Well, there's AMHash2 thru AMHash 5, offered at a potentially higher initial price.

Higher? You mean higher than you are ?
You may want to check how few have sold so far.

...hence my criticism about expectation-setting? Man, this place is weird.
2  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: October 28, 2014, 04:23:04 PM

I think it would been a far more successful IPO launch to offer a tremoundous price per hash for the IPO, which would then attract investors and stimulate the buying and selling on havelock after the IPO. The way it is priced now, although a decent and fair price, you can only really imagine the price going down and that's even if the IPO gets filled at all.

So, a loss leader? I would worry about expectation-setting for AMHash2, if that contract will be structured like AMHash1.

Really this is like a gift from AM Wink

So...a loss leader Smiley

It doesn't follow as they have no other product to offer.
AM needs to unload the chips before the end of their useful life.  Chip sales aren't working - I believe this us more of a "plan D".  Loss leader simply doesn't fit in this context but I may be missing something.

Well, there's AMHash2 thru AMHash 5, offered at a potentially higher initial price.

There's also simply the movement of overstock to reduce inventory and stimulate cash flow. Which in turn funds the development and sale of Gen 4.

I agree though, that this is semantics, and a bit of a Plan D.  I still think that an AM special dividend would work wonders in stimulating demand for AMHash 1.

AMHash1 IPO is 18% filled ....

I see ~3.7% (186650/5000000)

Hmm I'm seeing on Havelock 812,969 remaining out of 1,000,000 units.  Perhaps they are only offering the first tranche atm?
6  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: October 27, 2014, 04:09:14 PM
AMHash1 IPO is 18% filled with a week to go, and the topic thread is rather quiet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=833704.60

It seems like an unsuccessful IPO is a real possibility, which would not only be a depressing outcome for the offering, but could also lead to a negative feedback loop of lost confidence in AM.

Let's face it -- IPOs are about intrigue.  If I were FC, I would declare a special dividend to AM shareholders as soon as possible, making clear that it's one time only. The amount isn't important -- but going through the motions of a dividend will turn some heads and be a great opportunity to put the spotlight on AMHash1.

I don't think it's unfair to say that lots of people have forgotten about AM and regard Havelock as a place where investments go to die. If AMHash1 is actually a quality offering then it should sell itself once people know about it. I think an AM1 special dividend is the way to get that done.

Who is ASICMINER?
ASICMINER is the first bitcoin mining device company in the world selling mining devices in stock(own ASIC chips),founded in 2012. And ASICMINER's deployed more than 30% hashrate in the whole world last year, it's still the most concerned and popular company in community.More details can be found at the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.0

What is cloud mining?
Cloud mining or cloud hashing is a brand new concept, which allows users to form groups (pools), where their joint efforts are rewarded with greater income, compared to solo mining. All Bitcoin mining is done in the cloud, without any offline hassle, such as electricity, hosting issues, or installation and upkeep trouble. Thus, everybody can earn extra revenue with little to no risk.

Why choose AMHash?
1. Trustable; ASICMINER is a trusted and well-known company in bitcoin community and AMHash is the project run by ASICMINER and RockMiner .
2. Higher ROI; low cost on both initial price and maintenance fee(only 1.6USD/day).
3. Flexible trading; the contract is fully tradable at the secondary market through Havelock Investments trading platform allowing you to exit your position at any time.
4. Guaranteed profit; Compared to others, AMHash1 Fund will pay you dividends based on hashrate equivalent calculation protecting your earnings and shielding you from hardware maintenance cost and risk.
5. It simplifies the ROI estimations by eliminating the factors involved in constructing a mining farm, such as infrastructure cost, shipping time, repairing, electricity bill and labor.
6. 100% real hasharate.

Looks like AMHash is trading on AM's goodwill, trustworthiness and popularity, which have clearly eroded. Seems like this venture will depend in large part on PR, which is AM's Achilles heel.  I just hope FC and Co. have learned some lessons from Gen 3, and have connected the dots between poor communication and low demand.

In my view the pulse of AM these days is the good old AM mining address:

https://blockchain.info/address/1HtUGfbDcMzTeHWx2Dbgnhc6kYnj1Hp24i

While I don't know where those bits are going, at least someone is sweeping them on a somewhat regular basis, so I guess that's comforting?

Is there a Q3 financial update expected?

LOL perhaps by the dreamers

Smh at the "Dear Friedcat" posts. I sincerely doubt he keeps up with this thread; those wanting to contact him should probably send PMs (although feel free to paste the correspondence here!).

So while we're loitering in the information vacuum...do any believers out there feel like laying out their predictions for Gen 3 outcomes?

EDIT: Better yet, how about response predictions to the questions list?

There is a speculation thread for speculations.  Please try to keep this one as uncluttered as possible for news and clarification of that news.

Fair point Explorer, although tbh I was less interested in speculative opinions than in reminding people that these questions have been out for over 3 weeks now, to prompt a discussion about that without contributing to the FUD.

Shareholders questions were submitted to Friedcat.

Thank you all for taking the time to participate in this round of shareholders questions.

1) Could you please provide an estimate on:
- When the next dividend can be expected ?
- When ASICminer will become cash-flow positive ?

2) Regarding self-mining and franchising:
- What is the current status of self mining and franchising ?
- What partners are and will be working with ASICminer ?
- What do the respective partnership agreements entail ?
- How many PH (including percentages from franchising) will -directly- contribute to ASICminer mining income ?

3) How many PH/s of gen 3 have already been sold/shipped by now ?

4) Has the "60 PH/s batch" progressed any further ? When is it supposed to be completely done ? How much has already been sold ?

5) Given the ratio of 1/3 retained and 2/3 paid out of the revenue, is this after deducting costs for upcoming batches/expenses or are those part of the 1/3 of retained capital ?

6) AM sells chips to multiple mining companies including Rockminer, Datatank, Bitgarden, Hashratio is it possible to get some clarity on the relationships AM has with different groups ?

7) Is Asicminer selling chips at cost already ? Rumors have been going around that it is known in China that the chips are being sold at cost. Can we please have a confirm/deny on these rumors and explanation why ?

8 ) The last post mentioned that average sales cost is about .5$/gh, is this still the average ?

9) Has AM any stock repurchase plan for now or in the future ?

10) Regarding Gen 4, can you give us rough (plus/minus a month or two) estimates on:
- When tape-out is expected ?
- When production is expected ?
- When the first chips will be in hand ?

11) Personal question from shareholder freedomno1 : Hi friedcat I have been receiving several requests for replacement baseboards/ power boards and parts for the block erupter cube and was wondering if their is a repair service or parts store available that I can relay to those individuals to contact with if something breaks.
15  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: July 17, 2014, 05:15:10 PM
My understanding is that the last time Friedcat answered questions, those questions were sent to him on June 1 and answered on June 5th.

This time, questions were sent to Friedcat on June 29th and we've had 18 days of silence.

If anyone is being bipolar around here I would say that's the reason, and a defensible one.  The unpredictability is a tough pill to swallow.
16  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: July 15, 2014, 02:59:14 PM
The silence really is deafening. Has anyone actually sent the questions list to the feline-in-chief?

Although as long as it isn't The Cat, I don't really care...
