The cat and mouse game with the thread bumper continues now with the fake conversations. After the bump-and-deleted situation, the multiple newbie alts spam, they always find anoter way to keep polluting the forum and get paid for it. Here is the last example in the Services Ann section. ★ Coinsbit.io - Cryptocurrency ExchangeI have more than 300 good reports solely for the past 3 days from this thread. 3-4 Full-Sr. Members are talking about the weather, new news and all other things than the exchange itself. Even if I get the posts deleted after a few hours, they have already bumped the thread. How can we fight them now?? Please add some kind of temporary ban for those accounts. Like ban then from posting in that section for a two weeks or something. It's just ridiculous how they go around with it.

I was whitelisted while ago but after I rank up to Full Member I got somehow removed from the whitelist. I keep running into the 4 seconds reporting errors and I have around 100 posts to report today. It's much easier when I open all the spam posts in a new tab and just paste the reporting info and send it,which takes about a 1-2 seconds. Thank you

As the subject line says, from 2019-08-09 there is a new version, 0.18.1 of Bitcoin Core. You can update the torrent link as well. There are some minor changes but it's always good to have the last version. Cheers I'll lock this topic to avoid spam

Now there is a discussion on who the names of the guys who merit a post are sorted. Hope you can reveal the mystery. Why is the creation date of the bitcointalk account an important factor? I don't think it's important, it's probably an arbitrary choice. Trust settings uses the same order. From a programmer's perspective it makes sense to just sort the (user) numbers. So if your account is older than mine but we send the same amount of merits for the same post, your name would appear before before mine every time? Correct By "oldest account first", LoyceV tried to mean the account which merited the post first followed by the subsequent accounts meriting the same amount of merits. No, that's not what I meant. It's also not how it's sorted. I guess then your facts are wrong atleast for this post - Jammu & Kashmir Special Status (Article 370) Ends!! As you can see, both nutildah and Totscha have given 2 merits each to the post. nutildah is a legendary member and registered on April 19, 2014. He merited the said post on Aug 7, 2019 07:07:08 AM Totscha is a hero member but registered on Sep 12, 2013. He merited the said post on Aug 7, 2019 07:10:40 AM Of the two, Totscha's account is the oldest. If its sorted by oldest first, Totscha's name should be shown before nutildah. But thats not the case here. So I think it's sorted based on the time of giving merit. Edit: not sure how it's sorted, maybe DdmrDdmr will update here

I just request a small change from which everyone can benefit from. There are some threads/posts where many people sent 1 merit and the list of those users become big. Sometimes it's difficult to find if you have given merit already to the thread/post and then you start searching for your username. I'm sure everyone has been trough this. Sometimes you think you have given merit to a great post before but you are not. What I suggest it you name to stand out in those list somehow. If it can be bold, colored or whatever is the easiest way but I think this should be implemented. here some examples where the implementation can be useful > Let me know what you think.

I need a list with all the users I've sent the last needed merit to rank up. Let's see who's gonna come first with the solution.
I suppose I helped around 15-20 people to rank up till now but maybe I'm wrong, let's see.

Following this thread you can see people wondering how the situation with the spam reporting is going. You haven't post any stats for more than a year now and it will be cool for many to see how is the "competition". We already put the stick in the wheel of the spammers, and it was good, now we deserve some overview of what we did, right? The report badges was a really good prank you pulled at the right time we hope to see that it wasn't a prank but.. I know it takes time Let it be anonymous, just give us the numbers of those between 1 and 300 reports, those with reports from 300 to 1000, from 1000 to 2000, 2k to 3k, 3k to 5k and above 5k, or something like this. P.S. Still on vacation so i'm taking a beer for all of you out there working and reporting

What happen to the local section?? Does anyone get the same size of text like this? I'm on vacation so I use only my phone, can't test it elsewhere. Refreshed a few times, closed the browser, etc. Same thing.

|
|
What we have to do when an account get compromised?? Shall we only tag it or create a flag? If we create a flag want type of flag is suitable??
Maybe we need a new flag only for hacked/lost accounts?? Thoughts?

Probably everyone have seen such threads but people don't talk about it. Mostly they are created by new fresh accounts with only 2-3 posts, sometimes with 9-10 posts. This apply for all the sections, except the technical boards.
The thread's subject is mostly some general question or observation which leaves room for random discussions... and of course at the end they become, guess what... Megathreads with 100s to 1000s of comments
And guess what... The OP never comes back to lock it... Why? There is a simple answer.
The OP is an alt account of one of the first 10 poster in the thread. The only idea is to create as many comments as possible to reach their sig. campaign required posts and this is the perfect technique, making HQ spam.
So, what can we do?
P.S. I'll come with examples when I get back to my PC.

After the successful removal of a fake wallet from Android store (Google Play) (see the link below for reference) I think it's time to get together and report all those fake/scam apps from all the mobile stores. To make an impact and really get the apps removed, there should be quite many reports, that's why I think it's a good idea go have a place/thread where you can follow and if there is a case of a fake app, you can easily report it. Warning: Fake BTC core BTC wallet in Google Play

The access to the forum is very slow today, when using Tor. On the mobile there are no issues. Can anyone confirm the problem, I have a good fiber connection.

I've been wondering lately if there is any other exchange where you can withdraw to Paypal besides Coinbase. I have already registration in binance, livecoin and cryptopia (which is dead now).

There are so many threats out there that are not only in the crypto world, but can be used to steal your coins, so lets put all the warning posts here (and keep the forum tidy). I'll try to keep the OP updated regularly.

Added> 26.06.19"New Mac Malware Exploits GateKeeper Bypass Bug that Apple Left Unpatched" macOS Gatekeeper Bypass Vulnerability
GateKeeper is a security feature built into Apple macOS that enforces code signing and verifies downloaded applications before allowing them to run, helping users protect their systems from malware and other malicious software.
That means, if you download an application from the Internet, GateKeeper will only allow it to execute without any warnings if it has been signed with a valid Apple-issued certificate, otherwise will prompt you to allow or deny the execution. However, Gatekeeper has been designed to treat both external drives (USB or HDD) and network shares as "safe locations" from where users can run any application without involving GateKeeper's checks and prompts. Until Apple patches this issue, researcher advised network administrators to block NFS communications with external IP addresses, and for home users, it is always important to not open email attachments from an unknown, suspicious, or untrustworthy source. Source.Added> 27.06.19" Legit Apps Turned into Spyware' Targeting Android Users in Middle East" Cybersecurity researchers are warning about an ongoing Android malware campaign that has been active since 2016 and was first publicly reported in August 2018. Dubbed "ViceLeaker" by researchers at Kaspersky, the campaign has recently been found targeting Israeli citizens and some other middle eastern countries with a powerful surveillance malware designed to steal almost all accessible information, including call recordings, text messages, photos, videos, and location data—all without users' knowledge. According to the researchers, the ViceLeaker attack campaign is still ongoing, and attackers could potentially distribute malicious repackaged versions of legitimate apps through third-party app stores, instant messengers, or attacker-controlled online webpages. Since such apps masquerade as legitimate or popular apps, Android users are highly recommended to always download apps from trusted sources, like Google Play Store, to prevent themselves from becoming a victim to this attack. However, you should also not trust every app available on the Play Store. So, always stick to only verified developers to avoid installing malicious apps.

Warning to all DELL users. Dell's SupportAssist utility that comes pre-installed on millions of Dell laptops and PCs contains a security vulnerability that could allow malicious software or rogue logged-in users to escalate their privileges to administrator-level and access sensitive information. With this high-level privileges, the utility interacts with the Dell Support website and automatically detects Service Tag or Express Service Code of your Dell product, scans the existing device drivers and installs missing or available driver updates, along with performing hardware diagnostic tests. However, researchers at SafeBreach Labs discovered that the software insecurely loads .dll files from user-controlled folders when run, leaving a spot for malware and rogue logged-in users to corrupt existing DLLs or replace them with malicious ones. In other words if you have Dell laptop, don't use the Dell System Detect and update as soon as possible Dell Business and home PC users are recommended to update their software to Dell SupportAssist for Business PCs version 2.0.1 and Dell SupportAssist for Home PCs version 3.2.2 respectively. Link for the update > https://www.dell.com/support/article/no/no/nodhs1/sln317291/dsa-2019-084-dell-supportassist-for-business-pcs-and-dell-supportassist-for-home-pcs-security-update-for-pc-doctor-vulnerability?lang=enThe source. And another vulnerability found, no one is save. I know many people use it that's why I post it here. Keep your coins save. Read below. If you use VLC media player on your computer and haven't updated it recently, don't you even dare to play any untrusted, randomly downloaded video file on it. Doing so could allow hackers to remotely take full control over your computer system. That's because VLC media player software versions prior to 3.0.7 contain two high-risk security vulnerabilities, besides many other medium- and low-severity security flaws, that could potentially lead to arbitrary code execution attacks. I can't find any history, logs or way to check which flags I supported/opposed. There is no way to remember all the flagged users.

As the subject says, is there any mobile wallet supporting this? I tried Electurm, Sentinel, and some others I don't remember but without success.

I think we can use one common thread (this one) for all the locked and self-mod threads or those don't have a thread but just a post. Just posts the name of the user you want to flag and a link to the archived thread/post. This should do the job. I'll update the OP with the name and the link, and try to have list then in alfabetic order. Here is the format iasenko - archived here
