https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1149472285905940480

"I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air. Unregulated Crypto Assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity....

....Similarly, Facebook Libra’s “virtual currency” will have little standing or dependability. If Facebook and other companies want to become a bank, they must seek a new Banking Charter and become subject to all Banking Regulations, just like other Banks, both National...

...and International. We have only one real currency in the USA, and it is stronger than ever, both dependable and reliable. It is by far the most dominant currency anywhere in the World, and it will always stay that way. It is called the United States Dollar!"

8  Economy / Scam Accusations / Weird emails and pms about a paypal transaction I never made on: June 03, 2019, 09:30:04 PM
About an hour ago I received this pm from ichanger :

I never interacted with the guy before and have no idea who he is.
I checked his post history and apparently he is buying BTC with Paypal. I asked him to explain himself in two of the threads he posted in. I also tagged him waiting for an answer.

Then I reported his pm to the admins and answered him via pm as well.

I later noticed that my two posts addressed to him had been deleted.
https://archive.fo/Gu6uA
https://archive.fo/fwn0b

I checked the mod log, the guy hasn't been banned, at least I don't think so.
I checked my mailbox and there is no notification of those deleted posts.
But in my mailbox, I got notifications for 3 pms sent by getpaidz

I can post a screenshot of those emails if necessary (address is noreply@bitcointalk.org) :

"On June 1, cryptocurrency enthusiasts were shocked to hear that the peer-to-peer exchange Localbitcoins has ceased offering in-person cash trades. ...
This means that people cannot use the platform to meet in person and sell BTC for cash or vice versa"

On va bien voir.

LedgerX Reveals Bid to Beat Bakkt to Physical Bitcoin Futures Launch

https://www.coindesk.com/ledgerx-reveals-bid-to-beat-bakkt-to-physical-bitcoin-futures-launch

"Cryptocurrency derivatives provider LedgerX plans to become the first U.S. firm to offer physically settled bitcoin futures contracts.

The company announced Monday that it has filed for a designated contract market (DCM) license, which would allow LedgerX to offer physically-settled bitcoin futures products to its customers. Unlike the cash-settled bitcoin futures offered by CME Group (and previously, Cboe), customers would receive the actual bitcoin underlying a contract after it expires, rather than the U.S. dollar equivalent.

Once approved, LedgerX will offer bitcoin, bitcoin options and bitcoin futures to retail customers through a new platform, dubbed Omni.

Coinbase And Visa Are Making Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple's XRP And Litecoin Payments A Reality

"Coinbase has teamed up with global payments processor Visa to try to change that, launching the Coinbase Card which allows users to "spend crypto as effortlessly as the money in their bank.
...
The Visa debit card, which has a £4.95 ($6.50) card issuance fee, can be used to spend Coinbase bitcoin, ethereum, Ripple's XRP, and litecoin balances "in millions of locations around the world," by converting the cryptocurrency to fiat when the card is used—the merchant or store gets paid in traditional fiat currency.

Coinbase users can choose which cryptocurrency is used on the card through a new app which supports all crypto assets available to buy and sell on the Coinbase platform. The app also offers instant receipts, transaction summaries, and spending categories, to help people keep track of their spending."

20  Economy / Exchanges / 2-FA is now obligatory on Kraken on: March 27, 2019, 02:54:10 PM
https://www.theblockcrypto.com/tiny/kraken-makes-2fa-obligatory-forms-kraken-security-labs/

"Kraken’s Chief Security Officer Nick Percoco has announced changes to the cryptocurrency exchange’s security features. He promises there are more client-facing security enhancements on the way, all a part of a security features roadmap planned out into 2020. Most new features will require enabling by the client to add additional levels of security.

This is the case with Two Factor Authentication. While the feature has been available since Kraken’s launch, it was previously optional. Now, Two Factor Authentication has been made a requirement by the exchange. There are now two options available to the clients—Google Authenticator and YubiKey.

Percoco also announced the formation of Kraken Security Labs. Percoco writes, “The effort is committed to improving the security of the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem by performing vulnerability research against 3rd party products—like hardware wallets, software wallets, and other related technology—and disclosing identified issues in a way that does not jeopardize the security of the industry or our clients, but rather improve security for our clients and the world once the issues are fixed.”
