261  Other / Meta / Cool down time for reporting posts to be reduced. on: March 18, 2018, 09:46:19 AM
Hello guys and girls,

I have following suggestion> The waiting time between reporting posts to be slightly reduced.
Maybe can be based on Merit instead of Rank.
Now a member has to wait 11 seconds between reporting two posts.

And if I want to report something like this, I have to waste half a minute >
262  Other / Meta / The ICO pumpers problem. on: March 15, 2018, 10:05:14 AM
After some time researching the ico pumpers and reporting quite some profiles already, I see a new strategy in this profitable business.
Creating new account only for one bump. This generates thousands of new accounts per day only for to bump one thread one time.
Here are some examples>

https://archive.fo/tXK6Y#selection-2859.0-2859.11

Profiles with only one post which is a quote of the Ann post.

Thanks to Vod, now I can search more efficient for ICO abusers:
See here >
http://dev.martinlawrence.ca/bpip/search.aspx?q=hoanglong
http://dev.martinlawrence.ca/bpip/search.aspx?q=haidang

Note. Some accounts show that they have 0 post count but this is because the last profile database update on the bpip was done before the account had any activity.

This is just a brief example of the current situation. If I go deeper I guess I'll find more and more abusers.

I hope the admins can find a solution also to this problem, like restricting brand new accounts to post on the Ann section or having at 15 activity in order to post there, and make it more difficult for those shitposters.

263  Other / Meta / Any indicators to show that someone is banned? on: March 14, 2018, 03:00:50 PM
Hello folks,

Is there a way to check if someone is banned? I'm reporting some ICO pumpers but I don't know if they are already banned.
Don't want to waste time on already reported accounts.
TY.
264  Other / Beginners & Help / [CLOSED]One (1) Merit point to Rank-up Service,READ THE RULES BEFORE YOU APPLY! on: March 12, 2018, 08:19:39 AM
I'm closing this service as it is not needed anymore.
After almost half a year of service, I'm now closing this thread as now there is already a list of all the people needing 1 merit to rank-up.
Big thanks to all the participants, it was a pleasure for me to help your way up.Big thanks to all the sponsors, the remain merit will be used on purpose Smiley
I may reopen this service again if it is needed.

Do you need 1 Merit point to rank up? Yes? Then this service is for you.

I keep the right to change the rules as I desire

sMerit and Sponsors :

I know how difficult is to get your last point to rank up. I already turned a few Jr.Members to Members.
I have a short amount of sMerit and when I run out of it, I will lock the topic until I get some more.

Current sMerit for this service : 17 + 6
Given Merit : 8 + 2

I thank the sponsors for their support and generosity:
Active sponsors, will give merit to your posts :
2 additional sMerit sponsored by > LogitechMouse
5 4 additional sMerit sponsored by > Thirdspace
Passive sponsors, gave merit to my thread and I will distribute them:
5 sMerit sponsored by > yahoo62278
5 sMerit sponsored by > BitSat
2,5 sMerit sponsored by > V1saya
2,5 sMerit sponsored by > 0t3p0t
2,5 sMerit sponsored by > suchmoon
1 sMerit sponsored by > Script3d
1 sMerit sponsored by > Cyrus
1 sMerit sponsored by > hugeblack
1 sMerit sponsored by > BQ
1 sMerit sponsored by > DdmrDdmr
0.5 sMerit sponsored by > Delphinus
0.5 sMerit sponsored by > snowblack
0.5 sMerit sponsored by > cerebro415

Rules :

Here I will provide a simple service with simple rules to those who fulfill ALL the requirements below :

  • Are missing only 1 merit point to rank up (see the table below)
  • Have at least two already merited posts
  • Are not breaking the Forum Rules*
Check the merit you need to have based on your rank in order to apply for this service.

265  Other / Meta / What do we do with users like this one? on: March 06, 2018, 08:39:05 AM
Greetings fellas.
Here is an example of account of Full Member with 507 posts and 0 value at all, no questions asked/except the ones regarding the campaigns/ no contribution at all.
Bumping old and closed campaigns and generating activity by quoting his reports and nothing else.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1018434

I understand that 99% of the newbies accounts, registered now are only for the bounties, but is there any penalty for such activity?
Participating in sig campaigns is OK but generating posts by quoting or answering a threads without even read the OP or the comments it's just too much.
What to do with such users report them or just let them be?

266  Other / Meta / Suggestion for new "Report to mods button" in the Show Posts list? on: February 23, 2018, 06:35:42 PM
I've been reporting rule-breakers for quite some time now and I think one small thing is missing to make our life a bit easier.

The problem>
When you open a shitposter like this one > example
(maybe this example is not so exact, but you gonna get the idea at least)

And you want to report some of his posts (in the example I've listed the whole profile here), then you have to open every single post and go back again*.

*Also it would be nice if after the report is sent we are redirected back to last place we were. Now after every report you are redirected to the main section and you have to click "back" in order to get back where you were.

The solution >

Adding a button that reports the post directly from the post list.

wait for it...

268  Other / Meta / Someone is selling 1000+ sMerit points in the Marketplace > Services! Updated on: February 20, 2018, 01:47:53 PM
I said that I'm not gonna make another thread on the merit topic but this is an exception.
This is what we are trying to avoid.
So here is my report>

I have some accounts which has a combined source of 1000+ sMerit. I want to offer them against good posts on BitcoinTalk. If you are interested in reviewing your posts, PM me the links to those. As reviewing takes time, I may charge a small amount in BTC/BCH/ETH/ETC. Please note that, only good and substantial posts will earn merit and no bulk merit transfer will take place. Feel free to ask any question that you may have...

269  Other / Meta / [List] Rule-Breakers. (Homographs attacks included) DTs/Mods attention needed. on: February 19, 2018, 09:18:00 AM
This thread is created after a suggestion of the global mod mprep.
~sinp~
I report mostly posts, can I report profiles if I see something suspicious and how? It would be helpful if we get a "report Profile" button, it may reduce the account farming.
Not really. Starting a thread in Meta or PMing one of the global mods and / or admins is the only way to report a user rather than his post or PM AFAIK.

Here is my list of the profiles I found braking the forum rules more than once.
I will list them in the following format:

Profile ID, the reason I listed them here and proof as a imgur/archive.fo link.
I'll report every 10 cases to the modes.

270  Other / Meta / Suggestion to stop all the same questions about merit. on: February 08, 2018, 08:48:05 AM
Here is my proposal:
Theymos or the Mods to send one informative message to all the users here in the forum with just a simple explanation or a link to the new rules.
What are the positive sides of this action:
-The information will be available to everyone no matter when you gonna log in again, tomorrow or in two years.
-When you receive a PM you also receive an email about it, so it's almost no way to miss this one out.
-The people will reduce the posts like "What is merit", "How can I get merit", " Why I got neg. trust for giving merit" and so on..
-This will reduce the spam and the time for adopting the new system.
-We can concentrate to more important topics and hunting merit in a Meta section will be reduced.
-The higher ranked members will be informed and can distribute their sMerit. /update/

Please point out the bad sides as I see none.

I think 90% of the users aware of the system are trying to hunt it in some way even that they don't what to confess it. It is a competition now. I hope this will change by the time, we'll see. I know many of you will accuse me in the same thing, that I'm after the merit. Yes, I am but not so desperate like other here. I just want to earn it by the time and the effort and if I deserve it.
So this will be my last topic here in the Meta section, regarding the merit system.
271  Other / Meta / What are the rules/restrictions in reporting posts and where to find them? on: February 06, 2018, 06:44:14 PM
I just got this message while reporting some spam, but since there were 3-4 posts in the same thread I just done everything quickly but got this message >

Quote
The last posting from your IP was less than 26 seconds ago. Please try again later. The thing you were trying to post was saved as a draft. This limit decreases substantially as your account becomes more established.

Any sources to read about this restrictions?  I've been trough the "list of not official rules" but I cannot recall bumping in these restrictions.

Additional question, what is the procedure after the post is reported? Does it goes to the Mods for review or so?
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / 210 000 Bitcons in the hands of the Bulgarian gov can really affect the market. on: February 04, 2018, 08:03:57 PM
After the big news from the last year /see the first link below/ the Bulgarian government holds in his hands more than 210 000 Bitcoin.
If they decide to cash out which is inevitable the market will be devastated. It is just a matter of time this to happen.

274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Trading and profit, how do you set your goals? on: January 29, 2018, 10:09:37 AM
Hello everyone,
What profit in % you are after when you are opening positions?
I'm talking about not only day trading but in a bit longer terms like a week or so.
How many positions you open for one coin?
Looking for guidelines and good strategies.
I tried trading with 50$ in Nov-Dec, made them 180 and then decided to enter right before the dip, now I'm mostly holding to recover, thanks to the BTC im on + and some coins are already on + like CND + 70.69% and XRP +20.46% but others are on - 20,30,40%
Wondering now shall I sell the ones on + and reinvest or wait for more gain? Just to note all my investments in altcoins are around 600$.

276  Other / Meta / Idea for the Bounty Section and ANN improvement + update on: January 26, 2018, 01:51:04 PM
I made an example of something maybe useful and something that was missing here from my point of view. Many people are in the forum only for the bounties, f is this good or bad I can't say, but this is what they ask for all the time, especially the newbies: A list with all the bounties available for them.
If theymos decides to remove the signature campaigns, as it was discussed earlier HERE this will be irrelevant, but I leave this to the Admins.

Now the problem I see:
The Services and Bounty sections are full of spam posts with questions like "Which sig campaign to join", "Any campaign for newbies" etc.
Old bounties and new bounties are mixed on every page and it is a mess.

This is just an example how the system might work and improve the currents situation >
Here is what I created - Google form to be filled by the bounty managers /I have to note that it does not collect email addresses/:
https://goo.gl/forms/hXdTSWTwSc7pvg6H3

The spreadsheet with the answers:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CFL41C6zmkKkzBpqgghR93WGIvqp8N_XT4WlqeW4vkg/edit#gid=1594220160

Everything will be easier to read and to follow bounties, find a new one according your rank.

I want to hear your opinion.

Just a note to the early adopters: Not all the newbies, bounty hunters or non-native (NNES) are shitposters. For some It's more like a stage you go trough when you are new to the community, and you have your first interactions with this different cryptoworld in some way.
Trough the campaign I've joined til now I've learned many new things, reading whitepapers and understanding the process and possibilities given by the blockchain technology. I'm not gonna make big money out of it,I have my well paid job here in Norway, but acquire knowledge on the way.

278  Other / Beginners & Help / Got some satoshi transferred to wallet but who send them? on: December 30, 2017, 06:34:12 PM
Maybe its a noob questions but I'm participating in different twitter bounties so I got today one transaction of almost 80k satoshi, but idk for which campaign. How can I trace the sender? Tried looking for the senders address in the forum but got only one hit from campaign from early November in which I was not participating.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Building a Monero rig,newbie here on: December 14, 2017, 03:06:34 PM
Hello and lets get directly to the point.
I have some old hardware I would like to use in mining Monero.

At the moment I have the following:
GPUs: 2x gtx 560ti, 1xgtx590 1X gtx770 4gb 1x AMD 5850, 1x AMD 4850 1xAMD 7950
CPU + MBs : AMD FX8350 + Sabertooth 990fx r2 , i7 2600K + Asus maximus iv extreme z
PSUs> Corsair 650w , Coirsair 550w gold 80 , Corsair 550W

Have enough RAM, HDDs, SSDs, Coolers, and other components. I have ordered an adapter to stack two PSUs. I will order some PCI riser as well.

At the moment I was mining with the GTX770 + FX8350 + HD5850 + i7 2600K ~ 1000 H/s / also using them for heating now in the winter but they are not working 24/7. Have to mention that I was using MinerGate .  I think now im gonna build a one miner to put in all the old hardware.

Power costs are irrelevant at the moment.

So here some questions:
1. Which MB to use for mining of the once I have now?
2. Can I mine with GPU + CPU ?
3. Can I mine with NVidia and AMD in the same time?
4. Which software to use instead of MinerGate which will allow me to mine with all the cards

Any suggestions are welcome Smiley
