Hello,

I am mining ETH using 4 Rigs (each 8 x NVIDIA 1060) in Windows 10 (v1703).

Does it make sense to keep the NVIDIA drivers always up-to-date for mining or is there one specific version, which brings best performance and stability for mining?

Thanks for you suggestions.

If you want stability, switch to linux

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

I'm using CUDA drivers, I had some beta CUDA 9 drivers for developers and they released them for public recently so I switch all cards to the newest one. Also if miner using CUDA 9 like ccminer you should have drivers which have CUDA 9 too or it won't work. You don't need to update it every week or even month, only if something better for mining is in there, like the new CUDA 9.

I wouldnt update your drivers if your systems are stable.. save yourself the headache of potential issues

Miners need to run 24/7 for maximum efficiency. Unless the driver is to improve stability or improve performance (hash-rate) you will be cutting in to your profits trying to keep up with the frequent driver releases.

You should already know if your system is unstable and usually mining software will indicate the best version of Graphics driver to use for optimum performance. Other than that leave your miners alone so they can perform their work at hand.

Unless the driver is to improve stability or improve performance (hash-rate)
Theoretically a good answer, but how should I know if the new driver version will improve stabilizy / performance??
Or how should I know which is currently the best driver version for 1060 for mining?

I use ethminer, cause it can get the best performance (MH/s) out of my 1060 GPUs. Which drivers would you suggest?
Or do you know any other miner, which can get more performance than ethminer?

I would research benchmark hashrates for the GPU you're using and compare it against others, if you seem like you're lacking then I would research and figure out why, to include drivers, otherwise if you're on par with everyone else it's safe to assume you're using the most optimal ones.

I concur with some of the previous posters, with some exceptions.

If you're using a very new card, you should consider leaning towards updating your drivers, since most drivers for brand-new hardware are not optimized well at the time of the release.

Otherwise, only update drivers when you need to, or when you see several reputable reports of increased mining performance with new drivers.

Most driver updates don't affect hashrates and unconfirmed new version drivers may cause instability to mining rigs.
I don't recommend not update drivers if your mining rigs were stabilized.
