1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.8 (Windows/Linux) on: August 09, 2017, 10:22:09 AM
How can I tell claymore miner to ignore one gpu?
and alternativly to mine something else on one gpu.

so far I have been disabling the gpu in device manager when launching claymore but that is kinda silly

press 0-9 in claymore when it is active 0 shuts down mining on gpu 0   1 on gpu 1 and so on

Or if you have 6 gpus and you do not want to use one set -di 0,1,2,4,5 in bat file. In this case the program will not mine with fourth card

I am updated:)

CONFIRM it's work, rig six cards rx470 rx470 rx480 rx570 rx570 rx570

WARINING! For this drivers need msi afterburner 4.4.0 BETA 15 !!!!!!!!!! or overclocking don't work!!!

We had 164 mh/s

We have now 171 mhs

Why your hashrate fluctuates so much? Do you have any other apps opened? If you go to task manager, detail and then right click on EthDcrMiner64.exe and set priority to high it should stop fluctuating. But I don't know how to permanently set priority because it resets every time I close the miner or restart my rig.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: August 01, 2017, 11:00:35 PM
Restart more than 20 times and with zero received data or sharing, I guess this is also all about token sale and trading tokens on exchanges, or maybe renting my hard drive was never the goal of me downloading 50MB of software and running it for hours to get jack shit.

You need to run Storj Share at least for a month 24/7.

Do you expect to run it for a few hours and get rewards?

There are thousands of Storj farmers out there all competing for data, you need to run it and wait like everyone else to get some data on your HD.

It has nothing to do with the token sale.
OK, now I have a question, couldn't big companies like google already with data centers and everything ready with cheap resources, since they get everything in bulk, rent their storage and then other people will be left with jack squad? was this an attempt to make big data centers to lower their prices over time by competing for data?
All I think about it I can only see such big names with the best chances of earning, if a starter like me would have to run the client for a month just to get started then no wonder....... lol
I don't want to get rewarded right away but sharing and the distribution of data should be decided by code and not by users, if I'm not mistaken, people could choose which host to use? then I could never host anything I guess, I also have no peers, is that normal? I have a delta of less than 70ms.

folow these steps for best performance

Hi,
If I understand correctly Consumers of electricity will still have to pay tax to company that owns the grid. What are benefits of this pool of producesrs and consumers. If I own sun power plant how Will I be able to connect to that pool. If I own an electric car or powerwall Will I be able to use it as a grid balancer. When it is sunny I charge it from the grid and when it is cloudy or night I sell the electricity stored in it. If one day all electricity is going to be produced by alternative energy sources some kind of grid balancerrs will be needed because wind doesn't always blow and sun is not always shining. I need more information. I think the idea is good but the whitepaper is just not detailed enough for me. I invested 4 ETH in ICO, I think your project is great.

Kind regards from Slovenia Smiley

Hi,
main benefit will be lower costs we will have because of blockchain. We will also have lower margins then retailers.

With time we will add new functionalities so eventually also your car could become balancer.

Solar and wind power will not be the only energy sources in the pool. We will use different resources too balance energy needs.

Regards back to you from Ljubljana

But why costs will be lower. I don't really understand how electricity is sold to me now so I also don't understand the benefits. I asume that electricity is not just sent to me from power plant but it is traded to those companies that sell it to me. Correct me if I am wrong and enlighten me more.

Hi guys,
I`m planning to change my pc. how can i move the wallet to the new pc without losing my balance? just copy and paste the bitcore folder where bitcore-qt is located?
thanks

You need to copy files from the folder where your wallet's data are saved (all transactions and your balance...). Usually it is located in %APPDATA%\Bitcore\ or where you set it to be located. I install my wallet on external hdd and set data folder on external hdd also so it is all together.

Don't know about you guys, but taking this time and stocking up on cheap BTX.

BUY THE DIP!

Do you think BTX has some future? I don't really understand what are features of BTX but I am mining it while the difficulty is low.

Ok, i have 1+Gh hashing power, if i can't to mine solo on windows wallet, how to create my own pool?

Are you mining on suprnova? Beacause somebody is mining with 1,25 GH hah. Where do you get all that power. How many gpus and which ones do you have?

That's the results a friend got from his RX 470 and also for his GTX 970. I get a bit more than 10 000 kh/s per RX 480 8gb, 10 000 kh/s with a GTX 1060 (intensity @17 because it is a laptop) and 16 000 kh/s from my GTX 980ti. Hope it helps you

Btw the provided sgminer doesn't seem to work well with R9 290 (with intensity @10 I get 600 kh/s per card)
which miner do you use for nvidia?

I use this ccminer : http://bitsend.info/forums/index.php?topic=178.msg1298#msg1298

Did you try higher intensity? I get only 60 kh/s with -I 8 but at -I 23 is max that Works for me and it is way faster.

I tried upto 22 but the miner seemed to hang on indefinitely, i stopped it after an hour. My R9's are bios modded do you think it could be an issue ?
I'm just curious and it can still help people that would have the same issue, but i disassembled the R9's rig as I received my RX 480 today

I don't think it should matter because I also have modded hd7950. I had some problems at start. Afterburner showed +0 voltage at slidebar but it should show +956. So I restarted the computer and then it worked.

Is 9000 kh/s good for rx470? I've seen that riskyFire have about 9000 kh/s on gtx 970. The 5000 kh/s one is hd7950 and almost 10000 kh/s one is rx480 8gb.

Something I do when assembling a miner is to use an eraser on all the contacts to remove any oils or corrosion/oxidation. I suppose a normal pencil eraser would work in a pinch, but I always keep stand-alone erasers on hand. You know.......the rectangular erasers an inch or so wide and a couple of inches long and maybe 3/8th thick.
Do you mean rubber eraser?
I use Pink Pearl

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e8/Office-pink-erasers.jpg/300px-Office-pink-erasers.jpg

Thank you for your tip. I have similar problem like ivomm and will definitely try this if only reassembling does not help. I have 3 rx470, 1 rx480 and 1 hd7950. HD7950 hangs in OpenCl after an hour and whole miner freezes.

Hi guys, would appreciate a little help please.

I remember the early claymore versions were using a lot of cpu power....Just wanted to know if the latest version is using much of the cpu because I want to use a celeron cpu..

Can anyone please confirm that celeron cpus are ok and if yes which ones are ok for 1150?

Also is 4gb ram enough?

Thank you.

Running 2 mobos one with a 1156 i3 and the other with a 1150 celoron. Both with 4 gigs of memory. On the 1150 uses 5% of CPU with 200 meg pages and 3 gig free phisical memory. All under win7, one home the other pro

Thanks so much for the info.....So basically the same..

Does not affect the speed of your GPUs?

What model celeron please?

I use Celeron G1840 in my rigs and I use Core i3-4160 only in 1 rig. I didn't experience any difference in mining hashrate. Claymore fixed the CPU-usage problem couple of months ago.

So you can use the cheapest Celeron for mining, everyone does that. CPU mining is not worth the investment and also the electricity cost, so you never need better CPU than the G1840.

try mining Nexus with cpu. I get 80 PPS with one core on celeron g1620 and it uses only around 15 watts but it slightly affects zcash mining. Accordingly to nexus mining calculator I get 0.6$ worth of nexus per day with electricity cost deducted. If you have better CPU then it maybe wouldn't affect zcash speed. I get 190 PPS with three cores on xeon e5450 3ghz. So if you run nexus miner for one month it almost pays back the processor.

Claymore,

I have 42 Radeon 7970's. I've been mining with your miners for a year. I get 1.17KHs with 12.0 on a 4 card rig but every version after that lowers my hashrate.  I just tried 12.4 and same problem. All cards hash slower. Getting 1.05 max.

Any suggestions? I have increased the voltage but that doesn't seem to do it.

Thanks.

Have you installed newer drivers? I get less h/s with those 17.x.x drivers than with 16.9.2

Hi fellow miners. I would like to know which cards are better for mining in general. AMD or NVidia. I mean right now the most proffitable coin on Nicehash is zcash but what if zcash is not proffitable anymore, which cards can mine other coins very well. I know that rx480 has 310 sol/s and 27 MH/s ethereum but gtx 1070 gets 430 sol/s and also around 28 MH/s. Which cards are good for the most coins?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: March 01, 2017, 09:49:32 PM
Anyone has gtx 770 2gb? How much h/s can you get? I get 250 h/s on radeon hd 7950 3gb and I want to buy another card to play video games but also mine when not playing. I am choosing between these two but can't decide. Gtx 770 is 110€ but hd7950 is 80€. Gtx 770 is better for gaming though.

Anyone has any info how much h/s r7 cards do? I found one r7 240 4gb with 45 w tdp for 50€. How god are those cards?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 18, 2017, 07:35:09 AM
modded rx 470 -285 h/s (80W in Afterburner), modded rx480 - 305 h/s (86W in Afterburner), modded HD7950 - 245 h/s (around 110w I think). Very nice results Claymore, you made equihash most profitable algo at nicehash again.

would you pls post your settings?

BR
rx470 4gb: one has 1256 mhz and other has 1260 mhz stock clocks, mem clock is 1750 mhz. Voltage is 985 mV.
rx480 8gb: core clock is 1266 mhz stock and mem clock is 2000 mhz. Voltage is 961 mV.
hd7950 3gb: core clock is 900 mhz, mem clock is 1250 mhz all stock. Voltage is 956 mV.

Thanks alot. but one thing i dont get i was searching and searching and then i gaved up.
In Afterburner the Core Voltage (mV) is set to 0. what do i change there? i can change from -100 to +100.

BR

You change mVolts. If your card is running on 1120 mV and you change it to -100 then you get 1020 mV. But I couldn't lower it more so I changed it in gpu's bios to 985 mV

is it save to change it to -100? sry for the noob question but i have no clue of undervolting and what will happen if i undervolt to much.

BR
I think it is safe. If you undervolt too much, card frezzes and you need to restart computer.
