I have 8 Nvidia 1060 GPUs connected to 1 Windows 10 PC (Celeron G3900, 4GB RAM, 40 GB swap on SSD).
To find out max. overclocking settings for each card, I currently prefer to run a separate instance of ethminer.exe for every GPU itself. So I can see exactly which GPU failed and not the whole system stops after a failure:

ethminer.exe --cuda-devices 7 ...

So this starts 8 windows on my PC.
Do you think, that I should use that way of running ethminer only for testing? Are there any disadvantages if I start like this? Is the system or even mining slowing down cause of this?
Or can I leave it like that?

I know that I can find out stable OC settings by hand for each GPU by lowering the Memory Clock (Ethereum) after each crash.
But it would be much more comfortable, if a script could doe that automatically.

Like this:
Start with highest settings. After each crash, lower the settings. After 2 weeks without a crash report the max speed.

What do you think about it?
Is there anything like this already available?

today all my 3 GB GPUs (Nvidia 1060) stopped working with ethminer.

Then I found a solution to be able to still use that 3 GB GPUs to mine Ethereum:

• Remove all GPU drivers with DDU
• Install Nvidia drivers 376.33
• Use Claymore miner instead of ethminer
• add that two parameters for Claymore: -lidag 1 -eres 0

Then it's working again.
I know that it won't be for really long time. How long do you think?

And is there also a solution to get them working again in ETHMINER?

Kommt mir nämlich extrem günstig vor.

könnt ihr bestimmte Seiten wie Bitpanda empfehlen, wo man quasi instant EURO in Bitcoin tauschen kann, aber einen besseren Preis bekommt als bei Bitpanda.
Bitpanda ist halt schon toll von der Bedienbarkeit und vor allem der Schnelligkeit, aber der Kurs ist dort leider extrem überteuert. Vermutlich lassen die sich ihr Konzept halt einfach gut bezahlen. Gibt‘s gute Alternativen, wo man die Bitcoins ebenfalls sofort bekommt bei Bezahlung mit Giropay/EPS/Kreditkarte/Sofortüberweisung/Skrill usw.?
Oder ist das bei Bitpanda einzigartig und deshalb die extremen Gebühren?

ich habe ein paar beunruhigende Dinge über BITFINEX gehört in dem Zusammenhang mit dem USDT Hack. Es könnte sein, dass die sogar zusperren!?
Hab dort noch etliche IOTA liegen. Denkt ihr, dass die dort wirklich aktuell sehr unsicher sind und vielleicht wirklich bald was mit Bitfinex passiert?

ist das die korrekte Vorgehensweise um seine BTC während und nach des BTG Forks abzusichern und trotzdem BTG zu erhalten und diese verkaufen zu können?

1. BTC auf eine Wallet legen, wo man den Private Key hat.
2. Warten bis Fork + Airdrop durch sind.
3. BTC auf eine andere Wallet verschieben, wo man ebenfalls den Private Key hat.
4. BTG an eine Börse senden, wo man diese verkaufen kann.

Wenn man sich an diese Schritte hält, ist man dann auf der sicheren Seite?
Ist Schritt 3 notwendig und empfohlen?
Oder empfehlt ihr eine andere Vorgangsweise um vor Replay-Attacken usw. sicher zu sein?

are this the correct steps, to keep my BTC the whole time during and after the fork secure and also get the free BTG?

1. Keep BTC in a wallet where I have the private key.
2. Waint until fork + airdrop of BTG is done.
3. Move BTC to a new wallet, where I control the private key.
4. Move BTG to an exchange and sell it.

If one makes this step by step, will one then be secure against replay atacks and so on?
Is step 3 necessary and recommended?
Or do you prefer an other way to be secure and also get BTG and be able to sell it?

ich habe aktuell eine BTC Adresse, welche mit 1 beginnt (erstellt über bitaddress.org).
Diese Adresse habe ich als "View Only" Adresse auf Blockchain.info importiert. Also jedes mal, wenn ich Geld verschicken will, muss ich dort meinen Private Key eingeben.
Jetzt habe ich gelesen, dass SegWit Adressen aber mit 3 beginnen. Stimmt das so?
Muss ich mir jetzt auch eine Adresse beginnend mit 3 erstellen um von den niedrigeren Gebühren zu profitieren? Wenn ich eine neue Adresse auf bitadress.org erstelle, beginnt diese aber auch wieder mit 1.
Oder gelten die niedrigeren Gebühren sowieso schon für jeden, egal wie seine Adresse aussieht?

can one confirm if Afterburner 4.3.0, ethminer and Claymore are using really the same GPU index?

So for example GPU3 is the same card in every program?

Is there a differnece between Nvidia and AMD? Cause in Claymore changelog of version 10 I did read, that the GPU Index for Nvidia is now the same as Afterburner!? I thought that was already all the time before like this!?

What‘s about ethminer and Afterburner? Are both using the same numbering? Is it the same since the beginning or only since a specific ethminer version?

in my 4 Rigs I am using 8 x NVIDIA 1060 (from different manufacturers) at each rig and overclocked every GPU a little bit using MSI Afterburner (Power Limit 65%, Temp Limit 75, Core Clock +80, Memory +750). I am getting around 24 MH/s at each card when mining ETH.

The problem is, that after some hours or days only GPUs 2, 3 and 7 (GPU range is 0 - 7) are slowing down to around 10 MH/s or even less. First I thought, that I overclocked exactly that cards too much! But then I recognized, that on all 4 Rigs it is the same behavior: Only GPUs 2, 3 and 7 are slowing down from time to time. I thought I could solve this by disabling or lowering OC settings for exactly that cards. But that does not help. The problem appears again after some time.
So I think, that any other card(s) is/are overclocked too much and slows down exactly GPU 2, 3 and 7. But why exactly always that cards? And how can I find out which cards are the problem to lower their OC setting?

Does anyone have a solution for this or maybe the same behavior? Why is this always 2, 3 and 7??

Does it make sense to keep the NVIDIA drivers always up-to-date for mining or is there one specific version, which brings best performance and stability for mining?
