as you do. Banning or punishing him would be unfair unless he violated forum rules. He shares interest in some coins and dissatisfaction with others, and it's notable that other members haven't responded to his posts. At most, a temporary ban for a few weeks might be warranted if his posts are deemed excessively spammy.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 22, 2024, 11:55:57 AM
I’m looking for a new team to support instead of Chelsea. After yesterday's sacking of coach Pochettino, I've been trying to avoid anything related to Chelsea. I've even unfollowed the board members on Twitter. I can't understand what they expect from managers. Those billionaire owners seem to want a manager who will just bow to them, like Porters. One more season could have made a difference; the statistics prove it. This is a young team with their first experience in England, and Pochettino guided them to winning ways. They played well even during the toughest part of the season when other teams were fighting for survival.Boehly and Eghbali should just go to H**l
9  Economy / Economics / Re: This Will make you rich on: May 22, 2024, 01:19:39 AM
I was looking through the thread for information on how to get really rich, but I didn't find anything valuable. In my opinion, it's not useful to keep opening threads if we don't have substantial content to share. I understand that information on getting rich is widely available, but most people don't follow through consistently because it's often challenging.
10  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How difficult life would have been without Cryptocurrency awareness in Nigeria on: May 20, 2024, 09:46:09 PM
Firstly, I wish that I had an idea or more knowledge about Cryptocurrency earlier, my knowledge currently would've developed better than this and maybe I would've been one of those big Crypto whales all over the net but altogether it's better late than never and I'm glad for the knowledge I've got currently about Cryptocurrency, all thanks to the Bitcointalk forum. If Cryptocurrency never existed, with the rate of poor economy and bad government, the poverty rate would've doubled and trust me the crime rate would've even trippled and I don't even think the government would've been able to handle the situation cause people, mostly the youths would look for any means of survival I mean in country where the government is bad, economy is down with no job opportunities how then would people survive if not crime, but thanks to Cryptocurrency that's kept many Nigerian youths off the streets and provided job opportunities for more citizens thereby reducing the crime rate. That's one thing the government should consider and be happy about instead of blaming Cryptocurrency for the lose of value of our currency.
The main difference between investing in cryptocurrency in Nigeria now compared to a few years ago is the foreign exchange rate. Investors need to provide more naira to purchase cryptocurrency today. Unfortunately, most exchanges are removing naira P2P options, making it less attractive for new traders.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin need more developers? on: May 20, 2024, 09:09:26 PM
If there are more people willing to join the team of developers, then they are free to join, after all, the code is open source.

The recent developments in Bitcoin highlight the need for more developers. However, the space must ensure adequate security while welcoming new participants. The most critical challenge remains protecting the team from hackers.

Is it the work of the team to protect other teams from being hacked, or do they focus on the main development of the Bitcoin network, detect and fix bugs, and also improve the protocol where necessary? If there is anything that needs to be protected from hacking, it's the Bitcoin network itself and not the team involved.

Maybe I didn't phrase it clearly in my previous post, but I meant that the current team should be cautious about who they allow in. Many cryptocurrency projects have been hacked by insiders who were carelessly brought in. Once they saw the opportunity and the funds they could access, their greed took over.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Can Utility like DeFi Transform a Memecoin's Status? on: May 19, 2024, 05:51:35 PM
Hey guys, I'm inclined to believe that memecoins are generally fueled by community hype and even KOL or celebrity figures. The recent of these peculiar example I can remember is SLERF.

What seems to both catch my attention and puzzle me is when memecoin tend to have utility. Yesterday I saw Catamoto which I knew as a memecoin were now having DeFi functionalities and were even forging strategic partnership with big names like BlueZilla.

My question is, do project like these stop being a memecoin? Can this be a DeFi platform with its memecoin or just a memecoin forever? What is the threshold? Are there others like this?

Cheers guys
I understand and agree with your caution regarding the hype in cryptocurrency. Only a few concepts in the cryptocurrency space will succeed, particularly those that fulfill a genuine need and have a strong platform. However, I believe that gaming and gambling tokens will continue to thrive, regardless of the bear market and downturns.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 18, 2024, 10:49:33 PM
The internet is full of memes about Antony. Here is the video: https://www.tiktok.com/@user.ye.naing/video/7368326023902989569
If I didn't know Antony and was a newbie watching football, for a moment I would think that this sub is gonna change the fate of the match and Arsenal prescribed a legit nightmare to themselves but seriously, what a joke was it Cheesy Bro really thinks that he is better than the prime Messi. If I saw such a face expression on Messi, I wouldn't be surprised but c'mon Antony, you have only scored 1 goal this season.
There are people who pay millions in NFTs and Bitcoin Ordinals and there are also those who payed 95 million in Antony.

It is probably the worst nightmare ever that a man can imagine, when you have Harry Maguire and Antony in the same team.
Messi's legendary performances on the field are a blend of immense talent, a strong football team, and effective management. Similarly, Ronaldo's success can be attributed to a combination of hard work and fortunate circumstances, as many disciplined young players during his time went unnoticed by managers like Alex Ferguson. Good management also involves curbing the arrogance that can develop with early achievements. Ronaldo thrived under Ferguson's guidance, even while playing alongside Ryan Giggs. Antony, too, needs a coach who can manage his ego and help him focus on improving his weaknesses.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How active can a newbie be daily? on: May 18, 2024, 10:41:12 PM
While being active can help you gain merit and rank up to participate in campaigns, it's true that the forum doesn't have as many campaigns as it once did. So, the focus might be better spent elsewhere.

Instead, I highly recommend diving into the wealth of information on this forum. In the early days, some of the brightest minds in crypto shared their valuable insights here, helping the space flourish. Even though these developers may not be as active anymore, their posts remain incredibly relevant and insightful on many topics.

This shift in focus emphasizes the forum's role as a knowledge base rather than a campaign hub

17  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are the Western people very apolitical? on: December 30, 2023, 07:24:06 PM
It is the western government that decides this apolitical position with such a terrible conservative government that controls the meida as much as it does. As a result of this governing system, young citizens are timid and undaring and prone to snowflaking. A controlled system and soft handling of growing children mean they are only giving out their government to immigrants
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My btc full year plan 2024 on: December 30, 2023, 06:59:55 PM
This is way too much complicated. I don't want to do all this analysis and come up with a strategy that may or may not work in the future depending on the situation. I will try to stick to my old buddy DCA method. Keep on accumulating Bitcoin until the bull run starts, and my target is reached.

shit that prediction overlooked the ETF effect. are you not consider the BTC halving anymore?

because afaik when there is halving, the prices will already be going up after months or right when it's happening. but if this is going to be how BTC price goes, and the altcoins are skyrocketing, i would be disappointed to what ORDI had done that investors are already skipping BTC.
Wait, as far as I know the bull market does not start immediately or during the Bitcoin halving event. It takes more than a year for Bitcoin to create a new all-time high. During the event of few weeks after the event, we can see potential growth in Bitcoin price but it's not the final result. The price pump will happen, which could take more than a year. But the recent pump in altcoins market does indicate a different story.
The history of bitcoin contradicts your assertion, in the last few years the price reached a new high during the same year. In addition, I believe the bull market has begun, and the halving is all that is needed to break the new all-time high. Considering bitcoin's current price, it should make sense for the pump to be steady, breaking ATH cannot occur overnight or in a month
19  Economy / Economics / Re: How will the BRICS currency influence Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2023, 06:53:30 PM
Let's avoid any discussion about Bitcoin being attacked by Governments or institutions. Those notions are distracting and can be categorized as FUD. There won't be an attack on the dollar like there is in the real world. In my opinion, a new market for stable currency trading will emerge, and the size of that market will need to be determined with fiat exchange. It is only necessary for me to know the reasoning behind it from the top four countries and why they are only starting to consider it now.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto investment vs real estate investment : Which one more dependable? on: December 29, 2023, 10:29:23 PM
Which one should I go for with a capital less than $2500?
But what can you even do in real estate with just $2,500? If that’s the capital then I’d say you rather invest it in cryptocurrency (the right cryptocurrencies so you don’t end up not having nothing). Real estate investment is really a good business that even I want to venture into someday. But unfortunately, it requires enough money and I’ve noticed that people who often invest in real estate are people who have businesses that they can take money from. Even with less than $2,500, you can DCA crypto investment but you can’t do the same for real estate.
There isn't much you can do with $2500 real estate, but there are a lot of things you can do with cryptocurrency, which has a high return. My recommendation is to hold close to 25 cryptocurrencies, both old and new, and to conduct intensive research before deciding to take positions. Exit smartly early and don't get greedy, you can get a better return on investment by investing after the bull market with 5x-10x.
