So glad this is finally over, I've been getting hate mail for years for writing that post about them on 99Bitcoins. Glad that finally the truth is coming out...

Electrum 3.0.6 was just released - it solves this issue
|
|
|
Do you see a transaction in your wallet (History tab) with the amount as 0? If yes, then it is a known bug. New version is not yet released.
Yes I do! So nothing to do but to wait for a release?

I'm trying to access my Electrum wallet (mac) but it's stuck on Sync for the past 30 minutes or so. I've already tried the following:
1. Change the server manually 2. Remove Electrum completely and import a new install from a seed phrase 3. Steps 1 and 2 on a different computer
Any idea what else can be done?

No, balances should be saved indefinitely. In any case I suggest using our contact form and supplying your username so they can look further into this if you think there's an issue.

I appreciate the response, and certainly understand that you are looking for ways to bring it revenue, but not informing the users was a garbage move.
People make mistakes, I admit that it was one as you can see from my response. No need to pour salt on the wound

Hey guys, Ofir here from 99Bitcoins.
I'll be the first to admit that we should have put that notice straight from the start. Thing is that at the time we didn't really know what we were doing and wanted to test some stuff out. In any case, the miner was running for a very short time before we understood the importance of this and put up the notice.
Our faucet is one of the oldest and highest paying faucets around, and with the increasing price of Bitcoin it's getting hard to sustain so we need to get creative with business models from time to time. It's important to say that the miner was running only on the faucet page and on no other page on the site as well.
For now the miner is disabled, we're still testing it from time to time but it will show a very clear notice if it's running.
Glad I caught this thread, let me know if you have any specific questions.

very good topic, can I ask you something about altcoins? I would like to set up a faucet through MultiFaucet with an alternative cryptocoin, if I follow these steps I can create a similar one with the one below: http://evilcoin.xyz/faucet/It depends on which altcoin you want to create a faucet for. Using a Wordpress plugin we've created you can a Bitcoin, Litecoin or Ethereum plugin. The script mentioned in the original post is no longer working. You could use Faucethub's script to create a faucet as well though.

Hi, it's Ofir from 99Bitcoins. I assume you know that we run a very popular Faucet WP plugin that integrates directly with Faucethub and we collect a small commission from our users. I was amazed to find out that the addresses we use for our commissions were frozen for some reason on Faucethub.
99Bitcoins has been a Faucethub partner for as long as it existed and I'm sure we've brought you a very nice amount of business. Please get back to me as soon as possible so we can fix this. I tried contacting through the normal support channel but it doesn't allow me to do so because the account is flagged.
If anyone else is reading this and knows how I can get in touch directly with Faucethub I'd appreciate it.
Regards. Ofir

Finally I got my payout.... Was it worth the wait?

That may be true but in this case you know exactly who's behind the faucet (me). I'll also upload this plugin to Wordpress.org soon so people will know it has been validated by an external factor.

Just updated my original post with this info, thanks. Let me know if there are any updates on this.

Guess it might only need a tip from a competitor then... and it looked to me like adsense was the only working solution for a working faucet that will bring the owner at least a little bit coins. Actually I've been running the faucet for the past month or so with a profit without Adsense. Unfortunately it's like 10% of what I would be making with Adsense...

You should try and include in your post Bitvertise.netWe have high payment rates for pusblishers (way over Mellowads, A-ads, Coinurl, etc) Thanks I'll add them as well as the others. Ofir
