1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex Support on: October 03, 2017, 04:43:13 AM
I stopped using poloniex couple of months ago because i red lots of people are having problems with that exchange, more problems means more tickets to support and I think that is the reason why they are so slow on dealing with users issues and answering to tickets.

I think Poloniex totally dumped their support side.   It's in their best interest to not help people get their coins back as they then become Polo's coins.  It's part of their exit strategy.

Think about it people.  When is the last time you heard of someone actually getting a ticket worked on by Polo's support?

If you still have coins on Polo, get them out of there as quick as you can before it's too late (if it isn't already).
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: September 27, 2017, 08:24:44 AM
lol, been waiting for 96 days for my support ticket. SCAM
They are laughing at us, while they're counting monies.

Yep.  Poloniex is on what you would call an exit stratagy.  If you noticed they dumped the trollbox a while back.  that was the instant support channel.  they put a notice up that they moved those people to support but it appears they dumped support too.  basically all of our transactions that are 'stuck' are gone to us.  kiss them goodbye.  ChickenBacon is right.   They are laughing at us while counting their (found) money.

I've got support tickets open for 92, 87, 68, and 31 days.  I've gotten to the point where I just check back once in a while but I've written it off that I'll ever see my coins again.  I've gotten everything off of their exchange and on to other exchanges except is what is 'stuck processing' so I'm pretty lucky.  I think a lot of people are going to lose everything when they try to withdrawl as it appears that withdrawl issues are getting more and more common.   funny how that magically works, isn't it?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: August 26, 2017, 11:41:56 PM
Have you replied to that ticket (48 days pending) after creating it?

6 times.   but I'm not sure if replying to it helps it or puts it back at the end of the queue.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: August 26, 2017, 11:09:20 PM
People are very frustrating service. A lot of advice don't use Poloniex. Support team does not answer even after many days, it's so bad. Poloniex needs to improve the situation. I'm not using it now but hope it better.
I dont know what exactly is happening with poloniex. I have already moved all my funds out of there as I am not going to take anymore risk with them.

I think it's call "exit strategy".   They got rid of the moderators (and chat box) to eliminate the instant communications.   From what I gather I don't think anyone is getting any support tickets answered.  I know I have one that's been open for 48 days with no response.  I've got all coins moved off of Poloniex except the 6,000 stuck in the forever 'Processing' which is what the ticket is open for.  At this point I guessing I'll just be writing it off like everyone else will be doing because their coins are stuck in a withdrawl.

Does it strike anyone as odd how the deposits to Poloniex always seem to make it there but the withdrawals get magically stuck and mysteriously the support staff (if there are any left) don't ever get around to working on them?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.7 (Windows/Linux) on: July 20, 2017, 02:17:45 PM
I am doing Dual Mining for 3 days.

My Rig normally gives me 300-350$ Only ETH mode in one Month

Using ETH + SC it gives me extra +50/60$

Is there any more profitable Dual mining ?

Use whattomine.com to see what combination gives you the best results for your cards.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 25, 2017, 05:38:21 AM
Has anyone experienced claymore destroying your wifi connection?

Without claymore running I can ping my gateway all <50ms.  As soon as claymore starts mining the connection seems to be wrecked. Pings drop and claymore cannot access the network. Some pings get through but very few and with huge delays (3000 ms).

The only solution I've seen people talk about is hardwiring.  I've noticed it only happens with my new router and my rig on the old router works.  However I cannot reach the old router from where I want the new rig.

I did find a way out of this, it looks like is some kind of interference of the GPUs working, Claymore does not have anything to do with this.
Had a free PCIe slot, have a PCIe wifi adapter, if I install it right on the slot the connection would be there but the system keep drooping shares, so I installed a raiser in order to get the wifi adapter far from the rig, now it works wonderfully

Just my 2 cents

wow, if this is the answer, I'll be so happy.  I am using windows 10 and a usb wifi chip.  I'll get a small hub and see if I can put the wifi card further away.  Last night when I tried the usb wifi was sitting right under the GPUs.  I was suspicious of interference, but didn't think too hard about it.

Now that I think about it, an USB cable extension should be enough too, gonna buy me a few of those to find out

This solved my issue!  I still have router communication problems, but at least the rigs can talk!

Much appreciated!

Ok, I'll admit that I thought you guys were crazy when you first brought this subject up but today I set my cell phone next to one of my rigs while I was working in the area.  After a while I picked it  up to check it and it was registering no service.  Didn't give it much thought and rebooted it just to make sure it wasn't messed up (it's an older android).  Later in the day I set it back down again in the same spot and a couple hours later I grabbed it and once again no service.

So there is something to the interference claim.  However, I don't think it is Claymore's problem.   He may have contributed to it by pushing the cards harder but, hey, isn't that what we want anyway?  If I were to guess I would imagine that the interference is from the cards being pushed hard and the fact that most of us are running open air chassis, there is no metal 'faraday cage' to shield the interference from being a problem like there would be if the GPU was in a normal computer case.

Agree - very good software, developer need some fee, but user always can do disable fee if he doesn't agree. Newbies please do more reading  than writing.

Its not the fee, I understand that, it makes sense.

Its how he doesn't advertise it has both his ETH address and Decred address fully set up.

Its actually hard to find info on how to set it up from him.

His addresses are in there for examples otherwise people new to his software would have even more questions as to what the addresses look like and where to put them.  Seems pretty straight forward to me.

thank you. how long you think it will take to reflect on my wallet? im not in a hurry, just wondering since is my first time at this, i been mining for the last 12 hrs usually 100 H/s and i dont see nothing yet. whats the minimum speed required??  Huh

Take a look at this site, it calculates the approximate amount and time depending on the mining power.

thank you so much guys for your help, eventually i will buy a powerful video card (if available lol) im also trying cpu mining with nheqminer on my work computer, is it ok if i do both on my home computer? i got a R9 270 2GB, 16gb ram and i7 6700k with water cooling

You can run both a cpu miner and a gpu miner at the same time however I have a feeling that it will cost more in electricty to run the cpu miner (it will max out your cpu and run the computer harder, fans more, etc) than what it will make since the difficulty is so high now.  But it's not a bad thing to try if you are trying to just learn more about the process.  Give it a try.

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Custom R9 380 BIOS for 23-24Mh/s on: June 21, 2017, 09:11:33 PM
Hi forum,

Thank you very much for your kindness with sharing ROM's.  Much appreciated.  I'm assuming the 380NR1150.ROM would be fine for both brands and types of 380's I have.  I just wanted to make sure before I have a go with it.

I have the PowerColor PCS+ Radeon R9 380 4GB and the ASUS STRIX Radeon R9 380 4GB.  Which see:  http://imgur.com/a/v0WXU

Can someone tell me which one of the three (3) R9 380 ROM's to use for these two cards?

The choices are:

#1 - 380NR.ROM
#2 - 380NR1100.ROM
#3 - 380NR1150.ROM

Thanks,

David

Did you ever figure out what to use on your ASUS Strix Radeon R9 380 4Gb card?   What did you do to it and what are you getting now?

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 19, 2017, 07:16:41 PM
So we're all going to see a drop in hashrate in the next four hours?
Check your equipment, I have the r9 380 and get with each 23.5 Mhash. Check -ethi , SET options in your configuration file. Remember, in the help file the parameters are from 2 GB video card
I say that when properly configured miner video card, the VA will not lose in the speed of hashing. I had a year and a half ago 23.5 Mches much the same I get today.

What brand & settings are you using on the 380?  I have a few of those in one of my rigs and I've never gotten numbers like that out of them.

I have the same issue with him! My rig have 6 VGA Giga 3gb, but 1st VGA stoped Sad Have anyone help us Sad(

If you are having a single card first (others may fail afterward but usually starts with the same card), check your riser.  specifically I would replace the cheap USB cable that comes with it along with the power adapter if you are using it.  That's where most of my failures have been from.  The other thing to check is to put a meter at the wall and see what your total draw is and make sure you are not maxing out your power supply.

Nothing but Newbies arguing with other Newbies in this thread.

Clear sign that it will be time to sell GPUs in the near near future.

If any of them had done much research before investing they would have realized they would have been smarter using that money investing in the coins on the exchanges.  I make a hell of a lot more money playing the exchanges than I do mining.   I'm just glad all my miners have paid for themselves and I'm in the black no matter what.  Most of these newbies will never re-coupe the money they invested in hardware.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 17, 2017, 04:01:23 PM
I don't understand why anyone would mine in dual mode if the fee is 2%... The additional 1% is not covered by DCR/LBRY/SC profit.

Am I understanding this right?

You will pay the 2% on the eth side always.  When devfee kicks in you don't lose anything on the dcr/lbry/sc side at all.  Think of it as a bonus coin.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 16, 2017, 10:14:46 PM
I've been mining successfully using Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5  on Windows 10 using 2x480 4gb cards.  The last two days Ive been getting an error the "DAG file (epoch# 129) creation failed" and "open cl error cannot write big buffer with dag"

Here are the options I've been running it with:
-epool us1.ethpool.org:3333 -ewal 0x0eaccc7749599bccd3b91a41afd51f9f45f895e8.riglediggle3 -epsw x -dpool http://dcr.pool.mn:4722 -dwal lilbit.1 -dpsw 1

This system has been running fine for months, so I'm assuming things were broken by a hardware failure or windows update.  Any other options?

I'm guessing Claymore made some fixes by now but on Apr 13, 2016 there were other people getting that error (I did a search in the forum) and Claymore responded with this"

"Read OP:
1. Check disc space.
2. remove DAG files and start miner.

I will fix all these issues soon."

not sure if that will help send you in the right direction or not.

I'm assuming you are getting it on both cards.  If so, I doubt it's a hardware failure.   If it's only on one card, then maybe.

yep.  buy a new card if you want to mine ETH.  Your card only has 2Mb.  it's not enough.

(BTW - this is a prime example of the same question being asked over and over.  a look just a few pages back and you would see the same answers)
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 16, 2017, 04:43:25 AM
Hi, Claymore

Could you please modify your miner in the way so it forces a user to pass series of tests even before a download to filter out uneducated, arrogant, lazy and greedy people out Smiley

LMFAO!!!    The influx of newbies is crazy the last few weeks.   Someone should write a script to count how many times the same exact question can be asked over and over!

Newbies:   BEFORE you even think about posting a question, go back and read at least the last 10 pages of this forum.  Chances are your question has been asked and answered several damn times.  Then if you don't see it, read the "Readme!!!.txt" file that Claymore so graciously spent his time on for you.   It's filled with what will most likely answer your question.  (Plus you might even learn how to optimize your miner as well.)  After all of that if you still can't figure it out, then by all means please ask.  But if you can't do the two things prior to asking, don't expect to be spoon fed from the people you are competing against.

Wolf0, I'm a little confused on the memory issue.  What is the desired memory on the RX480?  Are there any to totally stay away from?  And how can you tell what memory a card has before you buy it.  I search for specs and it's not something that really seems to be listed.  Maybe I'm missing it.

4GB is more than adequate. If you have 8GB it might hash slightly faster but a lot of the extra memory is not used for mining.

Sorry. I should have been more specific.  I'm talking about the brand of memory.    If I'm wanting a good performing card, what is the better brand of memory to seek out.  And how can you tell what it is before you buy it.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 13, 2017, 03:29:03 PM
Hi Everybody:

As a lot of messages I have seen here, I will start stating that I'm new here and new in mining, I started mining on friday, so far great, I have learnt a lot.

Right now I am mining with only 3 ASUS STRIX RX580 8GB OC, I have reduced the GPU clock in 5% and increased the memory clock speed to 2200 MHz, I have got 27.4 MH/s from 24.5MH/s, all this in AMDs Wattman, I had problems with the Asus Aura Light Effects, it seems it mess with the MH/s fluency, It is off and uninstalled now.

I have read about some widely known power adjustments, I understand the idea is to reduce voltage, so reduce power consumption, and increase memory clock speed, so increase MH/s, I have read too about doing it with AMDs Wattman or MSIs AfterBurner, and about bios flashing.

Knowing many has been able to get 29MH/s and 135 Watts of power from this cards, my questions so far are the following:

- There is need to flash a new bios to get the best performance?, if so, how many MH/s could I get?, or power reduction?.
- If I can get similar improvements with AMDs Wattman, which are the parameters I must use?.

Thank you very much for your support.

Carlos

If you're still using Windows (which is about as stable as a house of cards during a hurricane), then you can easily undervolt using MSI AB or whatever. Also, only 27.4MH/s? Those can't be Samsung, are they?

LOL.... "...If you're still using Windows (which is about as stable as a house of cards during a hurricane)..." ~ Wolf0, 2017

thanks for brief grin... needed one.... after the BTC bloodbath last night

27.5mh -- standard 1500 straps -- maybe Elpida memory

possibly SK-Hynix... lucky card this

Use GPUZ to find out memory type

It seems I am Lucky, these are Samsung, just checked.

What I need to change?, which settings must I use?.

Thx very much,

Damn! I thought copy+paste hackjob from 1750 -> 2000 would do better than that on Samsung K4G80325FB. I figured at least 28.5MH/s (which still, for Samsung, is not good) but... wow.

Does anyone else notice that you don't get what Whattomine.com says you should get on Suprnova.cc?    Whattomine seems to be very accurate for other pools for me but when it comes to suprnova.cc I always get way less.  i.e. today I switched over to zclassic and it showed I should be getting 6.2 ZCL  (est 24hr is 8 ZCL) hours but in the last 10.5 hours it has only produced 2.3 ZCL.  At that rate I would only get about 5 today.

maybe it's just me but I thought I would throw this out there to see what other people are seeing.
