241  Other / Meta / Feature request to link sub boards easily on: July 18, 2020, 04:23:00 AM
For example, you write

Code:
#services
, it automatically hyperlinks the board mentioned.

Guess it would be handy, as of right now we have to find/seach and copy link manually.

What you think?
242  Other / Meta / A new board request: Blockchain gaming board. on: June 17, 2020, 04:27:35 AM
I just saw this thread and figured new board for blockchain games would be good addition.

243  Economy / Trading Discussion / How do you cope with missing easy money making opportunity? on: May 20, 2020, 04:33:39 AM
Ok, so yesterday a coin I was holding, pumped.

The project and team sounds legit but since there was no product live, and from several past experiences I figured this rise is gonna be short lived.

It was true. But, I didn't sell (analysis paralysis), lost the opportunity. Feels like shit.

Life feels like a constant roller coaster of replacing one regret with another.
244  Economy / Trading Discussion / Presence of mind while making trades! on: April 25, 2020, 09:50:49 AM
Story is as follows:

I had some token that I received from airdrop. It got pumped few days ago, it was apparently an artificial pump as there was HUGE gap between bids and asks.

Whoever pumped this used to buy some orders from asks field, daily.

I figured, he was doing this 'daily' few days later.

So I finally decided to place order. Hoping for the best.

To my sheer stupidity, I directly placed the order without realizing that it's market order as default. My order got executed immediately.

Next day when I check the recent trades, that artificial pump is still going.

I was like fuck, fool and his money are soon parted.
245  Local / India / First impressions of Colodax exchange on: April 11, 2020, 07:54:16 AM
Ok, so I just tried colodax exchange, and here are my first impressions.

Since they have android app, I installed it.

You need to sign up with email and password first and then need to complete kyc and bank verification before you can trade.

Pan card front, aadhar card front and back photos are required.

For bank verification — account number, ifsc code and account statement are required.

Kyc was verified instaneously.

I deposited some ether, it was successfully deposited in a minute or two.

I sold the deposited ether and withdrew the rupee, received the amount in my bank account within 5 minutes.

The experience has been top notch so far!

250  Local / India / [Video] SC Judgement analysis on: March 06, 2020, 03:28:01 PM
We all are rejoicing on crypto verdict but it is not as it appears to be, the one thing alarming is verdict covers the crypto businesses while if you are an individual trading in cryptocurrency you can't show them SC's verdict, and banks can still freeze your account.

251  Economy / Scam Accusations / [Scam Awareness] Do not use online sites to create your "paper wallets" on: February 16, 2020, 07:16:49 AM
I just a saw a tweet from an Indian journalist where he had created a paper wallet on an online website, and when he checked recently his funds were wiped out.

You can check the thread here: https://mobile.twitter.com/ThatNaimish/status/1228738864442830849

Having 'padlock' icon on website doesn't mean it's not scam.

252  Other / Meta / Suggestion For Reporting and Deletion Of Posts on: December 02, 2019, 03:30:00 AM
Sometimes, I get my posts deleted and more often than not, reason is not clear.

Proposed solution:

We receive PM whenever our post gets deleted right, so how about that message also contain reason for it's deletion?

I understand this could get difficult for mods, so may be just cross link the 'report reason' under it? Without name of user who reported it of course.

253  Local / Off-Topic (India) / [Indian Edition] How did you come up with your username? on: November 24, 2019, 07:19:14 AM
Some users here have unique names and I am curious to know reasons behind them.

I will start with mine, because you got to be the change you want to see in the world.

GTA 3 Liberty city was the first video game I played on PC. I was registering for Indian forum (ethicalhavoc to be precise), it asked me to setup username, my enlightened brain removed 'y' and choose username as 'libert', because liberty sounds like female name and I am male.

...and it has been my online alias ever since.

Then how come it's libert19? You might wonder.

I had account named 'libert' here but it got hacked in infamous bitcointalk hack and since it didn't have much activity I didn't bother to recover it and created new one. As I read some numerology, it said 1 and 9 numbers are good for me. So I settled with 'libert19'.

So what's story behind your username?
254  Local / India / Crypto Ban Draft Bill Excluded From Upcoming Parliament Session on: November 15, 2019, 01:20:04 PM
This link shows matters to be heard in next Parliament session  which is commencing on November 18: http://loksabhadocs.nic.in/bull2mk/2019/14.11.2019.pdf

Crypto ban draft bill has been excluded from it.

I feared supreme court would keep delaying the case and ban  bill would be passed directly. Thankfully, it won't be the case (at least for a while).

I can't wait to see how this 'thriller movie' folds out.

ps: next sc hearing is on November 19.

255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Recovering XRC (Bitcoin rhodium) Using Magnum wallet! on: September 28, 2019, 05:23:13 AM
Did you take part in XRC (Bitcoin rhodium) airdrop, but unable to see your coins in web wallet/electrum despite having all info?

Then this quick guide might help you.

Prerequisites:

— Magnum wallet Web | Android

— Mnemonic phrase and two passwords (actually you need one, but you might not know which one is correct)

Note: This screenshots are from magnum android wallet.

1. Open magnum wallet, and click 'Import Mnemonic'.

2. On next screen, paste your 'Mnemonic phrase' in respective field and click on 'Settings' like icon. A new field will appear, paste your password there. Try both passwords you have if you are unsure. And click on 'Import wallet'.

3. On next screen, it will ask you to setup password to protect your magnum wallet, set it.

4. App will scan available blockchains and it will show if it finds any balances. Click on 'Import wallets'.

5. Click on 'Menu' button at left sidebar and select 'wallets'.

6. Select 'Bitcoin rhodium' from the list, and done.

ps: I am not quite sure where does this thread really belong, so feel free to let me know which board is correct. Thanks!

I expected that such thread would be already existing but as it doesn't I got to start the ritual.

I will start with mine, because you got to be the change you want to see in the world.

258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I can't decide title, but this is something about Ethereum! on: August 24, 2019, 03:58:29 AM
This is shorter and (bit) updated version of my Using Ethereum guide that I posted a while back on my steem account for MEW competition.

1) Difference between Ethereum and Ether

Ethereum is network/platform where Dapps run, when Ether is fuel that powers the network. Ether is how people pay for things in the ethereum network. For example, you need Ether to pay fees.

When somebody says that he has invested in ethereum, he has actually bought ether.

2) Transaction Fees on Ethereum

On ethereum platform transaction fees are calculated on two measures. Gas Price and Gas Limit.

Gas limit means the highest amount of gas you are willing to spend on transaction. Ether transactions require gas limit of 21,000 and Token transactions require 200,000.

Transaction Fees = Gas price*Gas limit

For example, if you chose 4 gwei Gas Price and 200,000 Gas Limit then your max transaction cost would be:

200000*4=800000 Gwei

Converting to ether: https://converter.murkin.me — That would be 0.0008 Eth.

How much gas price should you choose? Check: https://ethgasstation.info/

If you get 'Out of gas' error, you need to increase the gas limit.

3) Trading Ethereum Based Tokens on Forkdelta

You can trade all Ethereum based tokens whether they are officially listed or not by using token's contract address.

Get the contract address of token: https://etherscan.io/tokens

Change 'DAI' to token contract address and hit go: https://forkdelta.app/#!/trade/DAI-ETH

4) Tracking Balances using deltabalances

Enter your address, and be amazed! - https://deltabalances.github.io

5) Withdrawing from forkdelta when it's offline

Smart contracts reside on Blockchain and there is no way they can be taken down. Forkdelta/etherdelta works on smart contract so even if of they go offline you can withdraw your funds.

259  Other / Meta / Does this post deserve 10 merit? on: August 10, 2019, 08:34:44 AM
Whether a post deserves merit or not, it's in the eyes of beholder.

But then I see this,

10 merits?
Single line post?
No substance?

ps: I don't have anything against, the poster guy or the merit giving guy. I just felt like sharing it.

So... What you think?
260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Just another gambling strategy! on: March 31, 2019, 02:43:11 AM
it's basically martingale with a twist.

Go to a dice site where it allows you under/over rolls. Start with any side, reset on win, multiply by 2 on loss and after 5 consecutive losses you change the side.

Most of time it works and you get good profit but it is not full proof.

Try it and let me know your experience!

ps: gamble with funds you can afford to lose!
