For mem straps, we can probably do the same as now - Copy straps from 2 timings lower. 1625 > 1750 & 2000 for 8GB cards. 1500 > 1625 & 1750 for 4GB cards. Voltage and clocks will be a matter of trial & error & preference.
Except you wont have polarisbioseditor to do it ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Better start learning how to do it by hand. Polaris won't work with the new cards?

will these be worth buying right now since vega when it comes out will blow these away what pricing will they have

Can you share Core clock and Memory Clock?
1350/2250 what kind of memory do you have, Samsung? care to share you're bios?

so this this normal? isn't it skipping all these things to work on? i'm just not getting any shares ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif)

I got it omg Im so happy! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I was able to get it by booting up on 1 gpu to setup teamviewer to auto-login at start then I added the second card (bricked) and I lost visuals but it still booted (with a blank screen) i then used teamviewer to navigate to the flashing utilty to flash the gpu that was under the name polaris and voila now I have a working gpu ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) p.s. anybody got a good modded bios I could use now? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) kidding not kidding ps its a 480 4gb gaming x with samsung memory. hmu

thank you both for the replies. I'll try these

i was an idiot and used some random persons bios recommendation on my card and now its bricked af. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) I'm not reallly sure where to go from here. is there a way to recover it or something any ideas would be helpful at this point ![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif)

For me go to nvidia 1060 because its have a better hash rate and a lower consumption rate.
How much hashrate can you get from the 1060? My XFX 1060 6gb SSC is capable of 330+ sol/s @ 93% power limit, 79 degrees, 1900 core / 9000 mem (+100/+700), 46% fan speed which is basically silent. I can push more if I increase the temp and power limits and run the fan @ 100% of course eh that would be a good option on a card except I've had HORRIBLE experiences with them in the past
|
|
|
I would suggest a wait for a good price on a 1070
but isn't the 1060 like 90% a 1070?

I wonder how many would be interested in a coin that focuses on CPU-mining? I think that it is possible to clone an existing coin and change it so the GPU and Pool-mining is not profitable. It obviously requires some tests and experiments. But it must be possible.
Exists already, it's called VERIUM https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1540023.1880;topicseenand verium is bad. it takes a long time to mine and the amount you get per block is tiny. Not really worth it from my 1 day experience

Hi I don't use dummy plugs, not on the H81 Pro btc boards, AM1 boards, F2A88X boards, Z170 Boards. both with RX480 and GTX 1060 / 1070 and 1080 (everything on linux, of course ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ) there is a trick to read the EDID from your monitor, save it to a file, and then feed it manually to the X window, so it will not check if the monitor is present or not, which is great when you wanna control fan speeds, overclocking or enter remotely via VNC, because the OS thinks the monitor IS connected if there is interest i can find my notes how to doit, and post it.yas! make it dummy friendly too if you can!

Yes the Z97 anniversary edition supports multi gpu mining. You need to start out your rig with one GPU first , see if it loads up until to windows, if it does try with 2 cards and so on. Usually with this board you will have a few problems with 6 GPU but it should support well 5 GPU-s. If it doesn't give you signal even with 1 GPU then you should have your mainboard troubleshooted. I don't know about ASRock but latest MSI motherboards have already prebuild led lights that tells you what your problem could be.
If you ask me a 6th generation motherboard should work much better for mining than a 4th generation motherboard, so if you have some money left by all means by a Z270 motherboard from MSI, it supports up to 8 GPU-s without problems.
8?? what are you talking about!! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

what cpu's would you all recommend with the 2011v1 board. taking into consideration power draw, mb, core count
|
|
|
thanks for sharing it but aren't the opteron cpu better in price/hasharate
Yea but they are power hungry. But you can buy a new socket G34 4 cpu motherboard for under $80.00 of course you would have to deal with non standard format and non standard power connectivity and every time I thought of it I quickly talked myself out of it. The more standard boards are more expensive to the point its not worth it. It's worth doing if you could get a deal on a decommissioned server for cheap. But you can purchase a dual node dual cpu open compute socket 2011 Wiwynn server new in the box for under $200.00 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wiwynn-SV7210-Two-Node-Open-Compute-Server-Dual-LGA-2011-/391296440423All you need to do is buy 4 cheap E5-2600 V1 cpu's and some cheap ddr 3 ram and a SSD and 240 volt power source, will run Linux and windows 7 just fine. The only reason I have have not bought several is I moving away from socket 2011 and moving to socket 2011-3. EDIT: Every time I look at those open compute servers I am SO tempted........I must not buy.........must not........will power must have will power.....LOL so is this still the best kinda options compared to using ryzen to mine with then?

jstefanop when you going to come out with this thing? I'm curious how much it will even cost.. how much cheaper will it be than making my own system cuz like... I'm waiting to buy this but i'm wanting to just go ahead and build a new system with the standard parts ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

BUMP
Should I choose the electricity option when the electricity is free at night for 11 hours and only mine then or get a flat .07 rate and mine 24/7?
What kind of setup should i be looking at? Should i get 470/480/?? or just wait for vega?
