Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB/WTT] Sun4m/Sun4u Hardware
|
on: July 15, 2013, 03:00:03 PM
|
Knowing we're all kinda nerdy here, wondering if anyone has any old Sun hardware they might want to give a new home to.
Looking for 4m/4u age stuff, SPARCStation LX, SPARCStation Classic, SS10/20. Don't want/need a monitor, just a working system, hdd/ram/proc/etc not really important as long as its functional. I'd prefer a "Lunchbox" SPARC Classic or LX, but the "Pizzabox" would work too.
Domestic offers preferred. Willing to pay cost+shipping to Idaho in BTC or LTC or XPM if the price is right.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] ZWD - Hyper Inflationary Crypto Currency
|
on: May 30, 2013, 02:14:20 AM
|
Governor Gono and the RBZ Board of Directors asked me to pass this along: 1 Billion ZWD per block, we are mining now so you should too. One Quadrillion ZWD total. Ok, last one I promise--this is the last coin you'll ever need--I mean holy shit, 1 BILLION per block. Enjoy bitches, its a celebration. In reality, this coin should NOT be taken seriously AT ALL. Its more for hilarity and because we're nearing the end of these crap coins in style!

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / GONE. Hypercoins to Give Away + WANT YOUR OWN COIN??
|
on: May 29, 2013, 02:39:04 PM
|
Anyone want these? Post your HYC addresses and I'll give them away.
If you want your OWN cut/paste 'HyperCoin', and you'd rather not read the tutorial or pay Hazard's bullshit prices, I can make you one too--my price is 5LTC. You get to pick:
* Coin Name * Coin 3 Letter Symbol * Coin RPC/P2P Ports * Number of Coins per Block * Block target time * Logos
I will build you a coin, mine your genesis block, host a seed node for you to start mining against, and compile you Windows-Qt wallets. I do not/will not do any further customizations, and I get to mine the first 10 blocks for checkpoints.
You can choose how you release it, you get full access to the Github and source. You can pump and dump it, mine it by yourself, share it with your friends, whatever. PM for details.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] 'foo' and 'bar' coins--a "how-to" guide for cut+paste cryptocurrency
|
on: May 27, 2013, 04:47:34 PM
|
THIS IS NOT REALLY A NEW COIN TO MINE!!Its actually a tutorial, step by step, with source code provided for two coins: foocoin is empty and ready to be customized; barcoin is the finished product of following the step by step guide found here: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=scrypt_altcoin_cloning_guide&#how_to_clone_scrypt_based_altcoins_for_fun_and_profitand knowing Devtome is a Wiki, here is an unfiltered .pdf version of the guide (will be updated as I add new items): https://mega.co.nz/#!HFlzgCSb!SqWmpBux9BEUZwiX8o0XGGeEY08fPC76LdIIL91pQq0https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B49exKIsGBn5ajhqSjJyVDR6STQ/edit?usp=sharingNow a bit about the project in bullet points: *Its based on Litecoin source, and uses examples found in the SmallChange repository *Its not designed to be a primer on C or C++ programming, its a "change this and make it work" kind of guide *The foocoin sources are customized to be as easy as possible to build on Mac, Linux, and Windows and the guide contains the steps needed to install the software and build each wallet. *It is a tad tongue-in-cheek; the product of about a month's worth of reading and trial and error. *I will not/can not do tech support for this; I've tried to compile as much info as I could and my experiences building GeoCoin and Doubloons in to this guide. NEARLY all of the info came from other amazingly helpful people on this board--the rest is from trial and error, google, and various programming snippet websites. I am willing to have casual discussion about coins and coin creation though! Foocoin Source: https://github.com/foocoin (blank, ready to be customized) Barcoin Source: https://github.com/barcoin (really more for information and comparison) I also took the time to build a pacakge of all the MinGW32 dependencies which can be retrieved via git and placed in c:\deps. The Foocoin source -qt.pro file is customized to look for these dependencies in c:\deps but the guide also shows you how to build them yourself and customize the -qt.pro file. The dependencies are here: Foocoin MinGW32 Dependencies Bundle: https://github.com/foocoin/deps.gitLast but not least, I also included the Windows-Qt addins in another repository so you can bundle them with your newly made coins: Foocoin Windows Qt Addins: https://github.com/foocoin/windows-qt-addins.gitWhew, ok, one last note--I haven't mastered the redistributable Mac-Qt yet, so consider that section a work in progress. Finally, please consider donating a few bits if you find this useful, my BTC and LTC addies are in my signature. This guide took me nearly 30 hours to compile and my wife would be ever so happy if something came of it

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Help Building -QT on OSX/Mac?
|
on: May 21, 2013, 09:04:16 PM
|
ok, I posted this in the Technical Discussion section, but not knowing how much traffic it gets and knowing a few around here are good with this kinda thing I thought I'd repost it here too:
I'm stuck. I've tried a lot of things yet I can simply NOT get past this:
Undefined symbols: "MapPort()", referenced from: OptionsModel::setData(QModelIndex const&, QVariant const&, int)in optionsmodel.o "_fUseUPnP", referenced from: OptionsModel::setData(QModelIndex const&, QVariant const&, int)in optionsmodel.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
When it tries to build. I have tried on multiple VMs with multiple QT and GCC versions, nearly all end up with this error. Here's what I did on the latest build:
Installed OSX 10.6 in VMWare Updated through 10.6.8 and all available software through today Installed XCode 3.2.6 Installed MacPorts $sudo port install boost db48 git-core openssl miniupnpc went in to ~/bitcoin and tried to do: qmake and then make
When it errored out, I tried installing QT Creator just to take the qmake line and tried this one:
$ qmake /Users/adam/bitcoin/bitcoin-qt.pro -r -spec macx-g++ CONFIG+=x86_64 "USE_UPNP=-"
but when I make it errors out the same. I've tried editing the .pro file with /opt/local/ includes for MINIUPNPC and all others. I've also tried building another VM from scratch and doing the SAME thing without ports, using homebrew instead. SAME ISSUES!
Please, I know this has to be something easy I'm missing, anyone anyone help?

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / WTS - 960 PWC + 1.44FRKs for 2LTC
|
on: May 13, 2013, 07:20:51 PM

Less than anyone else, my entire night's bounty (mined 145 blocks, but they were nearly all orphans). 3LTC, PMs are fine, but trades must be done in-thread for both our sakes. Get them now before they something something something. I will not send first unless you have lotsa rep.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / WTS - 1 Franko for 1BTC
|
on: May 12, 2013, 02:56:24 AM

Sure, why not? PMs are welcome, trades must be done in thread. Current going rate I'm seeing/being offered is .25-.3 BTC per .25 FRK. I'll sell a complete FRK for 1BTC. I will not send first unless you have serious rep, but will do chunks of .25, no problem.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / WTS - 100 YAC for 25 PPC
|
on: May 09, 2013, 12:00:55 AM

Looking to sell 100YAC (mined em myself) but the caveat is I want PPC as its the one coin I don't have any of. Any takers? PMs are fine, but all trades gotta be done in this thread--its good for both of us! Will not send first unless you have rep--though this is pence we're talking about.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / WTT - Domain Name "OpenP2Pool.com" BTC/LTC/FRC/etc
|
on: May 05, 2013, 04:12:33 PM
|
After a heavy load week, my VPS connection has proven too high latency for my pool site. I dont want to have dead blocks but the site has had some good traffic so I'd like to offer it to someone who might want to expand on it. Included is the domain name, transfer directly via Register.com and ownership of the IRC channel if you want it. The HTML is very sparse, but if you want that, Is yours too.
No reasonable offer unconsidered, it was an experiment for me just not one I could sustain!
