6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] First online NXT Wallet on: February 20, 2014, 07:46:33 PM
Announcing the first online NXT Wallet

https://wallet.mynxt.info

Features:

- Easy to use
- Access your NXT from anywhere
- Responsive layout: works in PC/Mac, Tablets and Phones
- Send/Receive NXT
- See your balance in NXT, USD and BTC

Is it safe?

We made it as secure as possible, keeping in mind that as we all know nothing in the online world can be claimed to be 100% secure.

If you want the details: All accounts are 50 random generated characters long, we use AES256 to encrypt each account address twice (once using a site-wide key and once using your master password). We also only accept SSL connections and hash all passwords (salted).

There have been discussions on the main NXT Bitcointalk thread around possibly making it even safer by doing the encryption/decryption of the account on the client side (as opposed to the server side) and we are looking into this.

Launch Promo

To make things more exciting, as a launch promotion we are giving away NXT in the following way:

  • The first 100 people to create an account at https://wallet.mynxt.info and post their NXT account ID (from the mynxt.info wallet) here in this thread will get 10 NXT.
  • In addition, ONE of these 100 people will get a grand prize of 1000 NXT. The winner of the grand prize will be determined by the last 2 digits of the NXT Block ID of height 75000 (you can check the latest blocks here: http://www.mynxt.info/blockexplorer/)
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Nxt web service providers - progress tracking thread on: January 12, 2014, 06:50:20 PM
Web service providers are web applications that interact with the NXT network and process its data somehow to provide value to visitors and to the NXT network itself. It could be blockchain explorer, online wallets and any other online service that don't fit the other categories (i.e. not a full feature client and not a mobile app).

We are not going to include exchanges, gambling apps, faucets, wikis and news sites, as these arguably fit other categories better (or perhaps deserve their own category).

8  Economy / Services / Bitcoin Christmas e-card as a gift on: December 22, 2013, 04:56:43 PM
Send Bitcoin to your friends and family this Christmas (they will thank you later)!  Wink

http://www.bitforyou.com

BitForYou.com allows you to send Bitcoins with a nice Christmas e-card. So it's not just about the money, it's about the card and the words you write them.

A couple of card examples:

How does it work?

It's really simple: You choose a card, enter your e-mail and the recipient's e-mail addresses, a custom message and click PREVIEW.

In the Preview screen, you can see how your card will look like, and if you are happy with it, just send the Bitcoins to fund your card to the address shown at the bottom. As soon as we receive the Bitcoin, your card is sent (we wait for just 1 confirmation).

Once the recipient receives the card, they can withdraw their Bitcoins to any address. They also receive instructions on how to create a wallet in Blockchain.info in case they don't have a wallet yet (and a short video explaining what are Bitcoins).

In case your recipient doesn't withdraw their coins in 15 days, you get your coins back (we send it back to the address where they came from).

How much can I send?

You can send between 0.01 BTC and 1.0 BTC. We feel that this range offers opportunities for every pocket size to send nice gifts.

Are there any fees?

Yes, there's a 2% fee on every card sent. This is used to pay the miners fee and fees associated with using Blockchain.info's shared send service.

Is it secure?

Yes, we don't store any private keys and only hold a very small amount of BTC in hot storage.

-----------------------------------

Christmas gift: I will send an e-card with BTC 0.01 to the first 3 people that send a Bitforyou e-card with any amount.

To get your BTC, just send the e-card and post your Bitcoin transaction ID here (used to fund your card).
9  Economy / Service Announcements / [ANN] BitForYou.com (BETA) - Xmas e-cards loaded with Bitcoins on: October 07, 2013, 06:56:05 PM
Update 16/Dec:

We have now a nice collection of Christmas e-cards!

You still have a chance to send your friends and family a special and unique gift this christmas! All you need is their e-mail address.

To send your christmas e-card, go to www.bitforyou.com, select the card you like, fill the small form on the right-hand side and press PREVIEW. Once in the preview screen, send Bitcoins to the address displayed and your e-card will be on its way.

You can send from BTC 0.01 to BTC 1.00 to anyone with an email address. The recipient doesn't need to be a current Bitcoin user and doesn't need to have a wallet!

---------

Like many people involved with Bitcoin, I believe that its success depends on adoption. The more people that use it, the stronger and more valuable it will become.

So after having mined and invested for a while now, I wanted to distribute some coins to my family and friends as a gift. The problem is that they know nothing about Bitcoin, and so I didn't want to simply send an SMS or a random e-mail with coins. I wanted to send something a little more personal, and at the same time very easy to use and understand, where the coins would just be the icing on the cake.

BitForYou.com - What is it.

BitForYou.com is an e-card website where you have to send Bitcoins with every card. I had developed this e-card system a few years ago as part of another project, so I decided to revive and make it more exciting by adding a connection to Bitcoin.

How does it work?

You select one of the various images, type your e-mail, the recipient's e-mail, selects how many coins to send, optionally types a message and that's all.

The recipient will receive an e-mail with a link to see their e-card with a brief explanation of what Bitcoin is, a link to create a virtual wallet a field to withdraw their coins.

You will get e-mail messages when the recipient views the card and when the coins are withdrawn. If they don't see the card or withdraw the coins in 15 days, the coins are sent back to you.

---

I am looking for feedback, so would appreciate if you could test it out and let me know what you think. The minimum amount to send is 0.01 BTC and the maximum is 1 BTC.
